Rating: Summary: What a drag! Review: The book started off well and had the elements of a great story. But towards the middle of the story, it became draggy and predictable. Verdict: Readable if you're suffering from insomnia!
Rating: Summary: NATURALLY BRILLIANT, AS USUAL!! Review: ANOTHER EXCELLENT NOVEL, ALWAYS VERY REALISTIC SUBJECTS. MAYBE BECOMING TOO REAL. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE.
Rating: Summary: Not as good as the others. Review: Chromosome 6 started out great. Intriguing and interesting. The farther i got into the book, however, the worse it got. Some of the characters struck me as not-so-bright. I caught on to what was going on very quickly. I like to be "in the dark" pretty much to the last page. Most of his books are like that but this one was so obvious it almost wasn't worth finishing. Also, the ending was extremely disappointing-no closure. Not one of his best works. I will continue reading Robin's writings though. I hope this one was a fluke.
Rating: Summary: Boring, dull, and poorly written, just another book Review: From the beggining till the end, this book is a boring and monotone manuscript. The tale is way too ficcional, making it hard to believe, therefore making it another Robin Cook book. It is a poorly written attemp on what could have been a story with some potential, but the author makes it a "I wanna get over with this as soon as possible book" adding gratuit accion, and chracaters that seem to come straight out of "Bored land" It is all in all, just another book written by just another author of NorthAmerican bestsellers.
Rating: Summary: Cassette Edition - OK Storyline, but I've heard better Review: I'm not going to discuss the average story line, as there have been plenty of other responses regarding this subject. Instead, I'd like to focus my review on the presentation of the audio cassette version. I thought that the reader did a poor job of presentation. There were far too many "pregnant pauses". So many pauses that it was difficult to tell when the tape had come to an end. Maybe he was finding his place on the page. The narrator's attempt at female dialog was pitiful. Putnam's production was nowhere near as good as Audio Renaissance's production of Fatal Cure. Although Putnam did insert some sound effects throughout the tape, some music at the end of each side would have been nice.
Rating: Summary: Incredible. . .and not to sound cliche, but a page turner !! Review: Cook puts together a highly realistic, believable story resulting in an intense , thought provoking book on the age-old possibilities of combining human and primate DNA for mass profit. A DEFINITE MUST READ !!!
Rating: Summary: Intriguing, thought provoquing, a good read Review: The story behind Chromosome 6 is fascinating. The characters are a logical consequence of the plot; that is, with one exception: a sympathetic but unrealistic Afro-American, which seems to be shoe-horned in the story. Up to here a 10 or a 9. Where I must offer slight criticism is in the development of the personality of the individuals. Too often does RC resort to stereotypes. Also I have a feeling that two of the characters already appeared in one of RC's previous novels: heroes carried from one novel to another tend to lose credibility. Still, well worth the 6 or 7 hours it will take you to read though it.
Rating: Summary: Robin Cook: Never Loses His Touch! Review: In Chromosome 6, Cook's newest novel, we face a plot similar to that in Blindsight. Full of fantastic twists and turns, and an outcome you won't believe!
Rating: Summary: Excellent read !! Review: Chromosome 6 provides an interesting scientific insight into the actions of modern man and their exploits of biological science . Cook managed to bring us closer to the evolution theory which was so interesting . Kudos !!
Rating: Summary: A genius' work Review: This book is one of the best books i've ever read. It joins present with past as well as re-introduces already encountered characters, who include cowardace, courage, sardonism and all typical and realistic personalities.
