Summary: Good start. Great middle. Abrupt, weak ending.
Review: The threads of the two separate setting came magically together by the middle of the story. Great science fiction genre style of writing, with a glossary included, for those less savvy in dealing with DNA and its future scientific possibilities. The characters were extremely flat..some were mentioned just in passing...no depth of emotion or humanity about them. Most dialog amounted to just passing banter, or trite lines. Over-contrived plot with a very implausible, fractured story line. The novel did build to a cresendo .but fell flat. Much more was expected after the set of main characters from NY and Africa finally met. Robin Cook really dropped the ball in the end. So many unanswered questions. This could have been a major thriller of the highest order. But......it was as if Cook was under a deadline.....and just "ended" the book.

Summary: Good but without carefully planned out ending.
Review: This book is in the same line as all of the other books written by R.C. It can be too technical for those that are not medically informed. The ending of the book was not well thought out and abruptly ended as if he didn't know what else to write about. The book mildly kept my interest.

Summary: FAST PACED READING
Review: I started this book late on a Sunday morning and finished it by that night. It was very hard to stop reading. Robin Cook has wrote another interesting book. You would not be suprised to read about a similar situation in today's news. I look forward to more books from Robin Cook.

Summary: This book ROCKED!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I love Robin Cook, and this was definitely one of the best books I have ever read. It is very exciting especially at the end(as is with every book), humourous at times, and made me read super fast at the end with the thrilling anticipation. The people who reviewed this book say that the ending was not too good....well all I can say is if you dont read the Epilogue, and just leave off right before it, you will love the book. The problem with the ending is that you dont know what becomes of some major characters, and the bonobos(I mean...what if they start reproducing?). But still....the book was awesome. Robin......you rock!!!!!!!! Keep on writing... and those of you who did not read this book yet...go on and buy it!!!

Summary: great book, terible ending
Review: This book is one of the best books i have ever read. Robin Cook paints a vivid picture filled with suspense and mystery. Marked by his trademark "bad endings," this book is no exception. But he does leave room to redeem himself in his next novel about his two lovable characters (Jack Stapelton and Laurie Montgomery), which of course were first introduced in his book Contagion. Chromosome 6 grabs you right from the beginning and never lets go until you have finished it, then leaves wishing for more.

I loved it, despite the terrible ending.

If you liked Robin Cook's other books, you will LOVE this one!!!

Summary: Moronic Characters, dull undeveloped plot
Review: This is the first and last Cook novel I will read. Although the idea is an interesting one, I could not think of a worst way to develop it. The characters were completely unrealistic. I found that I could not relate to any of them. The plot was a complete dis-jointed effort that I think my 16 year old son could have written better. And the (ending)?, well to say that it lacked any imagination would be gross understatement. Find another read.

Summary: Cooks starts quite well but still cannot find an ending.
Review: In Chromosome 6 Robin Cook sets a great scene, builds both characters and suspense but as usual comes up with a lame ending. Like other Cook works, I rate this book six stars for all parts except the ending. Perhaps, the publisher should omit the ending and allow the reader to supply his own.

Summary: This is one of Robin Cook's best books yet!!!
Review: Cook has an incredible ability to make medical jargon comprehensible to anyone, his characters were extremely well depelop. I found myself making time where I didn't have any just to finish the book. Don't don't let me tell you about it, get the book!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent read, best he has written!
Review: I have read many of Cook's books, including Mutation, Outbreak, Coma, and others, and I really enjoyed all of them. The medical technology was very interesting, and the characters were excellent. In Chromosome 6 though, the characters were really given a chance to develop. The different characters were separated at the beginning of the book, but all came together slowly as the book progressed. I would recommend this book to anyone!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Slow, mediocre and predictable
Review: Not one of Robin Cook's best, it was slow to develop and predictable. I finished it just to find out how it would end.
