Summary: In the Event of My Death
Review: Even though I am not a mystery lover, I really enjoyed this book. It was very easy to read and was suspenseful throughout each page. The best thing was that Thompson provided you with a detailed description of all the characters so you can never pinpoint which one had the most destructive personality. The ending is really surprising yet Thompson gave you more then enough information to figure who done it and why. I went on to read another one of her books.. Dont Close Your Eyes and found that to also to be as great.

Review: Even though I have never read many mystery books but this is a very good book and I am glad I read it. Carlene Thompson is a very good author and I would love to read another book by her. She has sparked an interest in mystery in me. I would recomend this book to any one who doesn't mind a real good thriller.

Review: I absolutely loved this book! An "easy" read, hard-to-put-down and kept you guessing until the very end...I am reading another book of Carlene Thompson's "Black for Remembrance" and it is going to be just as thrilling I can tell. I love her work so much, I just ordered her other two books. Great writer...if you love great mysteries, pick up on of her books...you'll love it!

Review: I found this book in a local store and picked it up. Well, I found another favorite author of mine. This book really makes you think if you know your friends as good as you think. WHO CAN YOU TRUST? That's the question in this book. I'm looking forward to Carlene's next one!

Summary: Average, somewhat disappointing tale.
Review: I guess I am in the minority here with this book. It was by no means a horrible book. It just hackneyed. The plot used every current and popular issue...let's see she hit the occult (barely thank heavens), SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome with none of the attached medical arguments concerning it), irresponsibility by teenagers, of course a independent woman who decides to investigate the murder on her own, infidelity, fanatical religious beliefs (in West Virginia for heaven's sake...isn't that a little prejudicial) which border on or lead to insanity. There are so many characters that none of them get fleshed out to become real to the reader. All of the issues were touched on momentarily and in such a confusing manner that in the long run the mystery seemed contrived. The author makes Everyone look possibly guilty, and all the other woven in story lines such as the mother who was supposed to have abandoned her family, comes in at the last minute...then leaves and we have no idea where she went or why she is even necessary to the story. It could have been a decent mystery, but the writing leaves much to be desired. ...

Review: I liked this book, but not as much as I expected I would. Pros: The characters were all interesting and complex. It was an original idea for a book. There were plenty of twists and turns. Cons: A slow start and a weak ending. The murder's identity turned out to be a surprise, but I thought that he/she was a poor choice to be the killer.

Review: I loved this book! It got me hooked from the very beginning and I could hardly put it down. Every time I thought I had the killer figured out, I would change my mind after the next chapter. This is most definitely a page-turning book. I also read Tonight You're Mine and it was also good, but I did enjoy this one more. If you enjoy the mystery-suspense type of book, you'll love this one!

Review: I loved this book. It was my first Carlene Thompson book. But it only made me want to read everything she has written. I was on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I had it figured out I was thrown a curve. Who was the killer? I changed my mind several times. It all started when 6 teenage girls formed a group called the Six of Hearts. They would practice witch craft and have secrets. Then something bad happened one night. They swore each other to secrecy. It is 13 years later and someone wants the girls dead. Laurel is still in the same hometown. And she is getting scared. Who does she trust? The last surviving girls are afraid as the others are being killed. You won't want to put this book down. And yes you will be surprised!
