Summary: "Nothing great but it's okay"
Review: This book was recommend to me by another writer that frequents a few of the 'Book Club' sites on the internet. After buying and reading the book here is my HONEST OPINION of it. I thought "Wayne's Dead" was an average book at best, nothing spectacular, or grandiose, as all the glowing reviews suggest. Am I disappointed? You bet, especially after what I had to shell out for the book. I do think however, Ms. French, does show some talent, but then again, it is the kind of talent that grows and develops through many years of experience, it doesn't happen over night. Take my word for it. It didn't happen over night for me either. I too, write books for a living, but of course, my books are Mass Market and not POD. If you are into stories that are carbin copies of books that have already been turned into a movie of the week or as Mr. Savoy so eloquently puts it "The Next Box Office Smash Hit" then by all means buy the book and read it. But, if I were you, I'd see if my local library had a copy first. This story is 'OLD NEWS' (ever hear of the 'Box Office Smash Hit,' "Basic Instinct?")

Summary: Captivating
Review: Christy Tillery French author of 'Chasing Horses' has showcased her superb talent with her second novel "Wayne's Dead." Female serial killers are rare but the multifaceted protagonist in this page-turner of a second novel is penned with true insight. French's use of action and dialogue to move the narrative forward is skillfully done. The writing is concise and Mss. French employs great wisdom in her treatment of MPD. Intrigue more than suspense will keep you glued to the pages of this well plotted thriller. What an inspiration you are, Christy. I can foresee "Wayne's Dead" on best seller lists everywhere. Congratulations on this well written excellent story, it is a sure winner.

Summary: Shades of John Sanford
Review: Although the final results could be imagined, it was still good to the finish to see how the mystery played out. Could be compared favorably with Sanford's Prey series; or many of the medical thrillers I have read, such as Michael Palmer's. Although I know the author somewhat personally through correspondence, I found myself forgetting that it was written by someone I know, but instead had the feeling that it was written by some already-famous writer. And I believe Christy is getting there quickly!

Summary: You Will Not Want to Put This Book Down!
Review: "Wayne's Dead" by Christy Tillery French is one of the best psychological thrillers I've ever read. The setting is Knoxville,TN, and the book tracks the investigation into a serial killer who has begun to commit murders there, only leaving one single clue behind at each crime scene: the words "Wayne's Dead" written on the wall in blood, using a severed body part from the deceased (I'll let you read the book to find out what the body part is).

This book also allows the reader to explore the mental illness behind the serial killer, why the killer murders and mutilates the victims, and what the serial killer is thinking via the psychologist who is treating the killer.

French is great at dialogue, developing her characters. She is not stingy in giving information into the investigation and shows knowledge of forensic science, leaving me wondering if she has worked in this field.

I thought I had who the killer was figured out, then decided I didn't, and was kept guessing until French actually revealed the person - a shock, believe me!

I guaranty you will love this book. It's enthralling and edifying, and you'll be talking about it afterward. A great read by an author who I predict will break out and become a best-seller.

Summary: "Impressive"
Review: "Wayne's Dead" by Christy Tillery French is the second book by this writer I have had the pleasure of reading and reviewing.

Ms French posses a rare talent to switch from one genre to another as easily as Bruce Wayne can switch from Batman to...well, you get the idea.

For a writer to crossover from romantic/comedy to compelling/suspense is a very difficuilt task to achieve, but this writer makes the transformation with ease and style. I think Ms. French is on her way to the big time in a big way and "Wayne's Dead" is reason I say this...A compelling story that had me more than captived...fascinated would be more like it!

The characters in this thrilling tale of murder and suspense were very believable and true to real life. The dialogue interesting and one definately from the South. And the plot very exciting and well thoughtout. A pulsating combination to be sure!

"Wayne's Dead" by Christy Tillery French could very well be the next "Box Office Smash Hit"

Summary: Grisly, tough, page turning tale
Review: Wayne's Dead demonstrates author French's ability to write a book that is grisly, tough and as real as it gets in the underbelly of the crime/psychotic world. With much attention to detail and believeable language, French exhibits a sense of style that could easily launch her a job as a writer on CSI, Law and Order or any of the "parental discretion" crime shows offered these days. Wayne's Dead is an outstanding story of a twisted soul working for retribution and how the crime is solved.

Summary: An Amazing Murder Mystery Not To Be Missed!
Review: I wish I could give this book more than five stars...it is that good!

Christy French is one of my favorite writer's today...her books are always well worth the read...the stories are well-thoughtout and executed, leaving "WE READERS" anxiously turning the pages wanting to read more!

The characters seem so real, and the dialogue fits each character like a glove. The chemistry between characters are very emotional and heartfelt, and the plot is sure to please the toughest die-hard mystery fan!

Move over Janet Evanovich and Kay Hooper make room for the next 'Queen' of Mystery and Suspence!

I love "Wayne's Dead" I am still thinking about the story almost a week after reading the story. It is almost as though the story was ripped right out of todays headlines! A very powerful and moving story that I know everyone is going to enjoy!

Take '10' Christy you've earned it!

Summary: If this story had been longer I would have rated it 5 stars!
Review: "Wayne's Dead" by Christy Tillery French, is an impressive story taking center stage in Knoxville Tennesse.

A story that is so loaded with tension I couldn't flip through the pages quickly enough.

A short read, but none-the-less a most enjoyable one. I look forward to reading more from this new writer!

A 'High Five' on a job well done!

Summary: Enthralling Psychological Thriller!
Review: I became a fan of this author after reading her first book, "Chasing Horses," which is a romantic comedy, and took advantage of her publisher's prepublication offer. I was surprised to find she had written in a totally different category with this book, her second, which is on the other end of the spectrum from comedy, proving that Ms. French has the ability to write about either "light" or "dark" issues and write well.

The author's style is unique, and once again she has written a book which moves at a fast pace and kept me interested throughout - in fact, I read this one in one sitting. A fantastic book that lets the reader peek into the mind of serial killer suffering from multiple personality disorder, while keeping the reader guessing throughout as to who the killer actually is.

I read where her agent compared the book to "Basic Instinct." Take it from me, this book is better!
