Summary: One of Howards worst.
Review: This had to be Howards worst novel ever(with the exception of all that glitters). The characters were dull, and two sided. The plot was much too long. The romance between the two characters seemed to be unreal. They spoke maybe twice before the were in love. Realism is good to have in a novel. If you want a good Howard novel, try dream man. Don't waste your money on this piece of garbage.

Summary: Became a Linda Howard fan because of this book.
Review: I enjoyed this book and have now read many more of Ms. Howard's book because of it. I can honestly say I felt that this is as good as any of the others, in fact I liked it that it wasn't so very long. Marc ranks right up there with any of her other heroes and Karen was a feisty heroine.

Summary: Half-baked story
Review: This book was annoying, not worth reading, and a disappointment. It is unbelievable that Linda Howard published this -- it seems half-finished! I skimmed a lot of it -- it rambled, and the people were not characterized well. I have read every L.H. book (i think), and usually love her stories, but this was awful.

Perhaps she needs a rest? Is she cranking out too many stories?

Since the time when I ordered this book, Amazon has filled most of the first descriptive screen for this book with reviews from the publisher to cover the fact that this book has (in general) been blasted out of the water by loyal Howard fans. If you like Howard, skip this novel and read everything pre-1995.

At the end of the book, she obviously is setting the reader up to buy the sequel -- very rude considering this book didn't feel complete in itself. Is she trying to garner sales? Was this done by her publisher?

HERE'S AN IDEA -- write a good story and you won't have to lure peop! le.

Summary: IF THIS WAS ONE OF HER WORST, I CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE BEST!
Review: Why only 4 stars? Well, it IS a little short. & OK even I figured out early on why Karen's dad was murdered. & OK the instantaneous dislike Chastain developed for Karen did seem a bit contrived. But the sexual tension crackles off the page. Marc Chastain emerges as something new for me, something much more than the stereotypical arrogant jerk Alpha male cop I've read about in so many other romance novels (he is terribly smooth, isn't he ladies?). And he is so exactly what Karen needs because you must admit the woman is wound a little tight. I agree with other readers in that I'd like to see Ms. Howard explore John Medina's character in a sequel. But FOR ALL OF YOU WHO WERE SO DISAPPOINTED, let me tell you, this was my maiden journey into a Howard suspense novel and I was an instant fan from page 2. As far as I'm concerned, it can only get better! I can't wait to get my hands on those that came! before and those yet to come!

Summary: Disappointed!
Review: I have read every single one of Ms. Howard's books. This one was not up to speed. By the middle of the book I didn't care what happened to either of the characters.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I think it was the best book LH has written.
Review: This book had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put it down. I just had to finish it the same night that a started it. I had to know what was going to happen to Karen. The ending could have been a little longer but it was an excellent read.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A lukewarm read. Ms. Howard can and has done better.
Review: I've been enjoying Ms. Howard's work for years, but Kill And Tell left me cold. There was nothing wrong with it, but there wasn't anything compelling either. Not every book an authors writes is great, nor does every reader respond the same way. Maybe her next will be better.

Summary: I liked the unwanted romance that bloomed between them.
Review: He changed his mind about her ater seeing her loose a little of that stiffly held control she kept so well. Her true nature came out, and that's when i think he began to love her. The attempts on her life were well planned, and kept me on the edge of my seat. It was a little short...but that's okay. I really enjoyed the romance and love that blossomed!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The Best yet by Ms. Howard
Review: I loved this book. I have already re-read it many times. The story was great and the characters were terrific. Marc was so smooth you had to forgive him and all his practiced moves. Karen was intellegent enough to see the facts and get out of the way.

It was a quick read and I couldnt put it down. The thing that I now wish for is a story about John Medina, it would go along great with the cloak-in-dagger stuff that Ms. Howard does sooo well. All around terrific...

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: will definitely hold your attention!
Review: THIS TYPE OF STORY LINE IS COMPELLING.LOTS OF INTEREST.GLAD THAT MS. HOWARD SWITCH FROM WESTERN ROMANCE.BUT WOULD LIKE TO SEE A STORY LINE FOR JOHN MEDINA!
