Summary: Compelling Book
Review: "Wayne's Dead" is a real page-turner. I was captivated from the beginning and didn't want to put the book down. Ms. French has an engaging style and does not waste words or passages. Recommended.

Summary: Wayne may be dead, but he's still in my head
Review: Wow. This is one of those books you think about long after you've finished reading it. I was hooked from the prologue. My only regret is I wanted more. I hope the author brings Jackson Daniels back so her readers will know if he ever forgives himself. Great ending. Well, so were the beginning and middle. A fast read, but one worth the time and money.

Summary: Unforgettable
Review: I read Ms. French's first book "Chasing Horses", which is a romantic comedy, and was surprised at the difference in the two books. To be honest, I'm not sure which one I like best.

"Wayne's Dead" deals with a dark subject - a serial killer, Jackson Daniels is dark and brooding, and Gillian McKenzie unstable and mysterious. Jack's partner, Marvin, makes the story fun at times - a man who think he's a real bad boy, although he really isn't, thanks to his wife.

Fantastic book. One I still think about and know I will remember.

Summary: My Book Club Loved This One!
Review: My book club picked this book because of the psychological disorder suffered by the killer and we were not disappointed with the read. Of course, some think multiple personality disorder is a real disorder while others think the opposite, but that made for a fun discussion: did the killer really have MPD or was it all an excuse to escape prosecution?

The characters are great, the dialogue fits well, and the quick pace of the book perfect for someone like me, who hates long, drawn-out story lines or descriptions.

We've chosen another book by Ms. French to read - "Chasing Demons". That's how much we like this author.

Summary: Page Turner
Review: "Wayne's Dead" is one fast read - not only because it's written at a fast pace but because you become so absorbed in the story, time seems to fly. Some of the chapters are chilling. Marvin, Jack's partner, is a great character and adds humor to an otherise dark subject. Jack's brooding nature is enticing. The author left enough of a dangle at the end that I wonder if "Wayne" is going to be back for more murder and mayhem.

Good book.

Summary: Thrilling Thriller
Review: Add me to the list of reviewers who really enjoyed this book. I can't add much more to what's been said about it except if you're looking for a different author in this field, try Ms. French. The read is fast, the characters are well-developed and seem like real people, and being a Southerner, I found the Southern overtones very well done and the dialogue perfect.

I searched this author here and see she has three more books, which I'm going to order. I like her style.

Summary: Compelling
Review: A friend recommended this book to me, and she wasn't kidding when she said I wouldn't soon forget it. It's a compelling read, moves quickly, and somehow works its way into your mind so that you're thinking about it long after you've read it.

Some have compared this author's style with this book to John Sandford and his Prey series. Does remind me of that, although more skeletal and more a thriller than mystery.

Bravo!

Summary: MPD Angle Perfect
Review: I liked the author's explanation behind the killer's psychological state. Thought the killer was portrayed quite well. The investigating detectives and their speech patterns fit perfectly with the location and contemporary style. Realistic and fast-paced, this book kept my interest going. I recommend this one.

Summary: Whew!
Review: I stay pretty busy, so don't have much time for reading - usually between assignments. I was so engrossed in this book, I didn't want to put it down. The story is interesting and the pace is so fast, before you know it, you're deep into the book and reluctant to break away from it.

Good book - I want to read this author again.
