Summary: Nora Roberts does it again!
Review: I found Nora Roberts quite by accident a few months ago and have been buying her books like candy ever since. This one was one of the best I have read yet!! Romance, murder, mystery and love all set in a small, southern community. Who can ask for more? The plot has plenty of twists and turns and not without humor! You will think you know who is doing the murdering around Innocence, but you are definately in for a shocking ending! A great read!!

Summary: Marvelously entertaining . . .
Review: Nora Roberts is one hum-dinger of a story-teller! Before the first page has been read, she's enticed the reader right into the rest of the story. Combined with the gift of a smooth, graceful style of writing, she also has a terrific ear for language and dialogue. It seems that she never puts a foot wrong.

I've read more than a few of her category romance novels and found them to be better than most of that variety of books, and while I have to admit I don't much care for the new Robb books -- I'll also freely state that it's because of me, the reader -- not her, the writer. The books of hers that I truly adore are the big, mainstreamy type books with the two contradictory-word titles: Brazen Virtue, Genuine Lies, Public Secrets, etc. In my opinion, no writer today does this kind of book any better than does Ms. Roberts.

Nearly every word on nearly every page convinces the reader that Ms. Roberts has spent a lot of time in a sleepy, dusty delta town. Maybe she has, but it still can't get more convincing than this.

It would be difficult if not impossible to imagine a more unlikely pair of friends, let alone lovers, than classical violinist Caroline Waverly, and Tucker Longstreet. I defy any woman capable of breathing to turn away from Tucker, though, and indeed I might almost wish for a clone of him just for myself. However, these two disparate souls do meet, and slowly come to understand and trust each other, even as a serial killer turns the sleepy little town into one verging on panic. Wonderful characters inhabit Innocence, Mississippi, making the awfulness of the crimes seem even worse than they are. It slowly becomes obvious that it's one of their own who is committing these atrocities. Several times I thought I knew the identity of the killer, but Ms. Roberts fooled me completely! A marvelous, multi-textured, unforgettable book.

Summary: Murder, Mystery, Romance, It's got it all
Review: One of my favorites, Carnal Innocence, is a great book. Nora takes you into the South and gives you a great look at how life there really is. The mystery is definitely not solvable until the end so it keeps you going. The romance is hot, steamy, and will leave you breathless. A must read for any Nora fans out there!

Summary: A Good Novel to begin on a rainy day
Review: This is a novel that I really enjoyed. I've read some others by Nora Roberts and was somewhat bored, but not by this one. It had the usual romance and intrique. It kept my interest with the dual twists and turns of a love affair and murder mystery. The characters are very loveable.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A hot and humid murder mystery.
Review: Nora Robert just gets better and better. I haven't even finished this novel yet, and I'm not usually drawn to mysteries, but this one has me reading late into the night and every chance I get at work. As usual, Nora's character's are believable and the dialogue is witty and sharp. I love the flawed but likable Tucker, the wary Caroline, the colorful townfolk and the ride Nora Roberts takes us on trying to guess who really did it, as nearly everyone is suspect !

Summary: I was surprised about the ending
Review: I read this book several weeks ago. Tack and Caroline made a sweet couple. Tack was a much stronger lead character than Caroline and I wanted to choke her for being so passive most of the time. As far as plots go, I enjoyed the tempo of the book and the many other characters. I enjoyed the book and will continue to read Nora Robert's books, her romance and whoduit setups go hand in hand.

Summary: A Page Turner
Review: I try and read for a half hour before I go to sleep everyday, but with this book, I was reading at least 1 hour every night and stayed in on Saturday to finish it. An excellent book with plot twists that you would never expect.

Summary: A touching southern story
Review: It was a typical murder-romance with an unexpected ending which made the book better than most romance novels.

Summary: Guilty pleasure
Review: I generally avoid Romance novels -- and wouldn't normally rate one this highly -- but this one was recommended on the basis of its mystery/suspense elements and, I must say, it was a guilty pleasure!

Innocence, Mississippi, where celebrated concert violinist Caroline Waverly has come for a rest at the home inherited from her grandparents, has a serial killer on the loose. One of the first people she meets is neighbor Tucker Longstreet -- impossibly gorgeous, improbably indolent, wickedly charming, and who just happens to be on the sheriff's list of suspects since he had dated all of the murder victims. Naturally, sparks fly between Caroline and Tucker and, predictably, she detests him at first but nonetheless finds herself drawn to him. Things heat up when the deranged father of one of the murdered women shoots up Caroline's house with her and Tucker in it. The characters are extraordinarily three-dimensional and quite likeable, particularly Tucker's visiting cousin Lulu, a geriatric firecracker. Ms. Roberts's portrayal of Southern customs and small-town mores is impeccable. As more women die in Innocence, Caroline's feelings toward Tucker gradually change from suspicion and distrust to support in the face of his interrogation by the FBI. He can't be a killer -- she's falling in love with him. There is, of course, the requisite romance and sex, but the level of suspense continually mounts and builds to a shattering freight-train of a climax. All I will say is that the unexpected ending completely blew me away.
