Summary: Poorly written
Review: I like Diana Palmer. I really do. But this was not a good read. The story line was fairly weak; almost too sentimental and very, very predictable. It read more like a disjointed soap opera than anything I've read in recent years. Sorry, Diana, but I know you really can do better!

Summary: Thank you
Review: I loved this book so much that I read it twice within the same week.
Diana Palmer is a great author as usual. I thank her very much because I had a great time reading the book.

Summary: I loved this book!!
Review: I read the other reviews and considered them harsh. I read this book in on night! It has action, and passion( wow!) It also caught us up on some previous characters. I rate this up there with Lord of the Desert ( my other favorite)

Summary: I thought it was great!
Review: I really love all of the Diana Palmer books that I have read, and after reading the reviews here I was really afraid to read it. I thought that the book was really good. Not her best but still really good. I hope to read more of her books in the future. Keep writing stories for us Diana, You do a great job!

Summary: Cord and Maggie
Review: I think this was an ok book. I love Diana Palmer books. I think she is a very talented writer and shows lots of passion. I don't like this book as much as some of her others.
The story is about 2 kids who grow up together in a foster home. Years later Cord finds out that Maggie is in love with him and then he discovers that he also has feelings for her. I think it is strange the way they are so in love when they were raised as brother and sister (even though they are not kin to one another).

Summary: come on now...
Review: I too am an avid reader of Diana's books, but enough is enough. I have to agree with some of the other reviewers below that it is boring to read about the same old, same old plotlines. Diana was great in her glory days, but it appears that with each new book she writes the characters seem the same as in previous ones. I was very reluctant to pay hardcover price for this book but read some of the previews and thought I would take the chance. I was really hoping this new novel would be different, but lo and behold we have another rewrite of her previous books. I wished I had listened to my misgivings and saved myself twenty one dollars. I don't want to down Diana, but she really needs to give her fans something more than this. Her females need to be updated badly and the men need to tone down the gorilla act and written in a more believable manner. Save yourself some time and money by just getting this one at the used bookstore if you really feel the need to read it.

Summary: Not Palmer's best!
Review: I was very disappointed in this book! It started out great but the more I read the less interesting it became. There was also just too much sex in it and not enough mystery! I think what makes a great romance is when couples abstain from sex until you can't wait for the moment they get together and in Desperado they were doing it every time you turned the page. I could pretty much predict how everything was going to turn out. However I must say that I love all Diana Palmer's novels but must agree with others that the "sexually abused act" along with the "too innocent" act is getting old. I am very happy that Diana writes about virginal heroines because I believe women should abstain until marriage- but let's face it- it is the year 2002 and I doubt there is any woman on the face of this earth as naive and dumb as her heroines are about men. Desperado starts with Maggie coming home from a job she accepted overseas to take care of Cord whom she fears is blinded- however after they leave the ranch because there lives are in danger I just felt the plot weakened from there on!
Just my opinion! However, I think Diana Palmer is a wonderful author and I may of felt different about this book if I hadn't read some of Palmer's earlier works that were so great they were almost magical.

Summary: Not worth the price
Review: I've enjoyed reading Diana Palmer and have done so for many years, but her books now seem outdated. And this last one is a prime example. Although Ms Palmer is trying to make her heroine more capable of taking care of herself, the males in this book still treat the females as though they were children. The plot held a great deal of promise but the writing style just wasn't up to it. I kept asking myself, if it was that easy to shut down the bad guys, why hadn't someone else done it long ago? One of this writers strongest points is her ability to write great love scenes, but even that is off in this book, since the h/h spend most of the time congratulating themselves on a job well done.

Summary: Terrible!!
Review: I've read many of Diane Palmers books and liked them but this one was terrible! From the first scene the supposed hero was a big jerk and left me wondering WHAT our heroine saw in him. It reminded me of the old "bodice ripper" novels of the late 70's, early 80's where the guy was a total beast to the woman and she still loved him despite it.

I hope Ms. Palmer can come up with more believeable characters for her next novel.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Desperado
Review: If you haven't read this book yet, you will thoroughly enjoy it. Ms Palmer knows how to keep her readers on the edge of their seat and turning the pages. It is a good book read.
