Summary: One of the Best Books I've Read
Review: I found this book fascinating. I follow a lot of different types of mythology, and so the ties from the "real world" in the book into mythology were extremely interesting. I did however, have some friends who don't like mythology read the book, and they liked it too. It was also very well written, with an unpredictable ending. If I could've given six stars, this book is the only one I found that would have deserved it!

Summary: Did I Love This One? Yes!
Review: I had read Prescott's second novel, Stealing Faces, several months ago and loved it. Then I ordered Comes the Dark. I was fascinated...so what if I knew from the beginning the identity of the bad guy. That only made the workings of his mind more intriguing. How else could Prescott have brought in the Mother Earth religious overtones...how else could he have scared the britches off me? Only in this novel have I ever felt both repulsion and sympathy for the perpetrator of the crimes. Robert's aloneness is heartbreaking; he wants to belong, has never belonged and can't figure out how to belong. An exciting tale... and one that kept me too involved to get in the kitchen to make Christmas candy! I'm looking forward to Prescott's next novel...

Summary: Not His Best Work...
Review: I had to struggle to get through this one. The plot was terribly predictable and all the mythology references got tiring quickly. The plot seemed to be just one cliche after another...it didn't really offer anything unique. I guess I just expected more from Prescott after reading 'In Dark Places', where the last 200 pages of that book was some of the best reading I have ever done. The premise for 'Comes the Dark' was really good...I just don't feel he tried hard enough to give us a compelling storyline. I would recommend 'In Dark Places' over this one.

Review: i liked it sure. maybe i shouldnt have read the shadow hunter and stealing faces first. because it made this novel look bad. it took me awhile to read this because it was a little boring. it wasnt as bad ass and fast paced as his others. Im not knocking his book or anything, im just saying he's got something better goin' on! check out this one first. if you like it, then you'll be really suprised with his others.

Summary: captivating
Review: I picked up this book without expectations. I was immediately impressed with the prescotts writing style. I was instantly hooked and the pages flew by. Unlike other reviewers, I was not bothered by the author revealing the killer early. To me it made it more interesting (there ar plenty of "who done its" out there). I am not particularly interested in greek mythology... or should I say I wasnt until I read this book. I may just brush up on some of the mythological references, now. Thanks to Mr. Prescott for an interesting and entertaining read.

Summary: WORST BOOK I EVER READ!!
Review: I read alot of thriller, suspense, medical thrillers and this book was horrible!! By page 125 (less than 1/2 way thru) you know, who did it, why and how. Lots of suspense there.... NOT!! Also did I mention the supposed heroine is having an affair with the town police chief. I don't find people who have extramarital affairs particularly sympathetic people. And in the oldest of all plot lines, she goes investigating in the dark cave by herself without mentioning to her boyfriend, husband or anyone where she is going. Ever seen Halloween? People who go into dark places get into trouble - DUH. Don't waste your time or money on this book. Can't believe it even got published.

Summary: A REAL PAGE TURNER!
Review: I really enjoyed this book! It kept me turning pages, just on more page...just one more page. The momentum of this book was fastpaced. I'm not big into mythological characters, but I had an idea of who they were by how Robert was discribing them along the way. It added to his character and the warped way his thoughts worked. The way this book was written, you even felt sorry for the villan in the end. This was and excellent book. I look forward to Michael Prescott's next book!

Summary: THIS WAS A FANTASTIC BOOK!!!
Review: I started this book when my husband saw it in a store and thought I'd like it. Wow, was he right! I started it, then read whenever I could. It was an easy read, by by no means a boring one. The plot was gripping, and I found myself saying "Just one more page," or "one more chapter," only to find that I couldn't put it down at all. It was a continual cliff hanger. I'll definitely look for more of Mr. Prescott's books!!
