Rating: Summary: Here he comes to save the day! Dirk Pitt is still on top! Review: How do I love thee?, let me count the ways. I could go on forever! I have only read 5 or 6 books by Clive and I'm hooked. (this is coming from an EX horror reader!) CC definitely knows how to capture and captivate. One of the best I've read, and maybe will read. (that's all up to CC) Keep 'em comin' we'll read 'em. Go Clive!, and congrats on a bestseller!
Rating: Summary: He's done it again Review: I love CC's books. I have read about 6 of them and Inca Gold is one of the best (Sahara is still my favourite, though). This action packed book is about a horde of Inca Gold buried in an island. Dirk Pitt and his feisty Italian friend, Al Giordino, search for the treasure, with a family of art thieves on their tail the whole way. If you like Clive Cussler's books, or if you just want to try an action book with some historical content, Inca Gold is for you!
Rating: Summary: Predictable and improbable Review: Yes, I found it exciting to read. Yes, it kept me reading and going back for more. But is it good? No. It is a sad state of affairs that this book can be thought of as worthy of the trees it killed in order to br published. Pitt is too mythical to identify with and the storyline is too predictable to make me want to actually buy a Dark Pitt book (this one was given to me, thankfully.) I guess it is a good read if you've read every other book in the world first.
Rating: Summary: Dirk Pitts toughest struggle yet. Review: Of all the adventures that Dirk Pitt has had, Inca Gold is arguably his best. Underground rivers, vast crime syndicates, bulletts flying, and a tequila on ice. Beautiful women, fighting for Dirk, classic cars, evil villains, the quintessential American dream of a novel.
Rating: Summary: Another gem from a master Review: If you haven't read some of c.c. work than look into that also. This exciting plot involves an ancient treasure, history,a death struggle,a good hero and bad guy and a 90's babe to name a few. If you like adventure this is a must read
Rating: Summary: Cussler delivers a satisfying 90's Indiana Jones. Review: With thrilling action, exotic surroundings, and hilarious characters, Clive Cussler gives us all the action that print can hold! Dirk Pitt and side-kick Al perfectly fit the stereotypical wise-cracking, swash-buckling, untouchable heros that were first introduced to us by Indiana Jones. Based on archaeology, Inca Gold gives us substantial intellectual plot, while not becoming a sluggish excavation documentary. Definetly the best novel I have read by Clive Cussler. If you don't mind unrealistic escapes, and still enjoy archetypal chase scenes, this is the book for you!!
Rating: Summary: A work of Art Review: Inca Gold has been passed around in my family 7 times to different members and has finally came back to me after 2 years. I have read every one of Mr. Cussler's books and this is the most exciting, imaginative, fearless and reckless book I have ever read. My husband, myself and my folks have had many conversations on who could turn this book into a screenplay. We all believe that even Mr. Spielberg couldn't do this one justice, there is just too much VAVOOM in it. And we still argue who could play Dirk: Mel Gibson, Kevin Costner, Tom Selleck. I still hold out for Sean Connery. Keep them coming Mr. Cusller, you take us all to a place we have only dreamed of
Rating: Summary: Nothing matches the exciting adventures of Dirk Pitt. Review: Move over, James Bond! Step aside, Jack Ryan! Go into retirement, Indiana Jones! The non-stop adventures of Dirk Pitt in the Clive Cussler novels are unbeatable for reading entertainment. I defy ANYBODY to put down a Dirk Pitt story in the middle. I've lost many hours sleep because of the superb story-telling expertise of Mr. Cussler. I look forward to his next adventure...and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that, and....
Rating: Summary: THE MOST EXCITING OF ALL DIRK PITT ADVENTURES Review: This is the first Cussler novel that I have read since I was twelve years old when I read "Vixen O3" and "Raise the Titanic". I am now hooked and continue to read all of his Dirk Pitt adventures. "Inca Gold" is truly the best of all of Cussler's books because of the non-stop action, especially the areas dealing with the underground river.
With each book I immediately turn to the back page to see what type of rare automobile Dirk will be utilizing. To actually see what the car looks like is truly exciting. This aspect of Cussler's novels adds a great continuity which makes one want to read all of his books
Rating: Summary: One of the greatest in the history of adventure novels Review: You can experience the touch of the author, transfered by Dirk Pitt, taking it with you into your mind. And when you are sitting behind your desk in the office again, the cold Swedish weather outside, you remember the adventures of Dirk, wishing you would be him
