Summary: Wonderful adventure with a well liked character
Review: I have always enjoyed the J PBeaumont character because the author worked out his problems over a period of time so that we were a part of his growth and development. To be truthful I also find him to be a sexually attractive and really interesting person. He is a vulnerable but believable person and yet he always manages to do the right thing. The author managed to bring tears to my eyes at the conclusion of this installment in the life of our hero.

Summary: Latest Jance book doesn't ring true
Review: I have been a great fan of J. P. Beaumont by Jance and was eager to read her latest book. I was very disappointed. Jance is a great writer and that comes through but the plot was very unsatisfying. She seems to think she has to develop a character so you begin to like them then kill them. In this book she seems to believe the more murders the better. The forecasts by the Native American just don't ring true. It is almost a cult killer book. I hope Jance will rethink her plots on the next book and not reach so high for the improbable and the gore. Let's let a few people we care about live. The murderer coming out of left field at the end was equally unsatistying.

Summary: I have always loved J.P. but not this one
Review: I have been patiently waiting the new J.P. beaumont book, but this time I was sadly disapointed. The mystery wasn't bad, but I hated the ending. I hope that this will not be the end for J.P., because I don't like the Joanna Brady series nearly as well.

Summary: Beau is back and irresistible!
Review: I loved this new Beaumont series book. Very easy reading, and very likable characters. I look forward to the next in the series, as I expect it will take an interesting turn. I recommend ALL the books in the J.P. Beaumont series.

Summary: Bubble Gum novel
Review: I sure am tired of paying full price for a "novel" when it turns out to be a bubble gum read. By the time the story unfolds the book is almost finished. Almost a short story

Summary: It's been 3 long years between book #13 & #14
Review: I was glad to see that Beau was back. This book takes some unexpected turns But the Seattle land marks and Native american ceramony's are well researched for realism. Her discribtion of Seattle is very good and I able to follow if in my mind knowing king and pierce county layout. I would just ask Ms. Jance please not another 3 years before you bring Beau back He is very populure

Summary: Jance needs to forget Indians when writing about Seattle.
Review: I was truly disappointed with this book -- boring! I didn't believe she could write such a poor book and wish she would leave the Indian rituals, etc for her books written about the Southwest as they are much more believable in that setting. Will try her again as I like P J Beaumont but even he was boring in this one. Need to hear more about his old friends, etc.

Summary: Loved it, but I'm afraid JP Beaumont won't be back!
Review: I've loved the Beaumont books since discovering the series in 1989 ... read all of them and the Arizona ones, too. (Seattle wins, hands down.) This story, with two unrelated cases as well as personal events in the lives of the main players, is one of the best in the series. Please don't let this be JP's last case! The events of this story seemed to affect JP more than some of the others, and the reader couldn't help but share his feelings. As always, Jance takes me back for another visit to Seattle, probably my favorite place in the world. I hope she's busy on another Beaumont book ... I'm waiting!

Summary: Jance does it again
Review: In a word: Wonderful! All of JA Jance's books are page turners all the way up to the end, and this one is no exception. You will find yoruself enthralled with this one. If you haven't read any of her other work, start with the Seattle series, but read them all!

Summary: Hopefully not the last of this series
Review: In this 14th. book in the J. P. Beaumont series, Beau and his partner Sue Danielson are investigating two separate cases. In the first one, an elderly women is found burned in her bed. Hints of blackmail and jealousy are turned up in the course of the investigation. The problem is deciding which one was the actual motive for the murder. The second case has to do with the bones of an Indian shaman which are discovered in a public park by some satanic, role-playing teenagers. There are many false leads and strange tales of fatal Indian curses which begin to have some basis in reality. In addition to working on these cases with Beau, Sue is dealing with an abusive ex-husband who is wooing their children with promises of a trip to Disneyland. When things don't go his way, he explodes into anger which effects both Sue and Beau in a life-changing series of events. This book has all the ingredients of a good mystery story, along with a developing relationship between two of its main characters. Faithful readers hope that Jance will continue this series with Beaumont headed in a new direction both professionally and personally.
