Rating: Summary: Excellent Book! Review: Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down until I was finished. I liked how she portrayed the vampires (it was a different angle than most). I just loved the book. I would highly recommend it to anyone. The only thing that upsets me is that this book is the second in a trilogy so there is only one left to go. I think she should write more books with vampires than just three. I loved the ending in this one. Keep them coming.
Rating: Summary: Sexual Content: Rated PG-13, Violence Content: Rated R Review: Overall, the sequel to "Beneath a Blood Red Moon" is a powerful one. There are a couple of complaints I have with it, the most notable one being that Drake/Graham concentrated more on the suspense/thriller angle of the book than on the romance. You finish "When Darkness Falls" feeling as though the protagonists are only a small step up from being virtual strangers to each other. Very little of the novel, perhaps as little as 50 pages, contains interactions between Jade and Lucien. Most of it concentrates on the gruesome crimes being committed by the vampires Lucien is determined to stop. From a suspense/thriller perspective, this book is 5 stars. From a romantic perspective, it is 4 stars. Since there is to be another sequel next year, and since there are quite a few loose ends between Jade and Lucien, I can only assume that we will find out more of what becomes of them in October 2001. Plot Summary: During a trip to Scotland, Jade MacGregor and 3 others survived a bloodbath in a cemetary. The cops tried to convince her that the assailants were occultists bent on drinking blood and killing as an initiation rite, but she witnessed the "occultists" superhuman strength with her own eyes. She knows what she saw was real vampires in action. A year later back home in New Orleans, Jade receives news that one of the other survivors from the graveyard mass murder in Scotland was found murdered in New York, having died in much the same way that the others did that horrid night a year past. A pattern soon emerges as more dead bodies pop up, and Jade realizes that the vampires mean to find and kill all of the remaining survivors, herself included. Jade turns to Lucien for help, since he is the man responsible for having saved her life in Scotland. But the more time she spends with him, the more she begins to wonder if Lucien is a vampire too... Drake/Graham has proven with "When Darkness Falls" that she can write a thriller with the best of them. I would recommend this book not only to romance fans, but to fans of suspense and horror novels as well. (Sexual Content PG-13 = description of consummation scenes, but nothing graphic)
Rating: Summary: Truely Entralling - When Darkness Falls Review: Sensational reading from start to finish! After reading this book I am making sure I get the entire series. The plot and the main characters in the book were wonderful, entising and packed with exitement. Just one of those books you can never put down once you have started reading it.
Rating: Summary: Should Be Made into a Movie! Review: Shannon Drake, should really consider turning this books into film. It has everything for everyone romance, mystery, and humor. But in my opinion I liked Shanna better than Jade, she was way to whining. But Lucian is a okay
Rating: Summary: a new title that was to follow in the series Review: Since reading Beneath A Blood Red Moon, an excerpt was in the closing part of this new series and the next book was to be titled: The Tomb. I'd been searching for that title and only last year found the new title. I had the other names that followed but wanted to keep in sequence. The same with the historical Graham family which starts with Come The Morning. I've been trying to keep up with the names of them. I really have enjoyed what I've read so far and looking forward to reading the remainder. I've Scot in my ancestry and after doing research, found my Douglass ancestors' landholdings between The Bruce's and The Wallace's. I love history and Shannon Drake always gives such detail to make you feel as if you're actually part of it. the Thanks for enlightening me of the new names.
Rating: Summary: A Vampire Romance trilogy you need to follow! Review: The second book in the Vampire trilogy, When Darkness Falls (the first "Beneath the Blood Red Moon" a five star book) takes us into Lucian's past and future. Lucian, the king of the Vampires returns as well as other characters from Blood Red Moon - Maggie and Sean, Jack, Mike. And introduces us the Jade MacGregor, a writer from New Orleans on vacation/research trip to Scotland over Halloween. But the trip becomes a nightmare in a Scottish cemetery, when the dead come to life and kills the tourists in her group. She and several others are only spare from a bloody death by a handsome stranger. Jade is found naked on a MacGregor tomb in the cemetery, the police find nothing of the handsome hero or the murderers. Then we skip ahead, Jade's at home in New Orleans a year later trying to put her life back in order. Everything is going in the right direction...her book makes the best seller list, she is surrounded by family and friends, and her wonderful policeman boyfriend and her are about to take the relationship to the next level. But then the dreams of the handsome stranger start and the survivors of the Scottish graveyard are dying. Someone is watching her, knows her every move, ready to rescue her from the evil that is trying to finish what was started in that graveyard. And excellent follow-up to Blood Red Moon, the returning characters are like visit old friends and finding out where they are in their lives. I would highly recommend, this is a romantic vampire saga worth investing in. The only bad thing was there are a few loose ends that left me wondering. But may reveal themselves in the next book due out in October 2001.
Rating: Summary: Started out ok Review: This book started out great!I read the last book Beneath a Blood Red Moon, and could not wait to read it.Blah! The book just falls apart towards the middle.I could not sat focused.Im not planning on reading anymore of her vampire novels. They just seem to repeat themselves.I think Drake is turning into the Danielle Steele of Horror/Romance.
Rating: Summary: Started out ok Review: This book started out well, but it is as if the author got VERY distracted about half way through. I did finish it, though it was painful. Cheesy. Bad dialogue! For true vampire genre fans, give this one a pass. I have not read the others in this series, so I cannot comment on those. After reading this one, however, I have no interest in the others.

Rating: Summary: No Depth Review: This book was a tremendous disappointment. The characters had no depth, and the romance was nonexistant. I had to force myself to finish this novel. The writing was hurried, and the dialogue was sometimes hard to follow. This book has few highlights. I bought this book along with another in her vampire series; I'm very reluctant to read it. Linda Lael Miller has a much better vampire series.
