Summary: Utter Confusion
Review: Ridley Pearson goes out of his way to make you back track every 5 pages, just to see if you are still reading the same book that you started out with. How anyone can say that this author is "Pure Genious" is beyond me. This book is confusing and nonstimulating and I don't know why I read past page 5.

Summary: "PEARSON HAS ANOTHER HIT"
Review: Ridley Pearson has done it again. Written another good book. This one has people going after kids. One of the kids is even named Boldt. They have to be caught before harm comes to them. Te trail leads to many different places. Lou Boldt and company also have to fight the Feds. all the way. Politics is played between many people. The people and the way it plays out, on page 283, paperback, will nearly make you cry. What a warm feeling. From page 428 on I was realy caught up in the action. I could not read fast enough. If you want a good mystery, with lots of action and many good characters you will like this book.

Summary: Pearson writes his most compelling detective thriller
Review: Ridley Pearson tops himself in his latest, most compelling thriller -- The Pied Piper. Not a word is wasted as Pearson follows the trail of his dual team of investigators -- Lou Boldt and Daphne Mathews. The locales are Seattle, Portland (Oregon), New Orleans and the Skagit valley (northwestern Washington). The story is hung on criminal machinations that are realistic and cautionary. The plot crackles, the characters vere and recover, and the mysteries defy solution until the very end. The only question that remains is whether fate is going to bring Daphne and Lou together in some future yarn. A great summer read.

Summary: His Best Yet!
Review: Since I picked up "The Angel Maker" a few weeks ago, I've read every one of the Lou Boldt /Daphne Mattews series. (To bad I have to go to work!) This was definitely his best. They just kept getting better. Can't wait for the next one!

Summary: Very long! 499 pages should have been 399
Review: The Book kept my interest in the beginning but it began to drag in the middle. At times, I thought it rambled. Interesting subject but weak ending

Summary: A totally engrossing read
Review: The Pied Piper by Ridley Pearson Published by Hyperion, New York

This is the first book I've read by Ridley Pearson but it definitely won't be the last. The book is filled with believable characters with interesting lives outside of their work and relationships that makes the skin tingle with tension.

The plot is skillfully crafted and moves quickly from the kidnaping of young children to the internecine competition between the FBI and the Seattle Police Department. Someone within the two groups is giving the kidnapers inside information and when Lou Boldt's child is kidnaped and he is told to slow down the investigation or he won't see his child again, the tension rises to unimaginable heights. For those who are parents and perhaps even those who arnt, the thought of losing a child to kidnapers brings a dimension and intensity to the plot that is at times unbearable.

This is a well written and carefully crafted book filled with excitement and enough twists and turns of plot to hold anyone. I can't wait for the next one.

Summary: A good pass-the-time novel.
Review: There's not a whole lot of substance in this novel, yet it moves along, the plot is interesting, and the characters know-able. I had some difficulty stringing the characters together, and my mind wandered a bit during less than interesting pages but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Mr. Pearson has an unusual way of forming sentences at times, and this tended to throw me off balance as I had to read some sentences over again. All in all, a good way to pass the time, but no bestseller here.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Compelling, intricate storyline.
Review: This book is for the reader who regularly figures out "Who done it" halfway through the book. You are never sure who's the goodguy and who's the bad guy. A must read for the police investigation junky. My favorite of all Ridley Pierson's books.
