Rating: Summary: WELL OVER 5 STARS!!! Review: I JUST RECENTLY FINISHED THIS BOOK ABOUT A WEEK AGO AND WHAT A BOOK. IT HAD EVERYTHING MURDER, SUSPENSE, SEX, BETRAYAL, AND SO SO MUCH MORE. A GREAT READ! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN.
Rating: Summary: Good pace, great suspense, excellent book. Review: I read this book in record time. It was an easy read, with good characters, great suspense, and an excellent plot. I found the characters in this one to be more realistic. Quincy may be SuperFed but he is not SuperDad, he has no idea how to relate to his daughter. Rainie wants so desperately to reinvent herself, she buys an expensive fancy loft in a fancy part of town that just isn't her, and finds that it still doesn't change her past. They are each struggling with their own issues, and the issues of how they really feel about each other,(or better, how to show it), and it takes them awhile to learn how to lean on each other. They really keep you guessing who is behind the murders, and stalking Quincy, and then they throw you a curve that you just can't seem to believe. You are right, it isn't over yet. I would definately say this one is worth your time. Personally, this book, and The Other Daughter are my favorites of Lisa Gardner.
Rating: Summary: Worth the Wait! Review: I was axiously awaiting this release from Gardener, and she did not disappoint. I believe this is her 4th novel and seems to continue a year later in time from her last work. In Next Accident, her continuing, as well as new characters are strong and vital. You'll soon realize that some people will stop at nothing to seek revenge. The storyline will lock you in and have you waiting for another year, as a new "partnership" business is formed at book's end. Gardener is one newer writer that is one to check out and check into. You won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: WHOOOOOOOOH !!! Review: I've just finished this book and my heart is still racing!! This is definitely Lisa Gardner's best!! I have read all of Lisa Gardner's books, but this one has passed all my expectations. It is very intelligently written and doesn't at all fall into the pat romantic-suspense routine. Not once will this story lag or disappoint you, buy it. One warning though, don't start it at bedtime....
Rating: Summary: Suspense in the Truest Sense Review: In her fourth novel, Lisa Gardner has written about a twisted killer who develops a relationship with his victims and then goes in for the kill. FBI Special Agent Pierce Quincy isn't convinced that his daughter Mandy was solely responsible for the drunk driving accident in which she was killed. So Quincy hires P.I. Rainie Conner, a former cop whom he had previously worked with in Washington State. Though a past relationship between the two is cleverly hinted at, the nature of their involvement remains a mystery as the story line develops. When Rainie arrives in Virginia to investigate Mandy's accident, she discovers that there was someone in the car with Mandy when she died. Soon, Quincy begins receiving threatening phone calls. The victim count climbs as their connection to Quincy is established. In a plot cleverly crafted with twists and turns, Quincy is almost incontrovertibly linked to the crimes. Will he be able to anticipate the killer's next move before he claims another victim? With terrifyingly satisfying suspense, this novel is the quintessential example of a fabulous thriller. Until the mystery is uncovered in the final chapter, it is totally unclear as to the identity of the culprit. Brilliant in its execution and plot development, THE NEXT ACCIDENT is a novel not soon to be forgotten.
Rating: Summary: ONE OF THE BEST SUSPENSE NOVELS I'VE READ IN MY LIFETIME! Review: In my opinion, Lisa Gardner is one of the most talented novelists that there is on this planet. "The Next Accident" and all of her other three previous novels are magnificent masterpieces of psychological suspense. I actually think she is better than most of the female authors I've mentioned in earlier reviews. "The Next Accident" is Gardner's best novel yet, BY FAR! This one featured Rainie Connor and FBI Agent Pierce Quincy, (who were also in "The Third Victim). Quincy who lives in Virginia close to the FBI Quantico Headquarters, gets news that his daughter has been killed in a fatal car accident. Foul play is suspected. As Pierce tries to piece together the last events of his daughters past and try to narrow down a list of possible suspects with grudges, he starts to worry about his other family members, like his other daughter and his ex-wife. When another tragedy strikes, he goes to Portland, Oregon, to ask for Rainie's help. As Rainie and Pierce work together they have a hard time keep their attraction for each other a secret. Steamy romance and incessant suspense are non-stop in this fabulous thriller. Lisa, you have made it to the top of my list! I can't wait for you next one!

Rating: Summary: A promising thriller that fades at the end. Review: Lisa Gardner has stumbled badly with her latest novel, "The Next Accident". The book starts off promisingly, as Gardner reintroduces two characters whom I like, FBI profiler Pierce Quincy and former cop Lorraine (Rainie) Conner, both emotionally wounded people who need one another but who are either too proud or too frightened to admit how much they care. Conner is now a budding private investigator busy setting up her own practice in Oregon and Quincy is suffering a series of personal crises. His daughter, Amanda, has recently died after being on life support for over a year. She had crashed her car after driving drunk in what seemed to be a tragic accident. Quincy wants Rainie to look into the accident to see if it was really as straightforward as it seemed. Quincy's life gets more complicated in a hurry. A criminal with a grudge against him has robbed his identity and has given out his unlisted home number to criminals across the country. When tragedy strikes Quincy's ex-wife, it becomes obvious that someone is out to destroy not just Quincy, but his entire family, as well. Unfortunately, although Gardner sets up an intriguing plot, she does not have a satisfying solution to go with it. The identity of the villain is meant to be shocking, but it is merely ludicrous, and the ending is an insult to the reader's intelligence. The relationship between Rainie and Quincy is developed conventionally, and it is not enough to save the novel. As I have written often in my reviews, it is not enough for a thriller to have an engrossing beginning; the ending must have an internal logic that makes sense to the reader. "The Next Accident" has an ending that simply falls apart, and this does not make for an enjoyable reading experience.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding!! A Must Read!! Review: My mom read this book first and when she told me this is by far the best book she'd ever read, I couldn't wait to get started. I've never read a book so fast as I did this one. It's absolutely great.. it keeps you wondering and guessing as to who did it. I was so sad when I finished it. I've read her other books except The Third Victim which I just ordered. Her books just keep getting better and better. Can't wait to read The Third Victim and the Survivor's Club. If there's a book you must read, it's this one.
Rating: Summary: Keeps me awake watching the door Review: OK, I just finished The Next Accident and I'm definitely not going to fall asleep tonight. That book is brilliant! You never know what's going on until the very end. Even when you think you know, you later on figure you're wrong. It's one of those books you have to stop and digest every few pages, sort out your thoughts. A great combination of fear, suspense and passion. I loved it.
