Rating: Summary: One of the best Robin Cook novels thus far Review: Robin Cook uses his special medical background to provide us with bone-chilling novels based in both fact and his wide imagination. This thriller evokes the fears of hospitals in most of us, and attacks managed care, as we all should!
Rating: Summary: Probably the most gripping medical thriller ever written! Review: It was absolutely fantastic!I was always scared of buying 'thick novels which are meant for nutty people and adults' but now I'm a big Robin Cook fan... One bad bit though,is that there are many medical terms. Also, 3 or 4 pages towards the end are boring . As a 15-yr.old, I'll rate it at 9.99999999999999.
Rating: Summary: Not one of his better books Review: This book started quite well. The characters were interesting and the plot was exciting. However, the book went all wrong with the suprise ending. It didn't fit with the rest of the book at all. The timing given for the villains deeds did not collaborate with actions at the beginning of the book. It felt like he hurried up and stuck an ending to the book. I was very disappointed.
Rating: Summary: OH MY GOD (I hope I don't end up in a hospital) !!! Review: Well, when I picked up Contagion, my dad had just finshed it. He didn't say if he liked it or not, he just said "read this book...NOW!" So, I did...It's the best medical thriller I have ever read ! I have to admitt, that I fell for Warren and Jack !! And I have become a very big Robin Cook fan, my friends say I'm crazy, reading books like that, only 16 !!! But, once read, you never go to bed :-)
Rating: Summary: A Fabulous Sci-Fi Mystery.... Review: Contagion grips you from the start and doesn't let go until the end. I would have to say this has been one of the best books he has written. I have read most of them and the rest seemed to be too much alike. This is a book I feel I will remember the characters from forever, especially Jack Stapleton. He was a very well developed character
Rating: Summary: BREATH-TAKING..... Review: .....period
Rating: Summary: Should be re-titled "Urban Terrorist Manual" Review: This book should be re-titled "Urban Terrorist Manual". While this book is a great work of fiction, I know that authors do a fair amount of research so the plot and action at least sound plausable. What scares me is that if live bacteria and virus cultures are so freely available to anyone with a valid Visa card, as Cook suggests, I can readily believe that a wacko minded eco-duffus, believing the planet is better off without humans, might try the scenario outlined in "Contagion". I HOPE that contagious virus cultures are not readily off the shelf commodities
Rating: Summary: Exciting, informative, suprising Review: This book is the type that will stay with you for days. I was hesitant about reading it because I don't usually like medical thrillers. But, Cook unfolded an unbelievable tale and kept me on the edge of my seat, guessing who would be the next to go. It is definitely a must read
Rating: Summary: The suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat! Review: Robin Cook has done it again! I read Contagion in less than 48 hours and was kept in nail-biting suspense until the end. This book is a must for those avid suspense readers. I never would have guessed the culprit
Rating: Summary: Wow! What a plot twist Review: You think the book is going to be another hum-drum medical thriller with some psycho running wild planting viruses in patients at hospitals. These books are interesting in their own right, but usually lack depth. The plot twist in Contaigon is so unexpected that it catches you completely off guard. The added complexity of race relations in Harlem adds an interesting dynamic. This was a good read until the end, which finished with a rush. Otherwise, a great read
