Rating: Summary: I just don't get it. Review: I purchased the unabridged audio version of Bubble's Unbound with the understanding that this novel was supposed to be humorous. Boy, was I disappointed. Bubbles is just another sad Steph Plum knockoff, but worse, Bubbles is even more inept than Plum. If such a thing can be believed.
Worse, this novel isn't particularly funny. Bubbles Unbound was like a bad episode of Lucy... But with a silly ex, and a teenage daughter instead of Rickie. I found the humor in this novel cringe inducing. (The scene with the 'jumper,' the long and sad back-story about the main character's lack of education and compulsive community college course-taking).The characters names (Stilleto, Bubbles), were off-putting and too 'cute' for my taste.
Overall, I found Bubbles Unbound to be a waste of time. It didn't even produce a chuckle.
Rating: Summary: page-turner Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. The comical name of the heroine matched her personality. The novel was a well-rounded mix of comedy, romance, action, and adventure..with some lesbian mother on the side..lol..
Rating: Summary: Lots of Fun Review: I really enjoyed this story. The characters were hilarious, and it was well written. I couldn't wait to pick up this book every day. I would definitely recommend this author; however, there were many errors in the book, and I would suggest a better editor to find them.
Rating: Summary: wild and wacky romp Review: I really liked this book, was taken by Bubbles "bubbly" (sorry about the pun) personality, and liked her attitude. The story was a wild and wacky romp. Loved the beauty hints!!! This is not a Janet Evanovich clone, although there will be comparisons. I am anxiously awaiting the sequel.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! Review: I was hooked from the first page. The editorial and other customer reviews explain the characters and plot quite well so I have little to add to that. I was impressed that this book had something few first novels have: well-developed characters AND plot, complete with as much twist as Steve Stilleto puts in Bubbles Yablonsky's hair! I truly hated for this book to end and eagerly await Sarah Strohmeyer's next Bubbles adventure!
Rating: Summary: Very Good Review: If you like Janet Evanovich and Nancy Bartholomew you will like Sarah Strohmeyer. I could not put this book down and read it with a smile most of the time. I am looking forward to reading her second book and hope it will be a long series.
Rating: Summary: I wish all mysteries were this good... Review: If you like Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum, you will love Bubbles Yablonsky. (Horrible name, but great book) It is a laugh out loud mystery. Run, don't walk and get this book.
Rating: Summary: Move Over Janet Evanovich Review: If you like Stephanie Plum, you'll love Bubbles Yablonsky. She's a wild and crazy character and her co-horts are unforgettable. Try it, you'll like it.
Rating: Summary: Bubbles is a winner!! Review: In the second paragraph of her acknowledgemet, Sarah Strohmeyer thanks Janet Evanovich for her support. She calls Evanovich a mentor and a friend. And, she states that Bubbles was "born" on Evanovich's kitchen table in New Hampshire. All I have to say is--THANK HEAVENS!! There are definite parallels between Bubbles Yablonsky and Stephanie Plum--they are both funny and well-written!! I found this book to be a pure pleasure!! I consider it a plus when I smile while reading.... The secondary characters are also well done--I especially like the relationship between Bubbles and her daughter, Jane. I have a teenager myself and feel that that relationship rings particularly true. I am eagerly awaiting the next Bubbles fix!! Thanks Sarah Strohmeyer........
