Summary: Highly recommended
Review: This book is like Janet Evanovich at her best -- obviously it was patterned after Evanovich's stories of a struggling heroine in an ethnic, blue collar rust-belt kind of town. The plot was clever and had a number of interesting twists, and the characters were quirky. The dialogue was also well-written. Congratulations and I look forward to reading your future books.

Summary: so it's not Evanovich, get over it
Review: This book is perfectly readable, has some amusing moments and is an easy read. No it's not on the same level as the early Stephanie Plum, but neither are the later Stephanie Plums. I like the Pennyslvania settings, and I like Bubbles. I would read the follow-up.

Summary: What the heck?!?!?
Review: This is the first book I have read by Sarah Strohmeyer. I can't believe how slow-moving this book is. The characters are so out-of-this-world. Nothing is believable. I threw this book to the ground half way through. It never got started. If you like mystery, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK! Sorry Sarah.

Summary: Who wrote this book? Sarah or Janet?
Review: Very sad imitation of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum stories. I looked for this book all over the place and was so excited about finally finding it. Was I ever disappointed....This book was neither a mystery nor a romance - it was just plain stupid. I certainly won't purchase the next book.

Summary: Bubbles is no Stephanie
Review: What a disappointment! Strohmeyer is trying to be Evanovich, but she fails in every respect: character, romantic interest, eccentric family member. She would have done better to be herself, instead of being such an obvious copy. Maybe someone who hadn't read any of Janet Evanovich's books could enjoy this, but I doubt any true follower of Stephanie, Morelli and Ranger could.

Summary: Loved it!
Review: What a great book! I got it to read on vacation and was actually laughing out loud on the plane. I found Bubbles a refreshing character and her adventures entertaining. Can't wait to read more about her. Being very familiar with the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania, I enjoyed the local references.

Summary: Go Sarah . . .
Review: What a great way to start a new series - one that I hope will go on for a few books, anyway. Bubbles Yablonsky is a great character, true to her name from dress to attitude. The story develops nicely and keeps the reader wanting more. And it really picks up in the last few chapters with clues that in most cases would help the reader figure out what the outcome will be but in this case only keeps you on your toes and moving from page to page until you find out the answer to the mystery. I like the tying together of a murder in the past with situations in the present and how it all comes together. Bubbles, her mother, her mother's friend, Bubbles' daughter Jane, the folks at the beauty parlor, Mickey and of course, Stiletto are characters that the reader can definitely get involved with. The capers Bubbles gets herself into makes you laugh and makes you pull for her to come out on top - the hero. If you love Earlene, Janet E., Suzann, Tamar, and Denise S. I think you will really enjoy Susan Strohmeyer's debut to a comical yet very appealing mystery.

Summary: Fun
Review: What a great, quick , fun read! Great characters, etc. THis is not going to be the most intellectual or mind bending of all books, but you will absolutely enjoy it. Make sure to bring another book along because you will finish this one quickly! Great!!!!!

Summary: Delightful and Fun!
Review: Wow, was I surprised! I wasn't expecting much of Bubbles, but she is definitely her own woman. Bubbles, a tenacious hairdresser, stays on the trail of a murderer while wearing heels at least 3" tall. Her friends and daughter keep their faith in her while the socialites in town try to destroy her. The plot was deeper than I suspected and kept me unsure of who to trust until the end. I laughed through this book and can't wait to try the Kool-aid dye just for the fun of it! A strong but real woman, Bubbles is a great find. Hope there is another Bubbles' mystery to follow!
