Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Guilty of terrific plot and character development Review: Another spectacular Tami Hoag book. If you want a quick read, this isn't for you. But if you enjoy well written thrillers, with complex character development, this is an excellent book. The ending was surprising, and it made sense. I particularly enjoyed the flashbacks and dream sequences. One minor dissappointment was the lack of a detailed explanation of the behavior of one of the university professors at the end.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: fantastic Review: A great book for any mystery lover. It has all the things that make mysteries great: great characters, smart detectives, and all kinds of twists. This book is hard to put down.

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: 4 Stars! Review: I think "Guilty As Sin" was a wonderful book. Having read "Night Sins" first, I understood the background of the whole book. Slow moving at some times, with many unneeded details, I only gave this book four stars. The main problem I have is that there is no indication on this book that it's related to "Night Sins". The consumer doesn't know that this is sort of a follow up. Although I read the books in the right order, I wish she would make this issue more clear on any other series she does. Over all, I think "Guilty As Sin" was great.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Book 2 as good as the First one! Review: In Guilty as Sin the story centers on the child abduction that began in Night Sins. The story surrounds the perpetrator of the abduction of eight-year-old Josh Kirkwood. Ellen North, County Prosecutor and Mitch Holt, Police Chief for Deer Lake, Minnesota investigate. Ellen North must build a case against a suspect most people don't believe to be guilty. This book is as dynamic and riveting as the first and kept me enthralled as the mystery was first built into a more devious story and then slowly unraveled to a climatic end. A great story spread across these two novels. Highly recommended.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great Second Part to the Story Review: The continuation of the child abduction case Tami Hoag began in Night Sins. The story concerns itself with the perpetrator of the abduction of eight year old Josh Kirkwood. This is no simple case. The first suspect committed suicide. The second seems to have some alibi. Josh's father is even suspected to be tied into what has taken place. Ellen North, County Prosecutor and Mitch Holt, Police Chief for Deer Lake, Minnesota investigate. An excellent second part to a very well developed story. A complex and satisfying conclusion.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Guilty of NOT having an Editor Review: Tami Hoag's tale of a cold-blooded kidnapper wreaking havoc in a small Minnesota town, has a good plot, some excellent twists and turns, but is a very long-winded and often laborious read. A good editor could have streamlined this story. Prosecutor Ellen North is the well-developed central character of this entertaining and hard -hitting whodunit.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: A Long-winded Story Review: It has taken me over 4 weeks to finish this book because the story developed so slow that I often turned a few pages and then went to sleep ! If that is Ms Hoag's writing style, then I will skip her other books. My requirement of crime fictions is simple : the plot should catch the readers' attention and the pace fast. Words should not be wasted on unnecessary details. The storyline which appears on this book's jacket seems intriguing enough, but unfortunately the writer failed to deliver. Two-third of the book should be condensed. It's really annoying to see the same message appearing again and again (over 10 times ?) in the latter half of the book. Last but not the least, romance and crime don't mix. Sidetracks of love-interests will not appeal to those who expect to read a thriller.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: disappointment Review: Well, I just discovered by skimming through the customer reviews that Guilty As Sin is a sequel. That explains the gaps in the story. The story is not generous at all. It definitely doesn't stand alone. As I read the book, I was able to skip over the descriptive part and just read the dialogue. That doesn't say much for the story. After all whether or not Ellen's blonde hair is coming out of her bun doesn't really advance the 'story'...
