Rating: Summary: Another fine yarn Review: #5 in the Lou Boldt series delivers. The series shows no wear and tear at all, is as fresh as ever, and if anything just keeps getting stronger with each entry. This particular entry, about someone abducting children, is sure to pull the heartstrings of every parent. Also, there are many, many plot twists (not everyone is as they seem in this thriller). An excellent entry, worthy of the names Lou Boldt and Ridley Pearson.

Rating: Summary: Utter Confusion Review: A kidnapper is stealing children from their homes, right under the noses of great sitters. This should've been Lou's case, but he's been promoted and is temporarily running intelligence. LaMoia is running the case quite capably, and would be doing better if the FBI wasn't withholding evidence. A local PI gets killed, and Lou helps LaMoia by following evidence garnered by a somewhat reluctantly won over gorgeous realtor, who recognizer a noncustomer when she sees one. That trail leads directly to a view of his own home. The kids are safe, for now--it's the next day that little Sarah is stolen--and Lou is left with an impossible ransom--let other little ones b kidnapped and save his daughter, orsolve the case as only ge can asnd sacrifice her on a principle. He puts off telling Liz as long as he can, but eventually he has to tell her, because she finally in remission and coming home from the hospital. Once she's over her initial anger--she comes up with the only solution. Since Lou has already decided he has to do both--save Sarah and solve the case--Liz is going to tell; the rest of the crew. It is touching to see how close this crew is. La Moia is more hurt that Lou didn't confide in him in the beginning, and every one is willing to do what it takes to get her back--even if it appears they're letting the kidnapper get away. The kidnapper doesn't get away, a good chase scene up to Mt Vernon and a trip to New Orleams, ensures it...but there's a lot to figure out...and nobody does it better than Boldt's squad and Ridley Pearson

Rating: Summary: My first Ridley Pearson book, and I'm hooked! Review: A superbly written thriller that grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go until the very last page. Wonderful characters and plot. And he explains what has driven the criminal to crime which ties things up nicely for the reader. Now I have to read everything he's written. Thanks!
Rating: Summary: Exciting and Entertaining Review: A tightly written thriller. The characters are believable. The twists and turns kept me "on the edge of my seat," but they also made sense -- they were not contrived. It gives real insight into the thinking of police detectives and the difficulties they face in putting the puzzle pieces of evidence together to solve a crime. I highly recommend this book. It's the first Ridley Pearson I've read, but I'll be reading more. I'm delighted to discover another exciting author.

Rating: Summary: Finally another author worth reading.... Review: About two months ago I read The Coffin Dancer and became hooked on Jeffery Deaver's novels. (As 7 reviews of his novels in under a month and a half will prove) But since I have read most Deaver novels I decided it was time to look for another author worth reading, and I finally found him in Ridley Pearson. The Pied Piper is a fast paced thriller that touches a very sensitive subject, child abduction. Pearson is able to keep the suspense all throughout the novel and this novel contains many twists that will keep you guessing and thinking all thoughout that the kidnapper is this or that character. This novel will be sure to keep you on the edge of your seat particularly because you will be able to identify yourself with Lou Boldt and his actions and you will confront yourself asking what would I have done. The modus operandi of the pied piper is very unique and he actually becomes great villain. The only setback I could find in this novel (When compared to Deaver novels) is that we never get a glance at the villains point of view. One of the great things about Deaver is that you get to know what the bad guys are thinking, even if you do not know who the bad guy is. However, setting this small detail aside this novel was a very enjoyable read and I am getting ready to read my second Pearson novel. Lou Boldt is a great character and I'm glad to find out that there are many more Lou Bold't novels out there because I will certainly read them all.
Rating: Summary: Pearson is Piercing Review: As it says on the book backing...."Who's that knocking at your door?...Do you always look?...Do you always know?", I kept asking myself those piercing questions throughout this horrific yet fascinating read. In "The Pied Piper", Pearson gives us a twisting plot that hits home hard, especially if you have children. Seattle detective Lou Boldt and Daphne Matthews, a forensic specialist team up to hunt down the penne flute leaving abducter. Well woven plot that grips you in terror and does not let go, not even after the last page is read. Thanks--CDS
