Summary: Gripping story - believable characters
Review:

Jordan Sloan has trouble in her life. Even though she has established a successful practice as a therapist, her own marriage is on the rocks, her teen-age daughter is growing up faster than necessary, and the man who brutally murdered her father has been sent free.

M J Rose has crafted a tight, gripping story peopled with real-life characters with all-too-real problems and obstacles. Factor in the stalking of her main character, and you have a look into the workings of a modern family and into the heart of terror.

Enjoy!

Summary: Good psychological suspense!
Review: A complex plot kept me glued to almost every page (it lagged ever so slightly about two-thirds of the way through, but that turned out to be the calm before a stormy conclusion). Most interesting to me was the first person point of view - although readers tend to trust a narrator who tells his/her own story, they'll probably find themselves (as I did) tempted to take Jordan Sloan out back and shake some sense into her. Others point out how she preaches change to her patients, yet cannot embrace that same change for herself. She's a stubborn one, that Jordan, but even the most headstrong among us can learn and change.

Ms. Rose shows no fear of displaying her characters entirely, and although this is not a novel of erotica, it has many erotic scenes that are perfectly in character for all involved. The characters themselves were all fascinating, realistic, and kept me spellbound to the last page. If it's been a long time since you've treated yourself to a good psychological suspense, then grab In Fidelity right away - and don't answer the phone until you reach the end.

Summary: Exciting romantic suspense
Review: Almost two decades ago, Dan Mallory murdered his employer, owner of a jewelry store, in front of the victim's daughter Jordan Sloan. Jordan beels guilty because she secretly dated Dan. His activities caused her father to fire him and he to kill. The tragedy led Jordan to major in psychotherapy and she now runs a successful practice. However, her relationship with her spouse Robert is nearing divorce; they are separated even though they share their NYC house.

Jordan is stunned to learn that Dan has been freed early due to good behavior. She thinks he is stalking her, but has no clear-cut evidence even with her teenage daughter's pictures containing a man that she believes is him. Robert offers comfort, but a patient accuses him of infidelity. How can she prove Dan, who obtained a college degree and found religion in prison, remains a danger to her without Robert by her side?

IN FIDELITY is an exciting romantic suspense centering on the helplessness of a victim being stalked. The story line is exciting, as Jordan feels isolated in her belief that Dan is coming for her. Although the subplot of Adrienne's accusations isolate Jordan further, that tactic causes a slight detour from the exhilarating prime plot of whether Dan is stalking Jordan or not? M.J. Rose has written a thrilling novel that sub-genre fans and those readers who enjoy a taut suspense story will relish.

Summary: Keeps you turning those pages!
Review: Although this isn't the sort of book I usually read, I found this book hard to set down once I started it. Rose has that amazing ability some authors possess to =make= you keep on reading. I won't rehash the plot, as other reviewers have thoroughly covered that aspect of the book. I'll just add that IN FIDELITY is a tense, taut book that keeps you turning those pages!

Summary: Another wonderful book by a gifted author!
Review: Another wonderful book by a gifted author!

Dr. Jordan Sloan is having a hard time putting her father's death behind her, especially now since the murderer, her ex-boyfriend at the time, has been freed from prison. Dan Mallory tried his best to get young Jordan back after their break-up--anger drove him into that store that horrible day. A confrontation took place and the next thing Jordan saw was her father's blood rolling across the floor. In the courtroom during the trial, Jordan pointed out her father's murderer to the jury. Now Jordan feels she is forced to constantly look over her shoulder wherever she goes. Is she being followed or just paranoid? Has Dan Mallory been religiously rejuvenated and ready for the outside world?

Murdered in his own jewelry store twenty years ago, Jordan relives the smells and visions of that gruesome, life-changing day almost every single day of her adult life.

Now a mother of a 17-year-old Zen adherent, she tries to develop a better relationship with her daughter, Lilly. She feels that Lilly is getting too serious with her Yale boyfriend, Cooper, who introduced and encourages Lilly's Zen beliefs.

Dr. Sloan gets aggravated at times, but marvels at the fact that Lilly has grown to love photography just as Lilly's father has. Separated five years, Robert holds onto the thought of him and Jordan getting back together. Jordan just wants to feel sexy again.

Aside from everything else going on in Dr. Sloan's life...she also has to deal with and analyze her patient's lives on a daily basis from her home counseling office. One female patient has Dr. Sloan intrigued.

Precious stones and jewelry are mentioned throughout this book depicting strong visual images, which are linked with a memory--good and disturbing.

M. J. Rose's storytelling captivated me. Her talent for piecing together a remarkable, ever-twisting plot with realistic, fascinating characters shines brightly in her newest erotic novel IN FIDELITY set for publication January 2001. Ms. Rose weaves the past, present, and future into one story line without skimping in detail, or in character descriptions--minor and major--and molds them smoothly and beautifully into an astonishing book.

If you love to read a book where you, the reader, are taken beyond the bedroom door, read M. J. Rose's steamy novel IN FIDELITY.

Summary: Unable to stop reading...
Review: Dr. Jordan Sloan's life is about to take a left turn. She's having second thoughts about divorcing her cheating husband. Her teenage daughter is immersing herself in a new boyfriend and religion. And the man who murdered her father has just been released from prison.

At the same time, Jordan is faced with a troubling new therapy patient. The woman is brazen, sexual, troubled and getting under Jordan's skin in a way only a narcissist can.

Jordan is an intriguing character. She's strong, confused and determined to work through her past in order to make her future more tenable. Although it's easy for the reader to connect with her -- the book is written in first person -- Jordan often behaves erratically. She's quite human, but seems to be surrounded by people with absolutely no common sense. In response, Jordan responds to these outside forces with exasperation and sexual fantasy.

Jordan's daughter, Lilly, tends to ruin the mood of this book. She's a teenager who's whiny, annoying, brash and completely drugged with her new boyfriend and his Zen beliefs. In response, Jordan indulges her every whim, allowing her to sleep with her older boyfriend and give away thousands of dollars in clothes. The interaction is extremely frustrating.

"In Fidelity" was a bit predictable, the plot following the expected twists and turns of an old mystery novel. Still, the writing was absolutely gripping, and I was simply unable to put this book down until all the various threads had been tied.

M.J. Rose has a real talent for connecting with her reader. Her writing is visceral, crisp and sensual, filled with the delight of the senses (I know I'll certainly never look at fruit in the same way!). Rose also has a good nose for romantic suspense, one that in time, could make her a leader in the genre. --Reviewed by Jade Walker, Inscriptions Magazine

Summary: every woman has her secrets
Review: Every woman has fantasies about living a life different than the than the one they have. It's natural to want to do something completely unlike the person everyone thinks you are. All of us have a little voice that tells us to break the rules and walk that line. All of MJ Rose's books are sexy and smart, and every woman should read all of them. She's writes with an edge I dont see in women's fiction very often, and I work in books. I love everything she does, and would recommend her to anyone who has read and loved Jennifer Belle and/or Anais Nin. I dont really want to compare her to anyone because she is just such an original. Absolutely no fear. If you havent discovered MJ, discover her now.

Summary: A.J. Russo
Review: I found M.J. Rose's novel, In Fidelity to be gripping and erotic. It was a great follow-up to Lip Service. Her main character is as strong and believable a character as I have come across in a long time. This is a page-turner that you don't want to miss.

Summary: Great Read!
Review: I just finished In Fidelity last night. As several reviewers have noticed, the end was really exciting, but I didn't expect the novel to be so touching as well. MJ Rose did a fabulous job with Robert and Jordan's relationship. I also loved Lilly and her idealism, and the way the Zen gave the other characters a language to talk about their changes. It really mirrors Jordan's path from living in the past to living in the present.

What a WONDERFUL read. I can't wait to pass it along to my sister. ..or maybe I'll make her buy it!

Summary: Excellent
Review: I loved this story from beginning to end. It was well told and I really enjoyed the ending - which is sometimes a hard one for authors to pull off. This book was originally self-published and I applaud this author for getting her work out there. I will continue to read her works.
