Summary: Fabulous, Terrific, Baaaaaaaaaad!
Review: This beautiful book deals with the struggle of today's African American male. "A Do Right Man" is told through the eyes of a young, successful man of the ninties. Realistically written, you will fall in love with the characters!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good Book!!
Review: I thought that the plot and the storyline of the book was decent. It was interesting near the end how Bobby finally met up with Pearl and how her attitude and life changed. What amazed me most about the story was that Bobby finally realized that his true love was Faye and how they finally realized that at the end. Bobby had a lot of maturing to do and by having his younger brother settle down earlier than him taught him how to be a real man.

Summary: A Crush on Bobby Dallas
Review: I liked "A Do Right Man" just as much as "FLyy Girl." I found it to be tremendously entertaining. At a few points in the book I think I even developed a crush on the main character, Bobby Dallas. Bobby Dallas' "coming of age" was filled with realistic ups and downs. This story showed that men actually do have feelings, plus it gave us (women) some insight as to how and why some men handle relationships.

Summary: BORING!!!!
Review: This book was the biggest disappointment. I read Flyy Girl and I thought that is was really a great read. When I purchased A Do Right Man little did I know I was wasting my time and money. The characters were unimaginative and boring. I don't know any men like Bobby Dallas. What a wimp! I hope that Mr. Tyree's next book Single Mom is better, however I have learned my lesson with this book and I'll wait for the paperback to come out.

Summary: Nothing spectacular
Review: This was my first time reading a book by Omar Tyree and I'm not sure I want to read something else by him!! It left a lot to be desired. The main character, Bobby Dallas was not fresh or exciting. I have met a few people like Bobby, but NO ONE I would ever want to read about. The title does not fit the book. From the title alone I expected a lot more. If you're looking for good books from good african-american male writers, try Eric Jerome Dickey and E. Lynn Harris.

Summary: Disappointing Read
Review: I was extremly disappointed in this book. I really enjoyed Flyy Girl and waited anxiously for this book. I thought this book was slow and the main character was boring. I could barely finish it. I didn't care about the characters and cared even less about what happened to them.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Too slow and boring! Thank goodness I'm finished!
Review: Well, first the compliment. I really appreciated knowing some of the insecurities that men go through. That part of the book was ok. But, overall, the book moved too slow. Those of you who have not read the book, don't worry, nothing I could say will spoil the ending. At first it was ok, I figured that eventually he would get to the good parts. I kept turning the page expecting something exciting to happen. I was truly disappointed in the way in which he handled Pearl Davis. That relationship truly got on my nerves! The ending of the book was very uneventful. Also, I did not have to know, word for word, about all of the radio interviews that he conducted. That was sooo boring. And, what did taking vacations by himself have to do with anything? We didn't need a blow by blow of what he did on vacation, especially since he didn't take anyone. Needless to say, something was definitely missing. I haven't read Flyy Girl and I don't know if I feel like reading it. I'm hoping that the latest book will be a lot better. I have been keeping a journal for 15 years and I've had more twists and turns and exciting things happen than Bobby Dallas. The minute details of cigarettes and types of drinks (that he was unfamiliar with) were totally unnecessary. I am surprised that his editor or agent didn't ask him to redo some sections to add some spice to the book. I now know that I could use my journal and make the bestseller's list. Again, thanks for the insight on a good man's thoughts (though sometimes he was TOO weak, yes I said it!) but no thanks for the uneventful 10 years of his boring life!

Summary: good read
Review: I like to get into the lives of characters and Mr. Tyree gave me a chance to do this. I felt like I grew right along with Bobby Dallas. I love the fact that I was able to be there when he hooked up with the true love of his life. Could there possibly be a sequel??????

Summary: DISAPPOINTED
Review: This was nothing compare to the first book. The book move to slow. I had to put it dowm twice before I could push myself to finsh it. I hope that Single mom is better.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Too slow!
Review: I was very disappointed in A Do Right Man! I found the story extremely slow, and the main character, Bobby Dallas, rather boring. The book needed an editor to "punch up" the story line, ie add some conflict, tension, scandal, etc. to engross the reader. As is, it was a challange to finish the novel, simply because I didn't care what happened next.

I also found it hard to believe that this was the authors' fourth novel. Try to add some life to your next work Omar!!
