Summary: SUSPENSE
Review: The books by Mr. Pearson start with something that keeps you turning.....you can't read fast enough for what is coming next.....but.....you have to put down the book at times.....just to savor what you have read and to catch your breath....We have read all his books to date and must say the same for ALL.

Summary: I must have missed the "gripping" parts
Review: This book started out very slow. Not until page 100 or so when some bodies pop up and some investigating goes on did it become interesting. But then the story is sunk by a extremely cliche, so-called "gripping" ending. I had to skim through a lot of read-it-a-million-times-before paragraphs toward the end just to finish the dang thing.

Summary: Okay but Great
Review: This book was pretty boring and I had to make myself read it until I reached somewhere around page 200 and the book started speeding up. The book turned out to be pretty great! So anyway it is worth getting if you can stick with it.

Summary: Undercurrents is Over the Top
Review: This has to be one of the best suspense novels I have ever read. I was up into the early morning hours reading this one. Lou Boldt is a detective in the Seattle area. He is hunting a serial killer. They thought they had him at one point and even brought him into court. He was shot by one of the victims fathers. But it turns out it wasn't him. Lou is getting really stressed trying to figure out who the real killer is. And bodies keep mounting up. With the help of his more than a friend psychologist, Daphne, they develop a profile for the killer.
This is the first book in the Lou/Daphne series. It is awesome. Can not wait to read Angel Maker.

Summary: Dialogue is not Pearson's gift, but a fast paced story is!
Review: This is my favorite of Pearson's to date. His forensic work is credible and factual, and the pace is non-stop. This book adds depth to the characters, and I now understand the Lou/Elizabeth/Daphne dynamic. The characters are human, and you care for them. Doctor Dixon also has more depth in my mind after reading this book. Boldt's aching for children is getting a little old, and Pearson's pro-life message didn't go unnoticed. Keep books like these coming!

Summary: Gripping
Review: This is the most gripping thriller I've ever read. Pearson is a master story-teller.

Summary: Ridley Pearson at his best
Review: This was my first Ridley Pearson book. I had read an article in the Boston Globe regarding new mystery writers and decided to try them all. Pearson is the one that I have stuck with.

When I first read Undercurrents, I literally could not put it down. In fact I missed an Eric Clapton concert because I lost track of the time.

This is the first Lou and Daphne novel and, arguably, the best!
