Rating: Summary: This HAS to be her best one yet! Review: WOW! I wasn't as impressed with her others combined as i was with this one! Congratulate Sue Grafton on a job well done! I enjoyed this one abouve all books I've ever read!
Rating: Summary: One of Grafton's best! Review: I think O is for Outlaw is one of the best in Grafton's series (much better then the last few ones). Kinsey was very funny and the story was intriguing. Bravo Ms. Grafton. I look forward to P is for ???
Rating: Summary: Wonderful, fun read, and well worth the wait!! Review: I couldn't wait to read Sue Grafton's latest work, and I was not disappointed. It was like getting re-acquainted with an old friend. The plot was excellent. The only problem I found with the book is that there was no way to guess "the bad guy" as the "answer to the plot" came completely out of the blue.
Rating: Summary: "O" is for Ordinary Review: I have read all the alphabet books, and even though this is not the worst, it is not the best either.I liked the incite into Kinsey's past, but I felt it was long and drawn out and the fact she did not get to square things with her first husband was very unsatisfying.
Rating: Summary: And "P is for ..." PLEASE make it soon! Review: In "M is for Malice", Robert Dietz came back into Kinsey's life, and she finally faced the fact that the superficial relationship that was enough for him, just wasn't enough for her. "N is for Noose", while a likeable read, really didn't do much to further Kinsey's character development. Along comes "O is for Outlaw", and that tantilizing glimpse of Kinsey's growing maturity finally begins to bear fruit. This story is about more than a look at Kinsey's past. What makes it unique is that Kinsey finally begins to really examine why she did things in the past, and how that affects decisions she makes to this day. In other words, it looks like Kinsey is really growing up. What will "P is for ..." bring? A shift in her relationship with Dietz? More about Henry? More about the Burton Kinsey family? Whatever comes next, PLEASE MAKE IT SOON!!
Rating: Summary: Sags in the middle Review: The first third or so of "O" is as good as anything Ms. Grafton has written. It was funny, intriguing, and insightful. Where this goes wrong is in the middle, when Kinsey keeps visiting her old haunt, the "Tonk" bar. The patrons were dull and repetitive, and, worse yet, the action seemed to stop completely. One got the sense that the book was supposed to be x pages long, and this was inserted to reach the requisite number. The last part is OK, but it just can't quite save the book. Too bad. I will continue to read Kinsey Millhone adventures and hope for better luck next time.
Rating: Summary: Seems a bit perfunctory; lacks complexity Review: I agree that the murderer was evident almost from when the character was introduced. I also thought that the end was rushed. And Henry and Rosie seemed to appear only for those of us who like them and expect to see them in each book. Their appearances were non-integral to the plot. And indeed, where was William? I have re-read "A" - "M" at least twice and listened to many of them on tape as well. "O" seems perfunctory and simplistic.
Rating: Summary: A Great Book Review: I have read all of the books in this series. I was a bit disappointed in "N", but decided to give "O" a try. I was so into this book that I was barely able to put it down. This book takes you on a very emotional journey. The ending is especially touching. I can't wait for "P".
Rating: Summary: Sue Grafton has outdone herself! Review: Not only is Kinsey Milhone back, she is better than ever. Yes she spends a little too much time reintroducing the reader to Kinsey, her habits, friends and her deliberately limited wardrobe, but the story is good and solid. I enjoyed reading about her ex-husband and about that portion of her past that I wasn't familiar with. My only wish is that Henry her landlord would figure more in Kinsey's stories. I know it's kind of kinky but why not make them romantically involved? He's a great character and very very loveable.
Rating: Summary: Best of the series! Review: If you have read any of the other Grafton books, you will be amazed at Grafton's ability to continue to provide wonderful entertainment as well as insight into what makes Kinsey tick.
