Rating: 5 stars
Summary: superb crime thriller
Review: On the surface it would appear that the members of THE SURVIVORS CLUB had nothing in common. Meg is a twenty-year-old college student; Carol is a fortyish uptown homemaker; and Jillian is a fiercely independent woman who runs her own business. Yet the three women have formed a strong bond based on the fact that they all survived attacks of a serial rapist.

Their group is largely responsible for the arrest of the College Killer Rapist. They all believe that the DA will have no trouble convicting Eddie Como for his crimes because his DNA matched with samples taken from all the crime sites. On the first day of the trial as Eddie is taken to court, an assassin on a nearby roof kills him. The women believe their nightmare is over but they will soon realize it is only just beginning.

THE SURVIVORS CLUB is a superb crime thriller told from the point of view of the three protagonists and the lead detective on the case. Lisa Gardner handles these multiple third person viewpoints so that the reader knows what is happening at all the time. However, this knowledge in no way gives a hint to what the final outcome will be or even if all the players will survive a diabolical psychopath's ingenious plan. Fans of Patricia Cornwell will enjoy Ms. Gardner's latest potboiler.

Summary: A MUST read!!!
Review: The Survivors Club, a group of women all victims of the College Hill rapist, get together to try to help one another heal the painful memories of their attack, and in the process help the police catch the rapist.

Eddie Como, the young man accused of the rapes, swears his innocence as his life is turned upside down by the women of the Survivors Club, until the day he is gunned down and killed in front of the courthouse.

Roan Griffin is the detective who knows what makes people cross the line into madness. Getting over the death of his wife, and the case that almost cost him his career, Roan is assigned to investigate the death of Eddie Como.

The shooting of Eddie was an obvious professional hit, but by who? Could the Survivors Club be behind this?

As Roan begins to investigate the Survivors Club there's another murder sending the city into a state of panic. Roan realizes there is a blood thirsty killer lurking in the dark, and the only way to stop him is to confront the demons from his past.

'The Survivors Club' is a non-stop, can't-put-it-down, rollercoaster thriller that shocks with every turn of the page. The thrills begin on page one, and continue for 350 more with plot twists, and shocking realizations. Anyone looking for a well-written page-turner will be hard pressed to find a better novel than 'The Survivors Club'.

Lisa Gardner has consistently written entertaining thrillers, but with her new novel she out does herself. I stayed well into the night turning page after page, anxious to see the outcome.

The season of summer blockbusters has begun, and 'The Survivors Club' is a sure pick for an un-put-downable, beach read bestseller.

A MUST read!

Summary: The Best!!!
Review: Lisa Gardner has done it again!! The premise of 3 women waiting for their day in court, only to find their attacker assasinated on the way into the courthouse was enough for me to get excited about. But then to find out that the Suspect might not have attacked the women after all and now all 3 have become murder suspects, maybe having killed an innocent man, is beyond Brillant!! This is a--Can't put the book down--Stay up all night kind of book--and it doesn't get any better than that!! Starting with The Perfect Husband--The Other Daughter--The Third Victim--The Next Accident and now The Survivors Club, Lisa Gardner just keeps getting better and better... I can't wait for her next one!!!!

Summary: Get Ready to be Entertained!
Review: When I read, I read strictly for entertainment. I want to be drawn into the plot and entertained by the characters. Lisa Gardner didn't draw me into the plot of The Survivors Club-she yanked me into it head first! From page one to the end, the suspense never lets up. I didn't think Ms. Gardner could top her last book, boy was I wrong.

The story opens with two men trying to plot the perfect brutal assault crimes without getting caught. They discuss theories and discard methods that haven't worked. Let me tell you it's unnerving to read something discussed so casually. Cut to the courthouse where a man is set to go on trial for brutally assaulting and raping three women and one who didn't survive the nightmare. Up on the rooftop lies an assassin waiting for the perfect shot to take the man out. The moment arrives, he fires, escapes to his awaiting car only blocks away. He starts the engine, boom-his car explodes. Meanwhile back on the job for his first day after an eighteen-month medical leave is a state policeman. He had witnessed the agonizing death of his wife while taking down the man known as the "Candy Man", a pedophile who killed ten small children and just happened to be the his next door neighbor. Thrown into the mix is three women who form the Survivors Club to deal with the trauma they have each went through. Three women, who come from different walks in life, with nothing in common other than they have survived every woman's worst nightmare. This is pretty intense stuff especially when you consider it's just the first three chapters of the book. But hey, Ms. Gardner doesn't let up there, chapter after chapter throws new curves that keeps this story as fresh and compelling as the first three chapters.

This book was mesmerizing. I'm sure there will be those out there who will criticize the fact that there was no romance in the book, or those who will think Ms. Gardner strayed into the unbelievable area on DNA and police procedures. But for someone who reads strictly for entertainment, this book has it all. Grab a copy and settle down for a fascinating journey with The Survivors Club. You won't be sorry.

Summary: SURPRISES AND SUSPENSE ABOUND!
Review: Few can create authentic, fully realized female characters as capably as Carol Kaplan. With "The Survivors Club" the women are not only living and breathing, but they're breathing fire.

Jill Hayes, Carol Rosen and Meg Pesaturo share a common bond: they've all suffered at the hands of the same rapist. They make up the Survivors Club; a trio fiercely determined that what happened to them will not happen to another woman. To that end they have been instrumental in the apprehension of Eddie Como, the College Hill rapist.

Readers are stunned when Como is shot, murdered in broad daylight outside a packed courtroom shortly before his trial is to commence. A double whammy is in store when his killer, a professional gunman is slain a short distance from the shooting.

These killings are the puzzle facing Detective Sergeant Roan Griffin. The obvious answer lies with the three women. But, could these women or one of them be capable of plotting such a scenario? Even more bizarre, could the trauma of her rape turn a peaceful, law abiding woman into a killer.

As Griffin probes for answers he comes face to face with beautiful Jillian; she is successful and apparently in control. Nonetheless she harbors the pain of the unspeakable.

Leave it to Lisa Gardner to provide another twist to her tale with the brutal attack of one more woman. There is still a sick someone on the loose who seems bent on making sure there are no survivors.

Another surprise filled, suspenseful yarn from the gifted Ms. Gardner...

Summary: Fast paced and exciting
Review: I loved this book. I will now move on to read more of Lisa Gardner's books. I could not wait to find out what happened. Just when you thought you had it all figured out, another twist would occur leaving you reeling. I had difficulty putting this book down because I was anticipating the next chapter. Awesome work, Ms. Gardiner.

Summary: How can a dead man commit a crime?
Review: How can a dead man, who had been assassinated early in the morning in clear view of the public while being delivered to a courthouse for trial, leave bodily fluids at a crime scene later that night? The closure that the prosecutors, the policemen, and the three victims of this serial rapist sought and needed was now cruelly denied and the public was nearly in a panic. Perhaps it was understandable for anyone so brutally attacked to plot revenge against her perpetrator. But now had the three victims, who had formed the Survivors Club, railroaded an innocent man, and, worse yet, had him killed? State police detective Roan Griffin feels echoes from his past in this bizarre case. It seems just a bit too convenient for this to be happening on his first day back on the job after being away for a year and a half to recuperate from a breakdown suffered in the pursuit of a murderous pedophile.

The book is really well constructed. The plot moves quickly with any number of interrelated developments that are high in plausibility yet surprising. The lives of the main characters, the three victims and Sergeant Griffin, leading up to this point, are well explained and integrated into the plot. The book is well worthwhile for those interested in well-written mysteries.

Summary: A six stars book from beginning till end
Review: You will get hooked with this book since the prologue and you wouldn't let it down till you finish it, you will never expect what will happen in the next page and that is essential in a good read, no matter if at half of the book you will know who is the bad guy, because you will not know how he did the felonies.
In the other hand, living with a rapist that is following you and you know that, is hard enough to keep you reading, maybe the book has 2 or 3 boring pages, but that is all.

Summary: Keeps you guessing.
Review: Many mystery novels are the literary equivalent of fast food. Not The Survivor's Club. Lisa Gardner has served up a gourmet meal with this one.
She has taken the time to give us an intricate plot which unfolds in such a way as to maximize suspense while keeping the reader engaged. Furthermore, the characters are richly fleshed out, thereby making both them and the story interesting and believable.
And for the more serious minded reader, The Survivor's Club delivers an ample amount of social commentary without being preachy.
This is one great novel. Suspenseful, well constructed, thoroughly engaging, substantial, and at times a bit frightening. The Survivor's Club has it all.
