Summary: Thumbs down!!
Review: It took shear determination to finish this book. The plot was thin, unimaginative; just a very poorly written book to put it as kindly as possible.
As an avid reader, I never begin a book without finishing it, but each time I picked this book up to read, I did so with a sense of dread. The story line never picked up, and the ending was extremely predictable.
There is absolutely no suspense in this book. Just a lot of boredom. The only scary thing about this book, is the fact that I paid full price.
For a great suspense/mystery, I would highly recommend "Black For Remembrance", by Carlene Thompson.

Summary: Sorry, but
Review: Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for this book, but I did not like it. It seemed slow to start and the things happening in the book did not seem as suspenseful as they should have been. I picked out the person behind everything from the very beginning and I really had to force myself to get to the end (skipping and skimming mostly). Hopefully it was just my mood, if not buy with caution.

Summary: Great book!
Review: Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. It had me guessing up to the end!

Summary: Oh so agonizingly slow
Review: Sorry Ms. Anders. I just couldn't get through it. I got to page 100 and was ready to pull my hair out with the slow pace and the flat, two-dimensional feel of the characters. The story seemed forced at times and it was all I could do not to scream.
And come on, this is a woman living alone and she just ignores all the signs that people have been in her house? No self-respecting woman living alone would be so careless - and not immediately call a cop friend to get some reassurance. From the parts I skimmed over, it appears Carolyn finally got her game on, except for the marriage.
Since I figured out "who done it" pretty quickly, I just skipped to the end to see if the led heroine finally got her stuff together. Thankfully, she did,but not in time to save my sanity.

Summary: In all the wrong places
Review: The first page grabbed my attention immediately. It is a very suspenseful book that made me want to cheat and go to the back of the book to find out who did it. But it is so well written that I didn't want to ruin my enjoyment of the book.
I have recommended this book to all my friends and relatives. Those who have read it have also been hooked on the first page and also love the book.

Summary: Take a deep breath
Review: The woman-in-peril plot sweeps you along. The only bad thing is the writer's habit of over-using character names, especially when they speak. "Hi, Richard. How are you, Carolyn? I'm fine, Richard. That's great, Carolyn." If you can ignore that little quirk, the story will keep you turning pages til the end.

Summary: What a great writer! I couldn't put it down!!
Review: This has to be one of the best books I have ever read! I was on the edge of my seat until the very end. What a pleasure to read a book without being able to guess the ending. I have read every one of Donna's books and have yet to be disapointed. Donna is one of my favorite writers. I am already looking forward to reading her next book!

Summary: Great Read!
Review: This is Donna's best book yet--and the others are all terrific.

The suspense was gripping because the story was true-to-life and plausible. The main character was likeable and real. I couldn't put the book down. Am passing this title on to friends.

Summary: Kept me in suspense!
Review: This is the first of Donna Anders' books I have read, and I cannot wait to read more of her writing. It is interesting and suspensful - I could hardly put it down. She makes the people come alive, you feel like you know them. Sad to say, the subject is all too relevant in today's world. I recommend this when you want a good suspense novel.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This would make a great movie!
Review: This is with out a doubt, Donna Anders best! This was a great book to curl up with and pass the long dark Alaska night. I checked the locks on the doors more than once!
