Summary: a series of video clips a little bit to long
Review: Felt like I zapped at the wrong time into series of video clips on a music, fashion, about music and fashion channel watching artificial 'real characters dropping their written lines', clips about making the clips and being pointed to the feeling 'hey, look, you are backstage where the first crew (Ellis) shoots clip after clip'. Every piece, clip, character is loose connected with the other. And: it's a sequel to Ellis former books. To be continued... Anyway, if it's your first reading of Ellis work, you will probably enjoy it.

Summary: Worth reading but confusing at times
Review: Awesome book if you like the author and his grasp of the nasty in our societies. Way overboard on the celebrity naming - but I'm sure that was the point - tiring, monotonous, stupid, fake. Other than the general deal that celebrity obsession, constant drugs and shallow fashion numb people to the point that they have zero moral direction, I'm not sure what the purpose of the book was. Victor is unlikable and an idiot. The ending was sureal and bizarre. I too have no idea what the camera crews were (that everyone is just a pawn/actor in someone else's show?) and was totally confused. I enjoyed it for Brett's writing: his writing is rich and often hilarious - the subject and plot are bleak.

Summary: WILD LIVES INTERSECTING WITH PSEUDO REALITY!
Review: This story was entertaining, UP-FRONT, and at several points, hilarious! Ellis has never let me down. Check it out if you're looking for sound entertainment. Also, check out Green's "Pseudo Cool" and Lolita's "Getting to the Good Part" for some additional brash and dynamic reads!

Summary: it's just good old ellis
Review: if you like ellis: this book is a must. if you don't like him: read something else. glamorama is typical ellis. very cool, sarcastic, funny and brutal.

Summary: The most evil book I have ever read
Review: With his very distinct cold style Ellis does what he does best, but this time with a plot. Weird, dark and sickening he creates an atmosphere of pure evil that left me with my mouth open. Brilliant!!!!

Summary: I waited five years for this?!!!
Review: Well, really eight years I waited for a new novel from Ellis. In 1994, he published a collection of short stories titled "The Informers". I thought that it was pretty good but I couldn't wait to get the true follow up from the classic "American Psycho". First, the endless list of celebrities that are named are annoying. Second, what was the deal with the "camera crew"? I didn't understand whether the actor/model was actually being filmed or if the events were really happening. To make matters worse, there was a "second camera crew" informing him that he wasn't sticking to the script. WHAT??? Third, the book should have been titled "Loopholerama" because there were plenty of them. If Ellis' goal was to confuse and annoy the reader, he accomplished his mission.

Summary: You will finish the book
Review: Briefly, it is easy to follow the "plot"'

Summary: horrible--I just threw it in the garbarge
Review: Please do not waste your money on this drivel. I read about 1/2 of the book, and could not continue. It is pure and utter garbage. No one could convince me otherwise. I have just thrown it into my waste basket at work--which is where it belongs.

Summary: More of the same, more of the same, more of the same....
Review: ..and..like..again..we enter the world of Ellis..and like..maintain..chill..etc..not boring..but didnt have me running to read it like Psycho which was the best book of the 80's along with less than zero..i havent even finished it and find myself disinterested with the characters..spacing over whole pages if i'm not carefull..change the script find a different voice...it worked for Zero and Psycho but if Ellis wants to stay at the top he should find a different subject matter and put his brilliantly sarcastic voice to something else....and to anyone insulting anyones intelligence by saying "you dont get ellis" keep reading Grisham..dude.. cut/print!

Summary: This book is unique and brilliant
Review: Pure B.E.E. from begining to end - this book is amazingly funny and has great perspective in a twisted kind of post-post-modern way which it would probably condemn itself for. Twisted, ironic, clever and unique - buy it now without any second thoughts.
