Summary: The Best Book!
Review: This was the first book of Mary higgins Clark's that I read and it was so good that I've kept reading her books. I'm a picky person when it comes to what I read, but after I finished this book I wanted more of them to read. It's about a divorced woman (Jenny) struggiling to survive with two smal children and a job at an art galary. She meets a new and very talented artist (Erich) and falls in love. It only toke a month for them to get married and setteled on his family's estate. After a while things start to get strange. Erich is always gone and is oddly attached to his long dead mother. Jenny is suspected in the murder of her ex-husband, and her new born child dies suddenely. She decides she wants to get away. Away from Erich who by now is scaring her with his overpossesiveness and lack of ability to forget his mother's death. This decission leads her into a terrifing and thriling journey that may cost her and her children their lives.

Summary: I couldn't put it down!
Review: I've read this book five or six times. I love Mary Higgins Clark and this is her best work in my opinion. The suspense is incredible. My imagination was put to good use on this one. A must read!!

Summary: a novel with mounting suspense--an excellent read
Review: jenny bears a striking resemblance to erich's late mother. a whirlwind romance occurs between erich. from her small, cramped home, she moves with him into a luxurious mansion in the countryside.

that's just the end of the begginning. what she goes through next is sheer hell. strange things are happening. witfully, higgins builds up the tension and envelops the reader with a sense of dread. jenny discovers shameful truthst that no one should know. and they are all painful links to Erich's past. the climax of the story was startling. a thrilling tale that you simply can't put down.

Summary: This one drew me in!
Review: I am a read-aholic, always have been, but I was usually picky about the authors whose books I read. One of my friends insisted that I read A Cry in the Night because she loved it. I had never read any books from MHC, but she convinced me to read it and I couldn't put it down once I started. I finished the book in two days and I've bought (and loved) every one of Ms. Clark's books since.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An eerie & chilling web of manipulation and obsession.
Review: This was the first book I read by MHC. I absolutely adored it. I'm a sucker for a romance-mystery and MHC is generous with both in this read. There's an old-fashined cliche, "look before you leap". Jennie, the central character, should have done precisely that before she wed the highly charming and yet too mysterious and aloof Erich. This was an excellent read. In fact, it turned me into an instantaneous fan of MHC. Some of her other books were a little more fast-paced, but you won't be disappointed nevertheless.

Summary: An excellent book for anyone to read!!
Review: Being a teenager, the thought of reading this thick book didn't appeal to me. After I was through the first few chapters though I couldn't put it down! The mystery of the story is great!! It's one of my favorite books now! It's true...don't judge a book by it's cover! Two thumbs up for this one!
