Rating: Summary: Fact and Fiction Review: 2006: The Chautauqua Rising is an interesting mix of fact and fiction. Al Gore is projected into the White House and many characters are thinly veiled public figures. This was cleverly written as a "who-done-it" and romantic thriller, but the author did a magnificent job focusing on some important personal rights issues of our day that could evolve into much more serious issues by the year 2006. Independents and libertarians will love this book.
Rating: Summary: Mystery Thriller with a Message Review: A good story and easy to read. This book has everything a mystery thriller needs to hold your interest. An enigmatic figure named John Freeman, unexplained suicides, rotten politicians, a beautiful heroine, a mysterious organization and even Indians. Set in western New York State the author brings it all together using characters who would normally seem alien to one another but united in a common cause. Besides being entertaining the author gives the reader insight on just how broad the so called "right wing" really is and how far "political correctness" might go in the near future.

Rating: Summary: Yet another must read for the the right wing fringe Review: If you liked the Turner Diaries and Hunter, check this one out. At least Cashill knows sentence structure if nothing else. Yet another in the redneck, racist, "Oh my God, the liberals are ruining our nation" genre. Simplistic, predictable and well worth skipping.

Rating: Summary: Chatauqua Rising--individual rights versus group empowerment Review: Jack Cashill has crafted an elegantly drawn, eminently readable story of epic proportions. His rich characters are placed within a believable framework which expands current political trends to their frightening conclusions. The moment that you open the book, you are drawn into a puzzling mystery which quickly expands to illustrate the consequences of ignoring current popular beliefs. To wit: SUVs are no longer available, tobacco products are available only with a prescription or from Native Americans, totalitarian programs are framed as being "for the children." Even if you have no interest in politics or trends, the mystery story itself is so well crafted that it will draw you into its intricate, well written structure. Fans of good writing, and those who are politically alert will both appreciate and enjoy this well told tale.
Rating: Summary: Yet another must read for the the right wing fringe Review: Jack Cashill has written an extrodinary novel that is at once incredabley complex and yet very simple and easy to follow. TJ Colon is sports writter who is all to aimlessly drifting through his life until he gets a phone call telling him his father has committed suicide. (Think Vince Forster here) Where his life once revolved around the trivial (IE Sports and his nillistic girlfriend whom he lives with) he is now thrown into a much larger reality namely the political. TJ is quickly drawn into a web of deverse indivduals who are ready to stand up for indivdual rights and the constition of the United States, and ulitimately he becomes thier leader. Along they way he learns the truth about his father and his own abilities.Despite some blatant forshadowing by Mr Cashill this novel has great unpredictable plot twist and suspensce. It rates with the best of any Ayn Rand novel, like An Ayn Rand novel it has a positive ending unlike an Ayn Rand novel this one is totaly belivable! An absulute most read. I hope someone has the gutts to make it a major motion picture (Though I wouldn't hold my breath)

Rating: Summary: 2006: Chautauqua Rising Review: Jack Cashill's realistic political adventure makes engrossing reading. Unlike the many cookie-cutter political thrillers that are based on far-fetched scenarios, Chautauqua projects current trends into a totalitarian - but believable - future. Cashill uses his extensive experience and skills in the media and politics to communicate an understanding of how people on all sides think. He conveys to the reader his love and of America. Once I started reading, I was hooked.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining and intriguing characters make this a fun read Review: Just wanted to say that Mr. Cashill has written a great novel. I found it difficult to put down and really loved the ending--a real shocker. My wife also loved the book and noted that was the best book she has read since I talked her into reading Atlas Shrugged several years ago.
