Summary: Shaving three times in one day says it all-too much detail.
Review: I'll have to confess I only read the first 200 pages of this novel, so maybe something happens toward the end. At any rate, the story moves at a glacial pace. Naturally, all the characters sit and stand ramrod straight, etc. Peter's brother's death and funeral were described in excruciating detail; so much so that I expected something to happen there. We also learn that it's a good idea to go to McDonald's for breakfast before hitting the office, and that military men always use public transportation for a chance to catch some zzz's. (Yawn.) I still read Tom Clancy, because, even though he has become quite a gas bag in recent years, there is actually something happening in his books. I do admire Ollie's personal accomplishments, and find myself agreeing with him quite a bit, so I wonder where he leaves off and Joe Musser takes over here? This book is a sleeper and not worth my time.

Summary: INCREDIBLE BOOK!
Review: Novel? Yeah, right. Way ta go, Ollie! I'm hooked. You write it - I'll buy it! I agree with other reviewers, this book is "too true" to be a novel but does allow the author an escape route! Wow! Highly recommended!

Summary: Confidential or Fiction ???
Review: Disclaimer from Book;
"This is a fictional story. Use or mention of historical events, places, or names of public figures is done solely for the purpose of placing the story within a time frame or geographic region. Any similarity of the story line to actual events is coincidental."

I wonder if the disclaimer is true, or was this a way for Oliver North to give us accounts of classified things that have actually happened to people and stay out of hot water by offering it in the realm of a fiction novel.

After all what could they do if this was all based on fact? How could "THEY" do anything about it without disclosing the fact that it was based on truth...

I guess I am just a conspiracy nut :)

This book really gave me something to think about, that is for sure...

Summary: A Spy Story You Can Let the Kids Read
Review: I don't know what you think of Oliver North, but you really need to read his latest book: Mission: Compromised; about 500 pages in length but it's one of those great suspense stories that starts rolling slowly and then gets faster and faster until you are almost breathless at the end.

It takes place during the Clinton years: a top secret "non-existent" Special Ops force created by the UN to "Sanction" unwanted political leaders. The hero is Peter J Newman. There is great character development in the story, IMHO. Both Peter and his wife are built up and the villains are brought down.

What I appreciated most about it was the Christian message that North weaves through the story. It's not merely an international thriller but a story of redemption as well. More than once I jumped on Google and typed in some names to see if they really existed. Many did!

I won't give anything away about the plot but you have to read to the very last paragraph to get the full impact.

Summary: Something For Everyone! A Great Christmas Present!
Review: Both men and women will be vastly rewarded by this happily sizable, multi-dimensional novel. It will satisfy a reader's need for serious and no-holds barred adventure, mystery, romance, and a whole lot of TRUTH at no extra price. And what a treat it is to read this from a man who is no doubt more than just well-versed in all elements explored!
An added plus...all of this from A-Z is written within the increasingly rare boundaries of good taste, even given the wrenching, personal and soul-searching events covered within. You can feel comfortable giving this book to your own mother or other loved one who would enjoy a great full action and also moving novel (a rare combination, might I add!)
I highly recommend this book, and I know I will be including it on my Christmas list to give to many others this year.
Thank you, Oliver North!

Summary: Good stuff!!!
Review: I couldn't put it down. I advise anyone who is up to date on world events or who likes military drama to get this book. The first of three? I will be awaiting the sequel eagerly.

Summary: A NOVEL?? You won't come up for air 'til the last page!
Review: This is the most exciting book I have EVER read! How can this be a novel? If there is even a SHRED of truth to this...this will be a MUST READ for EVERYONE! When is the sequel coming out?

Summary: A rollercoaster ride
Review: Oliver North has done a tremendous job in showing readers the dark side of a government filled with self-interest politicians. National security issues will never be viewed the same way again. Bravo.

Summary: Not bad....not bad at all.....
Review: This book surprised me. I expected a book with a plot thats really predictable, however this was not the case. In my humble opinion, this book bested Clancy's Red Rabbit. Not that it was detailed in its description of technologies and thick plot, but it all seemed so real when reading this book that drew me very close to finishing it the first week. I haven't exprienced this since my first novel with was the Flight of the Intruder by Stephen Coonts. Bravo... and I hope a second novel is in the works.

Summary: Move Over, Tom Clancy
Review: Ollie North has written a tremendous book, packed with excitement, human interest, a detailed knowledge of the way things work at "the top," and a deep Christian faith. He and Joe Musser combine these elements into a thriller that keeps you up at night. Moreover, the characters are believable and they grow and develop throughout the book, which is pretty unusual in thrillers of this genre. Mission Compromised is an eerie blend of fact and fiction, leaving the reader unsure which is which. Well done all around.
