Summary: A book that makes you think!
Review: Since it's written in the first person, I think it helps to give this book a special spin. It's Max's words we read, and he's the quiet one, the follower?, the introspective one. And he ends up with all the answers, doesn't he?

Bank, the leader, the vocal one, the protector?, is the one the story's about. Or is it Max's story?

Two missing girls, one from the past, and one from the present, ties the four corners together. And while I thought I had figured the story out; I never got black or white, but gray.

For me, the book could have been shorter. But maybe, it was because I wanted to know the ending so badly. I'm still not sure I know it!

Summary: Great story, great presentation
Review: Sometimes it seems a bit hard to keep track of exactly where a switch in time takes place, but the twists and turns of this story keep you interested enough. Being the fann that I am, I also must put in a good word for the naration.

Summary: Strayed too often, for too long in the characters past
Review: Started off good but quickly degraded to a boring, uninteresting mess. The story vacillates between Macks past, Banks past, Banks daughters disappearance 10 yrs prior and the search efforts, that it consumes the present search for the missing Tamara Shipley.

The story was just plain dull/blah. No action. Dull dialogue. Dull characters. Not recommended

Summary: NOT TOO GREAT!
Review: The book was just OK! I mean the author kept going back and forth from present to past and it got very confusing. Also there was a lot of unnecessary nonsense in it too! Hope Mr. Craig gets better.

Summary: Very complex mystery...
Review: The complexity of this story--the known and the unknown, the actions taken and not taken--reveals much about two men who have been connected since childhood. A very thought-provoking read.

Summary: Not so tense thriller
Review: This book starts off promising much, delivering a story that has elements of intrigue and suspense. However the writing style (first person) and the insistence of the author to try and add twists wherever possible leaves you reading something that has worn thin by the time the twist arrives. Its almost as if you'd rather read about the secondary character Banks, rather than the main character. The two share a past, and now the same fate, both have had their daughters go missing. Its a good book, but there are better thrillers out there that can keep you page-turning. I recommend reading the other books by Craig Holden, as these are more tense.

Summary: A wake-up call to Americans
Review: This book, FOUR CORNERS OF NIGHT, is about a typical American family in the late 20th century. Sad as it is, most families are forced to deal with a member/s who are unfortunately illegal drug abusers, undisciplined teenages, dysfunctional adults and overall families without God as the head of their household. So, pick any household in USA and this story is about thier extended or neculus family.

The author, Craig Holden, does a find job of showing the impact of rape, drugs, adultry, prostitution, gangs, and all other manners of social unrest on the USA society today. With over 1 million families in America suffering, our nation is quickly going down, down, down and gone. Our American government sold us out to the lure of illegal drugs which begat the destruction of the American family. Without the family, there is no military, no society and ultimately no America as we have grown to love.

Therefore, before we start to lay the blame on the individuals who fall captive to the above stated vices, give due consideration to the powers to be who made all of this uglyness available. I am as much American as any patriate, but we must root out the cancers which our government has allowed to flourish if we are to survive.
Going to War with Asia is not the way to survive but another of the cancers that must be remove from the American's agenda.

So, thank you Craig Holden, for making it painfully simple for any American to understand what must be done to save our country today. Be sure to forward your book to the members of Congress with my book review attached. Prayerfully, we are not too late to make a difference.

Summary: A thriller for people who appreciate moral complexity.
Review: This is my second Holden novel, and I liked both. His flaw, if you care about such things, is that he sometimes makes characters serve the purposes of his plot by acting in ways that are hard to believe. But if you can accept that, if you can grant Holden that much license, he rewards you by delivering novels that are rich with complex and believable characters caught in fascinating circumstances. Holden writes for adults who understand the multilayered quality of good and evil in human nature.

Summary: A great read!
Review: This is one of those rare books that truly shocks the reader. The twist the story takes is wrenching. The writing is lyrical, poetic and heartbreaking. The final pages ache with the unanswerable questions we all ask ourselves..do we really know what's in the heart of a friend? Is there redemption in death? Don't miss this one!
