Summary: Stop reading these reviews & read the book!
Review: Drat! I just HATE it when, without warning, reviewers stick plot spoilers in their reviews. In order to savour the full pathologic panoply of Kathy Reich's most recent Temperance Brennan tale, I advise you to read no further of these reviews and order the book now! It's much better than the previous Brennan "biker book" and WAY surpasses Patricia Cornwall's plummeting Kay Scarpetta series.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Kathy Reichs Gets Lucky With Fatal Voyage
Review: This is a great book, if you not familiar with Kathy Reichs she writes about a character called Dr. Temperance Brennan, a chief medical examiner, kind of like a stand in of Kay Scarpetta Patricia Cornwell's Sleuth Virginia Chief Medical Examiner. She seems to even be better than Cornwell although she's only written four books with Fatal Voyage A destined to be good book Deja Dead and Deadly Decisions I cannot wait for Ms. Reichs next book. I hope if there's one book you read this summer it should be Fatal Voyage. Grade: B+

Summary: Oh my gosh!
Review: I could not stop reading this book. What a story! I am awestruck by the happenings in this book. Tempe and Ryan, and a plane crash, and now, Boyd! Oh my gosh! How do I tell you what a great read this is?! I just finished reading Fatal Voyage. My heart is racing. I am pumped. I feel a little sentimental and have tears in my eyes. What a page turner. Such drama! This is truly a great read!

Summary: Plane crashes and Cannabalism
Review: Listening to the audiobook (Borowitz does great French and Canadian accented English by the way) you knew something evil was coming and you try and steel yourself for the revelation but it zapped me anyway when it arrived. I love Reichs (better than Cornwell I think for forensic tidbits) and she was never better than this one.

Summary: Ms. Reichs is great
Review: This is the first of Ms. Reichs' books I have read and I was greatly pleased. I enjoyed the Temperance Brennan character and found the story line intriguing. I like Tempe better than Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpatti. I look forward to reading the rest of this series. In fact I have already purchased Deja Dead.

Summary: Book crashes along with plot
Review: Kathy Reichs writes about what she knows best - forensic anthropology. But Tempe Brennan was much more excting in Reich's previous three novels. This story has a variety of twists and turns, but never quite takes off. The plane crash and ensuing investigation are well covered with technical details, but the characters revolving around Tempe are never quite fleshed out, and her relationship with her estranged husband as well as a detective friend from Quebec do not generate much heat or diversion. It was a good summer read as I love forensics, but I recommend her previous books. And what is it with these authors and dogs lately?

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Almost Perfect
Review: Reichs is a great writer, and her heroine is totally believable, which makes for a great combination of writing and characterization. The only reason I didn't give this one five stars is that the actual murder mystery seemed extremely convoluted and contrived. So, while this may have been her best written book, I also thought it was her worst mystery, hence only four stars. But I still can't wait for the next one.

Summary: FANTASTIC!
Review: I couldn't put this one down until I finished it. I highly recommend it!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good, with lots of yummy forensic detail and Reichs-humour
Review: Having read all of Kathey Reichs' other offerings, I have been champing at the bit to get at this one. It was worth the wait. Lots of forensic detail, much humour and a protagonist who is down-to-earth. The story-line is a tad fantastic (when will authors realise that we do not always want werewolves and cults - so much as a good honest serial killer (or two), lots of bodies, creative killing methods or ways of disguising them and a good plot and likeable hero/heroine). Having said that, Fatal voyage was a very pleaseant way to while away a chilly weekend. And Reichs is at the top of the pile, ABOVE Cornwell.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: ONE OF 3 BEST SUMMER THRILLERS!!!
Review: Tempe is back on the case: watch out! And so, of course, is Kathy Reichs with a fab tale of murder in the deep woods after a plane crash. One of the 3 best thrillers I've read this summer along with:

POWER OF ATTORNEY by (UK author) DEXTER DIAS and Janet Evanovich's Seven Up.
