Summary: Same old, same old.........
Review: As a former DP fan, I've sworn off her books lately. How many times can you re-hash the same old love scenes (mostly with the same old dialogue)? I took a chance on this book for some light summer reading, but unfortunately, I was disappointed to find the usual characters, redundant plot lines and predictable banter. Also, why are all romance writers so hung up on COWBOYS as main characters? Try moving from the horse trough to the BMW lot, please!

Summary: Not That Desperate!
Review: For SHAME Diana! I agree with the previouse reviewers (except Harriett), if you change the cover, you've got the same OLD story. I think what really upsets me is that I feel like Diana is stealing from me. Why did this book need to come out in hardcover? Did you think you were fooling us with the LARGE print and thick paper? This story was not worth the price and not worth waiting for. . . .and if a man calls me "little one" as many times as Cord did, I'd run screaming from the house. I still love Diana's previous work, but I think she needs to update the stories. If this were a paperback, then I'd give this book 3 1/2 stars. All in all, it's still an ok way to pass the time, but if you are a big-time reader of romance novels . . and a loyal fan of Ms. Palmer's, you won't find this to be one of her best works. Better luck next time, Diana!

Summary: Either you like it or you don't, apparently...
Review: From the other reviews it seems to be either you like it or you don't. I have just read one other DP Book so I don't have it to compare to others- so it wasn't that that bad for me. I did notice that some of the scenes were a little "cheesy" as one reviewed called it and his calling her "little one" got old for me. But other than that the story was OK (but nothing to brag home about). It wasn't a book to get lost in and yes it was pretty predictable. Maggie rushes to Cord's side after she has received notice that he is blind from an injury while on a secret military mission only to be sent away by Cord himself. He is sulking because he expected her to get to him sooner than she did (of course he doesn't ask what she went through to get there). Cord gets put on a guilt trip by his foreman and runs after Maggie. There is a history with Maggie Barton and Cord Romero. They grew up like brother and sister in a foster home but aren't. Come to find out both have had an attraction for the other but never acted on it. Things get heated between the 2 and feeling finally come out. In the meantime, Cord is on a hit list and now has endangered Maggie's life as well so both are on the run. So the chase is on... It's a pretty good story to read, but nothing magical for me either.

Summary: Once is enough
Review: I am a big fan of Palmer and because of this i rushed to borrow this book ASAP.
I finished reading the book with hopes that it would get better, i kept hoping that Cord would stop feeling guilty and get out of the Texan-mercenary-regretful role. The development of the characters was weak. For all of Cord's intelligence he seemed pretty dumb in regards to Maggie.
Maggie desparately needed to bone up and stop acting like al love sick female i mean considering all that she has been through in regards to the oppositie sex
This book is sooooooooo predictable- Maggie's secret can be seen a mile away
There was no suspense- from Chapter 3 i could already tell how it would end and what would be the fate of the bad guys
A true novel should allow the possibility for the love birds being seperated for life
That was not the case
From the onset it was evident that they would be together as soon as Cord got his act together.
I regret to say that Diana Palmer is suffering from writer's block and because of this cannot come up with an original plot but just keeps reusing the innocent female- who has always loved the experience male- who was always to blind to see her
This book was not a total waste of my time though
The conversations between the two major characters and the romance was off-the-hook
Palmer i am a big fan so pleaaaaassseeee come up with a less predictable plot

Summary: Sexy as all!!
Review: I couldin't put it down to go to work. I think this is the best of Diana Palmer. I liked how Maggie and Cord had already met and had conflicts from the past. Desperado is a good way to describe the book, you shouldn't miss out!

Summary: I think it was great!!
Review: I don't agree with the others that said they didn't care for this book. Any Diana Palmer fan will love this book. She has such a good style of writing. She keeps the caracters alive and doesn't carry on and on about where the store takes place and keeps it on the hero and heroine. I will always love her stories!

Summary: Much To My Surprise This Book Was Great!
Review: I expected a flimsy romance story but what I got was a tense book of mixed emotions, crossed signals, and mysterious pasts. I really enjoyed the romance part of this book. I read most of it in one night and only when my eyes started to cross could I bear to put it down. It was a fast read but there were secrets that the pair kept from eachother that I really wanted to find out the details of. It wasn't a book that made me think a lot, but it made me sigh because of the intense feelings that the couple could finally admit to. I highly recommend if you are a romantic at heart and like to see a happy ending for 2 people that have had it rough.
