Summary: Another Good--not great--book by my favorite author.
Review: An intriguing story line and premise that kept me interested and reading all day long! The characters were real and reacted to situations in ways that were genuine. This is a story that could have easily become burdensome by enhancing the romantic plot line. But MHC stayed on track and kept the pages turning.

Review: Now that summer is here, Mary Higgins Clark is perfect beach/poolside reading. She takes the reader on a ride intended to thrill (something I tried to emulate in my own novel, THE SHAPE by Craig Furnas), and has surprises set to detonate in chapter after chapter.

Summary: Dumbest book I've read this year
Review: It is disheartening to know that Mary Higgins Clark makes millions by churning out garbage such as this. Not only is Dr. Susan Chandler (the lead character) the dumbest woman on earth (I was hoping she would be killed) but the predictable plot, uninteresting characters and ulimate disappointing conclusion leave the reader unsatisfied. This has to be one of the worst books I have ever read and I do not recommend it at all.

Summary: Thought I knew who did it. . . But was totally WRONG!!!!
Review: The book was great I finished in a week and two days and only by reading during my 1 hr. lunch time. You will think you know who did it but won't find out until the very end. It is a great book. I recommend it to every one!!

Summary: A New Fan
Review: I have been a murder-mystery buff for many years, however, I never read MHC's books. I bought this one at an airport just so that I would have something to read on the flight, and I could not put it down. I am a new loyal fan and now I am about to purchase several more!! IT IS AN EXCELLENT STORY!!!!!!!

Review: MHC ALWAYS WRITES HER BOOKS SO THAT THE PERSON YOU START TO LIKE AND LEAST EXPECTS IS THE MURDERER. I STARTED READING HER BOOKS LAST YEAR AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO STOP. I HAVE READ ALL OF THEM SO FAR AND I CAN NOT WAIT FOR HER TO COME OUT WITH ANOTHER ONE. I HAVE WAITED MOST OF THIS SCHOOL YEAR WAITING FOR THIS ONE TO COME OUT. LIKE I SAID I READ ONE AND I WAS HOOKED. I HAVE GOTTEN MANY OF MY FRIENDS HOOKED ON HER BOOKS AS WELL. I HAVE READ MANY MURDER MYSTERIES AND I LIKE THE ONES THAT ALWAYS LEAD YOU ON TO BELIEVE THE MURDERER IS SOMEONE ELSE BUT IT ENDS UP BEING THE PERSON YOU LEAST EXPECT. YOU BELONG TO ME WAS PROBABLY ONE OF MHC'S BEST BOOKS THAT I HAVE READ, IT WAS VERY SUSPENSFUL AND KEPT ME ON THE EDGE OF MY CHAIR THE WHOLE TIME I READ IT. AFTER I STARTED READING IT, LIKE MANY OF HER OTHER BOOKS, I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN FOR MORE THAT AN HOUR, IF EVEN THAT. I WOULD SUGGEST YOU BELONG TO ME TO ANYONE IF THEY ASKED ME MY OPINION ON THE BOOK.

Review: You Belong To Me is proof of MHC's terrific flair for writing. This was a wonderful, intriguing tale and I loved the Dr. Chandler character. I cannot wait for her next book.

Summary: Why did I read this book?
Review: I have read many of MHC books and I have found her latest a dissapointment. The characters completely fit the mold of her other novels and the plot is predictable. MHC is sticking to her plot formula a bit too closely and has forgotten to make it interesting. In her other novels she leaves you guessing until the last minute. Not this one! If you've never read a MHC then I suggest that you don't start with this one.

Summary: cardboard characters and a mystery that's easy to figure out
Review: I must admit I was not expecting much from Mary Higgins Clark after her last couple of attempts, and I was not disappointed. This is definitely the worst one I have read by her, however. I agree with some of the other reviewers who say that the identity of the murderer was obvious. There is no character development in this novel. What I found to be the worst part about this book was how perfect most of the people were: Susan is beautiful, charming, intelligent, well-dressed, has perfect hair, etc. etc. Plus most everybody was filthy rich. Am I seeing a pattern here? Not worth the time I took to read it.

Summary: Will the "real" Mary Higgins Clark please stand????
Review: Such a crushing disappointment to read this latest book. I have every book MHC has ever written since "Where Are The Children" and this one was just not her at all. I even met MHC at a book signing once and it is almost as if someone else wrote this slaughterhouse and penned her name to it.I normally read her books at one sitting and dare anyone to interrupt me. This book has taken me an entire week to read and I found myself scanning over the pages, which is something I NEVER do in a book. The few times that I have done that I just put the book down and decide it is not worth reading. As MHC is one of my favorite authors I figured she at least deserved my loyalty and has earned my respect to make me see it through to the end. The charcters were like paper mache. Obvious who was or was not the killer. And the main character, Dr. Susan Chandler, had about as much a personality shine through as mannequin. Was really sad to see so many characters thrown into one mass of rubbish with no excitement or suspense. The reader knew pages, if not chapters, ahead of time what was going to happen next or who it was going to happen to. I'm not sure what happened with this book but it was more along the lines of a first time author. I of course will wait with anticipation for the next book by MHC. I also got the strangest feeling from her Acknowledgments that perhaps she was ready to hang up her creative pen? I certainly will not want to see that day come. If however her next work is as disappointing as this then is always best to remember a loved one as they were, rather than as they are in some instances. My best wishes to MHC if there is another book to come and I sincerely hope it is more to her true form of suspense and page turning desire to get to the end.
