Rating: Summary: A Confused Disc Jockey Review: Oh my what a mess! Here we meet Bobby Dallas, an unassertive student at Howard University who starts "sleeping" with a girl who he's obviously afraid of! He moves to New York with Pearl gets a job blah...blah...blah... she leaves he leaves and he goes on and on like this the entire book. In college Bobby and his best friend Faye had a liking for one another okay why they didn't get it on? At the end of the book they finally get together! The details about working in the radio industry was really interesting and I guess Omar was trying to get across how hard it is to be a "black male" but it failed in my opinion! The character just came across as simple not as struggling to learn he didn't have the backbone he was a gentleman but at what cost? I loved Single mom but I haven't picked up anything else by Omar.
Rating: Summary: Dissappointing Review: What was he thinking about when he wrote this one. Bobby was such a ridiculous whimp it was pathetic. He acted like he was scared of his new girlfriend "PEARL". Then he was scared of Faye finding out about Pearl. Don't writ e anymore books like this one ever. I love some of his new books. I have all of his books this one did nothing for me. I LOVED FLYY GIRL.
Rating: Summary: A good read Review: The "Do Right Man" by Omar Tyree was good, but move rather slow. However, I did enjoy the book thoroughly, because it dealt with some reality that other books do not address. The reality I am speaking of in which I can relate to is the main character Bobby Dallas whom is struggling with the development of his career and finances. So many authors create this perfect utopia where nobody has problems with money or their career, and their biggest problem is finding that perfect "soulmate". I was interested in how Pearl Davis would finally get what was coming to her for dumping Bobby the way she did and not really giving him a second thought. However, the author did not go into that which I wanted to know more than anything.

Rating: Summary: Refreshing...........different!!!. A good read. Review: I have just finished "A Do Right Man" and I found it to be quite interesting. This was my first book by this author, but it will not be my last. What I enjoyed most about this book was reading the male perspective on relationships. Omar Tyree's sensitivity and emotionalism on issues facing the male gender today were explored in this book. "Bobby Dallas", even though having a college degree wants to break into the radio industry. This is not fully supported by his family, but he perseveres nevertheless and eventually makes it big and finally gains respect for his chosen career. Along the way, he constantly encounters the "wrong" women, both professionally and in his personal life. He wants to get married and have the American dream, just like his younger brother. He has a platonic relationship with Faye, while at college and sneakily gets involved with Pearl (whom Faye can't stand), but this relationship fails. Thereafter Bobby can't seem to find a compatible woman and goes through a series of bad love affairs.Eventually alls well that ends well as he encounters Faye again and love blossoms. All in all a good read. If you are looking for something different from a male author, give it a try.
Rating: Summary: The Radio Man Review: Though I was able to read this novel from cover to cover, I had a few problems with it. I'm still trying to figure out what made Bobby Dallas "A Do Right Man." Because he was passionate about his career in the radio biz? Jumping from one woman's bed to the next all the while trying to figure out why he can't keep one makes him 'a do right man'? Had the author spent more time developing Bobby's relationships and not so much of his career, we would have been able to see what made this man so great. The title of this book is definitely misleading and should be re-named "The Radio Man."
Rating: Summary: GOOD BOOK Review: I LIKE ALL OF HIS BOOKS BECAUSE I READ THEM ALL BUT OTHERWISE I THINK THAT HE SHOULD BE KNOWN AS A VERY GOOD WRITER AND AN ALL TIME FAVORITE FOR EVERYONE I RECOMMEND HIM TO ALL THE PEOPLE THE BOOKS ARE GREAT. BUT AS A FIFTEEN YEAR OLD I THINK THAT YOU NEED TO JUDGE FIRST AND THIS BOOK IS A GOOD EXAMPLE TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO THINKS THAT THEY ARE WEAK OKAY IF YOU ARE OFFENDED IM SORRY BUT IF YOU HAVE A CONFUSION PROBLEM I MEAN THIS BOOK IS A GOOD LAUGH AND SETTLER ITS MAINLY ABOUT DECISION MAKING OK THANK YOU
Rating: Summary: No man Review: the book was boring. the doright man need to get right
Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: I really loved this book. This book takes you through a ride of trying and going after dreams.I enjoyed reading this book.Excellent book, with a very happy ending.
Rating: Summary: I can relate... Review: As a black professional male, I can truly relate to the career and relationship struggles of the main character (Bobby Dallas) of this book. I commend Omar Tyree for portraying a brother who does have aspirations of wife, family, and the house on the hill. Certain portions of the novel are slow and should have detailed the family and female relationships of Bobby Dallas' life versus the caveats of the radio industry. However, this was a pretty good book and I would recommend it to others.
