Summary: Beware! You Won't Be Able To Put This Book Down
Review: Messiah provides non-stop thrills from the first to the very last page. Starling weaves a variety of interesting sub-plots, all of which converge successfully at the end--and what an ending it is!! Make show that when you sit down to read Messiah you won't need to get up any time soon, because once you start you're eyes are going to be glued to the pages and you're going to lose all track of time.

Summary: cracker, by thomas harris
Review: that's it, really. Which is excellent. Although Harris gets way too much credit considering his attenuated output the last 20 years. Red is to be played by Robbie Coltrane, don't you think, and if the villain is more terrifying in the abstract than in person, well, that's to be expected. The emotional logic ties up, which is nice. Really good work, well written, I look forward to the next one.

Summary: A welcome addition to the genre
Review: I can't wait for another by this young, extremely talented writer. I did find many similaritites to Thomas Harris, (which I welcome anytime) but Starling has added a few grisly twists to make this tale his own. For any fans of the psychological thriller, this is a must read. I did guess who the killer was about half way through, but couldn't put the book down until I'd found out WHY he'd done it. Starling is quite adept at keeping the reader guessing and second guessing. Bravo!!

Summary: Meticulously well thought out. Excellent for a first book.
Review: The story grabs you immediately with intense graphic descriptions of the work at hand. I was totally immensed in the story and was astonished to find it to be Mr. Starlings first book! I enjoy horror books but to have a suspense story almost crossing the boundary was a double delight. Bravo!

Summary: A very good book indeed
Review: I believe this is Boris Starlings first book, and its a damn good one too. The book starts off at a good fast pace, but all the Bible stuff near the middle started to bore me after awhile. But once you get past that, it picks up again and it don't stop till the end.

Summary: One to watch
Review: It seemed to me like the writer really enjoyed Thomas Harris's work. I can't blame him. At times to me it seemed as if we were drifting a bit too close to Harris's literary style. The plot was very unique, though far-fetched. I think Mr. Starling has a very promising future. I'll pick up his next work.

Summary: Great read, but I figured it out early!
Review: I loved this book, but I had figured out early who the killer was... but not the why until close to the end. An excellent page turner, and not disappointing at all. Poor Red; he just doesn't get a break.

Summary: Entertaining read!
Review: It's been a long time since I have read a book that kept me entertained. Too often, I find that I can figure out the ending after the first 20 pages! The pace kept me up late at night; then it ended with a bang instead of winding down with a whimper.

Summary: A well written thriller . . .
Review: I work in a bookstore and came across 'Messiah' by accident. I'm glad I read it because it is a well written thriller. Boris Starling is going to be a great talent (if he's not already) and I can't wait for his next book. Any information on your next book, Boris???

Summary: 7 anyone?
Review: It took me three murdurs to realize that this guy had seen the movie "7" and decided to rewrite it using a different set of biblical references. I then had to read the rest of the book to confirm that I had figured everything out by the second part. I felt cheated and thought it was a huge waste of time. I guess if you hadn't seen the movie it might be a good read.
