Rating: Summary: This is one of Kellerman's best mysteries. . Review: This is a fast paced, highly intriguing mystery with a different set of characters than Kellerman normally involves. I was glued to every page.
Rating: Summary: Another good one Review: This is my 3rd faye kellerman book. I, like many other reviewers had difficulty putting it down. I too was hopeing for more resolve at the ending, yet, i like that it kind of keeps you wondering. I'm looking forward to reading my next decker/lazarus mystery.
Rating: Summary: A delightful mystery that I didn't want to end! Review: This is the first Faye Kellerman book I've read and I cannot get the plot and characters off my mind. Ms. Kellerman made the characters belivable and eduring. I enjoyed this book so much I didn't want it to end. I wished to know what happened to the characters even after I finished the last page.
Rating: Summary: JUSTICE Review: THIS IS THE FIRST FAYE KELLERMAN I HAVE READ. THIS BOOK WAS FANTASTIC, I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. EXPECTED A WHOLE DIFFERENT ENDING, BUT WAS PLEASED WITH HOW SHE WRAPPED UP THE CASE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.
Rating: Summary: Scary Review: This was an interesting book, although I prefer a writing style more to-the-point. This author reminds me a little of V.C. Andrews or Mary Higgins Clark, in that the 17-year old in this story seemed way ahead of others her age, in some of her thoughts and actions.
The story was interesting, but this is my first Kellerman novel, and I found it hard at first to keep going from the third-person narration of the Peter/Rina scenes and the first-person dialog of Theresa - I kept thinking, what the heck is the connection here? It made more sense as the book went along, but it's jarring at first.
The book could do with less of the religion aspect, also. If I want to read about the Jewish religion and customs, or Catholic guilt and penance, I'll choose a non-fiction book about those topics. Some authors can weave non case-related info into a mystery/detective novel in a seamless way that makes you feel you learned something while enjoying a fictional story, but that's not the case here. I felt like Rina was hounding me to attend services - it just doesn't fit in the story well.
One major problem with the story, though, ***** SPOILER ALERT **** was that earlier in the book, Chris' uncle/father stood to lose a tremendous amount of money if Chris didn't marry his uncle's business rival's daughter. There was no way to get out of that deal. Then suddenly at the end of the book, his uncle says that Terry would "make him (Chris) great babies", and the plan is that Terry and Chris would go back to New York together. Say what?
I did like the fact that NOT every tiny thread was neatly tied up at the end, though, like whether Peter actually saw some of the videotapes of the police officer in the motel, or whether he was just making educated guesses to help obtain an admission of guilt.
This seems to be an intriguing series, though, so I will try another.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: This was the first book by Faye Kellerman that I had ever read. And I loved it. The plot keeps you wanting to read more and more unitl you finally find out what happens with chris and to see if he did it or not. I'm 16, and I don't read alot but this book made me want to read more of her books. Right now i'm reading Stalker. It's not as good as Justice, but it's pretty good.

Rating: Summary: a poor job on the characters makes this book a bad one Review: This was the first book that I read by Faye Kellerman, and probably the last one too. When I read the synopsis on the backside of the book, it sounded really promising. However, the characters (terry and Chris)were so badly written. First of all, they weren't very believable, nor sypethetic. And I'm sooooo bored with these sweet, innocent, suffering and beautiful catholic girls. And what was that about Chris' penis. The auther must have a thing for big boners, why else was it so well described? I know this book was meant for women and I also know that sex sells, but come on! If I want sweet catholic girls and boring love stories, I prefer Virginia Andrews.
Rating: Summary: Read this book only if a gun is being held to your head Review: Upon completing this book, I instantly placed it on the woodpile -- I figured I'd save someone else the horrible experience of reading the book, and I hoped that something good (heat) would finally come of it being written. The characters are pathetic and psychotic, the "plot" contained enough holes to drive a truck through, and the dialog made me wretch. The author should be tried for crimes against humanity.
Rating: Summary: Kept me interested Review: We learned "who dunnit" very soon into the story. However, the whys and hows were unraveled very slowly as the complexities of the characters was revealed. I found it hard to put the book down and came to respect Decker. In this book, the family angle was downplayed and the detective story progressed on its own with the majority of the focus on the actual solution of the "crimes." I recommend it.
