Rating: Summary: The best of Birmingham Review: Anne George is one of our favorite authors here at the Library! Our readers are always awaiting her next book. We would love any information on how to contact Ms. George. Keep up the wonderful writing!
Rating: Summary: Fabulous Review: Anne, if you read this reviews, I just want you to know that you have become my new favorite author!I discovered one of Ms. George's books sort of "by accident" at the library and loved it -- the characters, the plot, and of course the humor, which is truly laugh-out-loud (it's not just a cliche). I immediately went to Borders and bought all the "Southern Sisters" books I could get my hands on. In a world where "New York Times Bestsellers" disappoint more than not, it's wonderful to discover an author like this one. She's a treasure.
Rating: Summary: A Curious George reviews Anne's Book! Review: I got hooked on Anne George's books because my sister-in-law introduced them to me while visiting family in Alabama (that's where my husband is from!). After making the yearly trips to visit family for almost 18 years, I felt I was somewhat familiar with the state and have come to love my visits there. I enjoy the way Anne sprinkles alot about her state in these books! While reading I can say "I've been there, I've seen that!" or "I know someone who talks exactly that way!" I found myself laughing out loud while reading, making the rest of my family very curious! I picked up my sister-in-law's book "MURDER GETS A LIFE" and didn't put it down til I was done with it. Then I beat it to the mall to pick up another one!(Murder Runs in the Family) Such a fun author and such surprise endings! These books truly are great summertime reading! I can't wait to get another one! Thanks, Anne! PS: I love your last name! Hmm, I wonder if we're related!

Rating: Summary: This book was so funny! Review: I made the mistake of just picking up one of Anne's books - Murder Gets a Life - not a mistake in that it was a bad book but that I started in the middle of her books. I can't remember laughing so hard reading a book in my life. I went out and bought the first three and plan on reading all of them - in order this time. I'm just so sad that she passed away in March though, now I know that there will be no more of these treasures to look forward to in the future!
Rating: Summary: These Sisters are Great Review: I've read every one of the Southern Sisters mysteries and I've enjoyed them all. They are laugh out loud funny, which isn't always a good thing riding the NYC subways! Mary Alice and Mouse, the Southern Sisters, are as opposite as night and day. When Mary Alice's son marries a woman whose family photo is along side "dysfunctional" in the dictionary the fun really begins. There is a MeeMaw, a PawPaw, a Buck, and a dead Indian with a butcher knife in his chest laid out in a trailor. The sisters' relationship, family dynamics and the idiosyncracies of the South, all provide wonderful layers to this book. A good read, you will definitely enjoy.

Rating: Summary: Another terrific read from my favourite author Review: Murder Gets A Life is one of my favourites. I loved this laugh out book! For the first time in many years I am onto a series where I feel I actually know the main characters...so starting a new Anne George book is like coming home. Mouse and Aunt Sister have got themselves knee deep in 'kin' promblems. I think Ray should have wised up when he met someone on Bora Bora named 'Sunshine' in the first place, however :) I enjoyed this book so much, I even snuck it into my purse and read it in the bathroom at work. I can't wait to pick up Murder Shoots The Bull. The only complaint I have about Anne...is that she doesnt write fast enough!
Rating: Summary: More Fun with the Southern Sisters Review: Patrica Ann and Mary Alice are back and better than ever, finding trouble in the most unusual places. It seems that Mary Alice's son, Ray, owner of a dive-expedition business in Bora Bora, has gotten married. The lucky lady is Sunshine Dabbs, of the Locust Fork Alabama, Turkett family, who met Ray when she won a trip to Bora Bora on Wheel of Fortune. Mary Alice thinks Sunshine is just as pretty as a Barbie Doll and since Locust Fork is just a few minutes away from Birmingham, the southern sister's home, she talks Patricia Ann into coming with her to do a little snooping and meet the new in-laws, Meemaw and Pawpaw Turkett. Unfortunately, upon entering Meemaw's trailer, they stumble over a body impaled to the floor with a hog-butchering knife. And to make matters even worse, Sunshine is missing.....Ann George has written a witty, light-hearted mystery full of quirky, original characters and great southern humor. Her writing is down to earth, funny, full of irreverent dialogue and laugh-out-loud scenes. Easily read in one sitting, Murder Gets a Life is just pure entertainment.
