Summary: THIS WOULD MAKE A GREAT MOVIE!!!
Review: After reading the first couple of pages in this book I was most definitely hooked! It was a wake up call to the real side of racial prejudice and hate towards minorities and people of biracial ethnicity. Taylor, a biracial television journalist, who looks white is threatened by a White Supremacist group after she poses as a would be member and brings down the organization. Once the members are released from prison their main objective is to destroy Taylor.

After a ten year separation in walks the man that Taylor loved more than any one else, Julian also biracial and a television journalist has returned to reclaim the love they once shared . One problem, Taylor is now engaged and scheduled to marry the owner of the television station they both now work for. Philip , Taylor's fiancee has a few deep dark secrets that brings the story to an explosive confrontation between him and Taylor, and later him and Julian.

The daring prison escape of the White supremacist was one no one could have anticipated but was so explosive that it had me holding my breath.

The story was very well written and the love scenes between Taylor and Julian were to say the least heartstopping. The dramatic climax is what make this books worthy of Hollywood taking a read and making a movie on it.

You will not want to put this book down. 350 pages was not enough! I read this book in one sitting because i could not stand to wait and see what happened next. Definitely a keeper!

Summary: White Chocolate, A Must Read!
Review: After Taylor James places a group of White Supremacists behind bars, her news anchoring career skyrockets! She's engaged to Philip, who is twenty years her senior and is trying to gain his stepfather's approval by acquiring extra stations for the family business. She feels her and Philip belong together since she's an outcast biracially, and he's the bastard of the family. When Julian, her childhood sweetheart, is hired at her news station, she's furious! Sparks fly and as Taylor and Julian fall in love again. Danger lurks when the Supremacists are released from prison. This book is full of real characters that are well developed. You'll keep turning those pages until you reach the end.

Summary: Frightening because it is based on real events
Review: Going undercover, TV journalist Taylor James attends a recruiting weekend for the White Power Alliance, a hate group comprised of deciples of the teachings of Hitler. Her assignment turns out to be more successful then she ever imagined as she infiltrates the compound, leading to the confiscation of weapons and the arrest of the leaders. Though she can pass for white, Taylor's victory is bittersweet because she is actually a product of biracial parents and the leader and his son who she exposed were her childhood tormentors.

Three years later, the leaders are released from prison with two objectives: to rebuild their empire and kill Taylor. The death threats worry the authorities, who provide her with 24-hour protection. However, even her security is unsafe because her enemies have infiltrated every aspect of society, including the police. Taylor has no idea who is friend and who is foe.

WHITE CHOCOLATE is a frightening depiction of the growing threat of the supremacist movement, giving the readers a glimpse into their thoughts, motivations, and actions. Elizabeth Atkins Bowman focuses on the problems confronting a biracial individual in a polarized society. Although the romantic frailties of the female protagonist adds nothing to the story line, on a whole this is an entertaining and educational read into two topics confronting today's society.

Summary: Shallow
Review: I am so sick of the stereotypical "tragic" mullatto story. The author is trying to destroy these stereotypes, yet creates them herself. I felt myself wanting to say "give me a break!" I am not biracial, and I know I can't understand some of the pain, but I know plenty of people who are half black and half white, who are happy and comfortable with themselves. And the title, "white chocolate", can we please be a little more creative?

Summary: enjoyable story with a message
Review: I liked this book. Elizabeth Atkins Bowman adeptly describes the feelings of hostility and fear that any minority person might feel when confronted by the bigotry that continues to beleaguer our nation. She does this while telling an exciting story of love lost and careers made.

Taylor James, the biracial protagonist of this tale, has been betrayed by her best friend and former lover, Julian Dupont, but she has put that behind her and is now a successful television journalist and fiance of the powerful owner of wolf media corporation, Phillip Carter.

Then her carefully planned life begins to fall apart when the white supremist leaders whose organization she had infiltrated and destroyed are set free and threaten to kill her. Her fiance becomes annoyed with her strong racial leanings and her strong career ambitions. Her renewed relationship with Julian makes her question her decision to marry Phillip. Julian will stop at nothing to win Taylor back and to protect her. The white supremists will stop at nothing to murder her.

The story is well drawn but sometimes contrived in order to make its point both philosophically and in terms of plot lines. I did, however, enjoy it enough to order Bowman's next book.

Summary: A Made For TV Movie In The Making....
Review: I must say, after the first 100 pages, i was compelled to give up on this novel, because it reeked of schmaltz and it seemed a bit contrived and cliched in places...but i stuck it out, and once the plots got going, i was rewarded... Bowman does a very good job at keeping the reader interested in her characters and triumphs at making us care for them...taylor came off as being too wholesome, which is a laugh, when you consider that she was considering marrying philip just to advance her career...actually the big surprise in this book was how well the supporting characters came off..Shari is delightful as taylor's bitchy boss whom in the end, only thinks of her own needs...carla of course is the goody two shoes...oh well, everyone cant be "skanless"....Julian seems like the type of brotha who would better off neutered, but, he's human, so don't hate him too much...a collection of epidoses of the tragic mullato and the world they live in....this book smacks of a made for tv movie...jennifer beals (the flashdance girl) or even halle berry would be perfect as taylor...an okay book, but only as escapist reeding...a marginal 3 star review

Summary: This was a Great Book!!!
Review: I really enjoyed this book. The subject matter was compelling. It had just the right amount of suspense, romance and betrayal. It is frightening to know that there are actually people out there like Rocky Pulaski and his son Billy Joe.

I couldn't put this one down and I can't wait for the next book from this author.

Summary: I loved it!
Review: I thought "White Chocolate" was a spectacular debut for Ms. Bowman. I first met Ms. Bowman at a Writer's Conference last year. That's what made me buy the book, and I wasn't at all disappointed.

Bowman portrays Taylor as a strong female who's struggling with trying to be accepted. This book opens my eyes as to how hard multi-racial people have it in society. I think the author does a good job of displaying this. I love forward to her next book.

Summary: Romance, thrills and mystery
Review: I thought for a first time novelist this was an excellent debut novel. The mystery and suspense kept me reading until the end, though it was predictable. The relationship between Taylor and Julian blossomed to a nice love story. The sleazy Phillip, the backstabbing friend Shari and TV reporting industry kept just enough juicy tidbits to make the novel interesting. The entire White Supreme storyline kept the suspense going. As scary as it is, we know it exist now!
