Rating: Summary: Best J. Kellerman yet Review: Billy Straight is the best of Jonathan Kellerman's works todate. The plot grabs you from the beginning, the characters arebelievable and I found Billy's view of abuse and homelessness to be very realistic. END
Rating: Summary: One of Kellerman's Best! Review: Kellerman keeps coming through with the good stuff, and it does not stop with Billy Straight. This is one of the most freekin' violent books I've read... yet it seems to appeal to me. Coincidence...I don't sink so!
Rating: Summary: A Great Read! Review: I have read all of the "Alex Delaware" novels and was slightly disappointed that this book wasn't about this character, until I read it. It was great! It was thrilling, intense, but too quickly over. I highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: I wish I hadn't read this book ... Review: ... because then I could look forward to a great story and hours of thrilling suspension! I only just recently 'discovered' J.K. and I must say I haven't read a bad book by him so far. And Billy Straight is definitely the best. This is an absolutely great story with plenty of layers and a good plot. I was unable to put it down once I got started and it cost me a good nights sleep and ruined the next day - but who cares :-) Do yourself a favour and read this book - you won't regret it. And then check out some of the other books by Jonathan Kellerman...
Rating: Summary: Kellerman never disappoints Review: J. Kellerman is my favorite author and I never can wait for his next novel. I am bipolar and the psychological attributes of his characters are so accurate. I too thought I would miss Alex but Billy Straight explored a patient's mind which I thought was an excellent new perspective. Perhaps this can be the springboard for a sequel?
Rating: Summary: A new direction Review: This is not an Alex Delaware novel, though he does have a cameo appearance. It is a novel of suspense involving one of Kellermans' most appealing protaganists ever, Billy Straight. If you liked his Delaware series [which I feel has absolutely run its course] you will be charmed by some of the characters in this book, and amazed by the quality of the writing here.
Rating: Summary: Not bad Review: I did enjoy this book, however, I wished it had revolved more around Billy than Petra. Billy was much more interesting. I would reccommend it.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good, but flawed Review: Billy Straight is probably the 5th or 6th Kellerman novel I've read and I'd have to say it's not one of my favorites. Overall, I enjoyed it but I thought it was a bit slow. As I was getting toward the end, I had to fight the temptation to skip to the last page and find out if I was right about who the killer was. I also thought the grandmother character was unnecessary. Her presence felt "tacked on" and contrived to give Billy someplace to go. I enjoy Kellerman's books enormously, but this one could have used a little editing.
Rating: Summary: Dinwiddie's Opinion Review: Although the subject matter was depressing Billy Straight was a very good mystery - right up to the very end!
Rating: Summary: One of Kellerman's best Review: A real page turner. A truly insightful book of life in the Los Angeles area. Having almost become a resident of Santa Barbara I almost know where the house is. I thoroughly enjoy Petra and hope she will appear again in another book -- maybe as a partner to Delaware. Think Stu is a bit too reticent to be her partner. One suggestion to Kellerman -- we really don't need all the vulgar language to enjoy your wonderful stories, but if you feel it is necessary to get your point across will still read everything you write. .
