Summary: One of the better Publish America Authors...
Review: I think this writer is one of the best Publish America Authors! Out of the several thousand writers this publishing house has Christy Tillery French is my favorite. She is a great writer that has no problem switching genres. She can go from Romantic Comedy to Thrilling Suspense as easily as any writer I have ever known. Great Writer...Great Book! Wayne's Dead is one of my favorite stories so far this year and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see it turned into a Movie Of The Week before the end of the year! I, for one, would like to see just that!!!

Summary: My Kind of Book
Review: "Wayne's Dead" is the kind of book I love - the storyline moves quickly, the plot isn't too complicated or convoluted, and there's plenty of information regarding the investigation and forensics, not to mention the romantic twist the author has added to the story. Only problem I had was I wanted it to be longer.

Being from the South, I liked the Southern flavor and dialogue. Plus liked that French placed the book in Knoxville, TN, which isn't far from where I live. French isn't one to waste a lot of words and space on descriptive - another thing I liked. I get bored with books that explain every little thing in detail.

Jackson Daniels' partner Marvin was a fun character who kept the book from being too "dark". The forensics guy was another great character who lightened the read. Daniels is dark and intense and I'd like to see the author redeem him in another book.

A good book. I hope to see more from this author.

Summary: I Didn't Want to Put This Book Down!
Review: I was interested in this book due to MPD plus the fact that it's a thriller. I started this book late at night and did not want to put it down. Every chance I got, I found myself picking it up and reading it. French gives her characters life - the dialogue is great, the characters well-developed. I was particularly fascinated with the killer and the reasoning behind the murders. It even became understandable. Daniels is one of the best male characters I've seen - flawed and intense yet a man who has deep feelings. I hope French brings him back, along with his partner, Marvin, and Bogie, the forensic scientist.

I anxiously look forward to what this author publishes next. This is a writer I think will move up the ladder quickly and I have become a fan.

Summary: Interesting and Enthralling!
Review: "Wayne's Dead" held me captive the entire time I read this book. I didn't want to put it down and read it straight through without interruption.

The book moves at a fast pace. The psychological background of the killer is explained to the point of almost being understandable. The chapters that deal with the killer and psychologist are spellbinding. I like the way French weaves romance into the story through the investigative detective, Jackson Daniels. The forensics are great. The CSI investigator, Bogie, is a great character, as is Daniels' partner, Marvin.

I hope French brings these characters back. I would love to see Jackson Daniels in another thriller.

Fantastic book - one I'll read more than once, I'm sure.

Summary: Bought this book due these reviews
Review: And you all were right.

This book was a captivating read from start to finish. I couldn't put it down. It is a rather short novel but very good. I felt the characters were well drawn and eventually, I did guess the perp at about the first or second chapter. A good mystery that was very good but in a class of its own. I wish there were more books out there by this author that I can find. Thanks to your reviews, I am glad to have read this book.

Summary: An exciting book you will enjoy!
Review: I have had the pleasure of reading both books by this talented new author, "Chasing Horses," and "Wayne's Dead," and I found it amazing how easily she can go from writing a wonderful romantic comedy to a suspenseful and gripping tale of a serial killer. Look for Ms. French to edge her way up the ladder on most bestseller's list! And the best part of it is that she deserves it, her talent is very obvious in her newest story, Wayne's Dead. A book I know you will enjoy as much as I did.

Summary: Midwest Book Review - fast and fascinating read
Review: Ms. French has created a tidy thriller here, beginning with the prologue and ending with the epilogue's last line. The characters are believable and carry this story along swiftly with gritty realism. That the reader suspects from the beginning who the murderer might be does not dilute the suspense.

Jackson Daniels - Jack to his friends - is a lonely police detective whose empty life has worn him down. When a serial killer stalks successful lawyers in Knoxville, there are few clues to help Jack and his partner Marvin break the case. Each crime scene they encounter is awash with the sight and scent of blood, every victim has been mutilated. And above each death bed the murderer has scrawled, "Wayne's Dead". Every facet of their investigation leads to a dead end.

Jack meets and is immediately attracted to the beautiful and childlike Gillian.
Starkly sexual one minute and innocent enough to break Jack's heart the next, her changeability keeps him off center and bemused. All Jack knows is that he can't remember loving or being loved so thoroughly in the past, and can't imagine life without her.

The author interweaves Jack's love story with a serial killer's handiwork in ways that make Wayne's Dead a fast and fascinating read. This is not a story for children or sensitive adults due to realistic dialog, violent scenarios, and mature themes. But those who enjoy adult thrillers will find it worth their while.

Summary: Gripping Psychological Thriller!
Review: Hats off to Christy French! She has written an exciting psychological thriller with her newest book, Wayne's Dead. Her characters are authentic, her dialogue is accurate and real with a slight flavor of Southern regional phrasing appropriate to he book's setting - Tennessee. Her research into Multiple Personality Disorder is scholarly, convincing, and text-book accurate, giving the plot a gripping and frightening account of murder and mutilation of the worst kind. The reader is kept on the edge of his seat while the story develops into a maze of turns and twists as the authorities seek to solve the bizarre murders perpetrated by a demented or demented individuals. A highly recommended read for lovers of psychological thrillers!

Summary: I Like the Fast Pace
Review: Being a person who likes to read but doesn't have a lot of time on my hands, I found "Wayne's Dead" to be just the type of book for me. I tend to skip over parts in books by some of the best-selling authors whose tend to get lost in the descriptive or the technical. This book moves at a quick pace, with dialogue that reads the way people actually talk, and characters I'd like to see again. The investigation part is handled with clarity, and the mental disorder the killer has gives the whole thing an interesting dimension. I like the way the psychologist plays into the story line. This author has joined my list of favorites and I'm purchasing more books for Christmas gifts.
