Summary: Good book, but could have ended better.
Review: Even though I read this book pretty quickly and enjoyed it, I have to agree with one of the other readers regarding it ending abruptly with too many loose ends.

Summary: Michael Palmer scores another medical thriller!
Review: A feisty neurosurgeon, a rogue CIA agent, a Carlos-like terrorist, brain tumor patients, an unbearable surgeon, and a robot device named ARTIE are the stars of Michael Palmer's latest thriller -- his best in years. We're drawn into the dangerous world of cheap death, the horror of brain surgery (what can go wrong usually does go wrong in this novel), and into a wonderful main character's life, Dr. Jessie Copeland. The surgery scenes crackle. This book kept me up until two A.M. It's that good, folks!

Michael Palmer spins a tale about the most sinster man who will stop at nothing to find a cure for his brain turmor and the neurosurgeon who must cure him or risk a catastrophy that will kill thousands. But be prepared...Once you open this book...you will not beable to put it down.

Review: This is a highly plausible medical thriller, well paced with a few unexpected twists and turns.Perfect for reading in the Southern Hemisphere in front of a warm fire.Good vacation read in that other remote hemisphere

Summary: Electrifying/The Patient
Review: A very exciting book. Our heroine is the best in her field of brain surgery although her boss feels otherwise. She is reluctant at first to help our renegade FBI agent to catch a contract killer known as The Mist. With thousands of lifes at stake Jesse must succeed in removing a tumor from the killers brain. Mr. Palmers excellent writing invokes compassion, tension, humor(among many other emotions) and makes us a part of a world that we would not otherwise know about. So entertaining that you can't help but smile when you are finished, and the only problem is that it has to come to an end. This is a must read for anyone!

Summary: Exciting
Review: This is a wonderful ride and if your jaw doesn't drop to your chin around page 200, then you're just waaaay too jaded and need to read some other genre for awhile. I loved this book and have read all of Palmer's so far and he hasn't disappointed yet. Except for using the word "strode" (one of the top ten cliches in my humble opinion) there was not one misspelled word (kudos to his editors) nor mis-used word. He said pored, not poured, over documents...I love that when it happens!

Summary: Something missing...
Review: I enjoyed this fast-paced medical thriller as I do all of Michael Palmer's books BUT, it ended rather abruptly and I was left wondering about several issues. Even a brief epilogue would have gone a long way toward tying several loose ends together.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Riviting
Review: A reader will never be disappointed when reading Palmer. Along with relative newcomer Charles Wilson (check out his DONOR, GAME PLAN), my favorite "science-based-stories authors)--can't wait until either of their next ones. Also, for any who haven't yet read Robin Cook's COMA, check it out.

Summary: A gripper from the start
Review: In Michael Palmer's classical style, he once again brings thereader into cutting edge medical technology mixed with an outstandingcast of characters. His latest book "The Patient" will keep you involved with the plot right up to the "hold your breath" ending. I literally could not put this book down until it was done!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: A page turner, but....
Review: A good read for the medical suspense genre, but I was somewhat dissapointed by the lack of credibility for the characters. The egomaniacal chief-of-staff; the evil in spades bad guys; the strong but too-sensitive female lead...extremely broad stokes, but, hey, this is not the place for Dickens or Shakespeare.. enjoy the read.
