Summary: Just Not Koontz Enough For Me
Review: I don't understand why this book is getting such positive reviews. Don't get me wrong -- I love Koontz. I've read 90% of his work and I've even managed to enjoy the last few decidedly non-horrific works like Fear Nothing and Seize The Night. The writing, as always, is just fine. Nobody in the genre ('cept King maybe) has such a grasp of their art. Trouble is, Koontz is getting way to soft in his age. There is a preciousness about the "good guys" in this book that is just suffocating and, frankly, more appropriate to a far lesser writer. There is nary a curse word in this book, and while that is hardly a prerequisite for "accomplished" horror writing, it does demonstrate just how prudish Koontz has become of late. Koontz's world just isn't that scary anymore and that's why I became a paying customer. I long for the halcyon days of Cold Fire, Twilight Eyes, Hideaway (his best!!!), and Mr. Murder, among others. This is all just my opinion, but it's an informed one. If you want horror, skip this book. If you want sickly sweet characters doing endearing things left and right, by all means...

Summary: Kudos Koontz!
Review: What a great book! This was my first book by Koontz and after reading this I must read more. I couldn't put it down. I just wish that something different happened to the "bad guy". That's the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars.

Summary: Not just a "Horror" writer
Review: I am writing this review mainly to address people who have never read Dean Koontz or just one or two of his older novels. I would not classify some of his most recent works as horror. Mr Koontz is a surprisingly detailed writer, for awhile I speculated that he was actually a woman, due to the accuracy of his portrayals of his female characters.

This book is hard to catergorize, but I highly reccomend it. It is graphic in parts, but on the whole, it is a very compelling story.

I would also reccomend his last book "False Memory" to anyone looking to try Dean Koontz.

Summary: Koontz can do much better.
Review: I have always been a Dean Koontz fan. However, I was truly disappointed with this book. Maybe it's because I had really high expectations, nevertheless, the book was disappointing. First of all, it took me two weeks to finish the book (I normally read a novel of this size within two days). There were times when I felt the book was rambling on. In addition, there were too many pages that said a whole lot of nothing! Sorry Koontz, I am still a fan of yours, but this time you missed your mark.

Summary: Can't put it down!!
Review: I have always enjoyed Dean Koontz's writing. His books keep me on absolute edge until the very ending. I'm the only person in my age group that enjoys his books, but I'm sure that if anyone read something by him, they'd be as hooked as I am. Great book, I recommend anything by him 110%!!!

Summary: Thank Goodness Koontz is back
Review: After being disappointed by the Christopher Snow novels I am delighted with his last two novels. With all the evidence of quantum physics coming out this novel gives it a different twist. Without trying to get into long drawn out discriptions of the workings, ala Michael Crichton's Time Line. I found Junior Cain one of the best of Koontz' villians, because of his ludicrous motivations, he reminded me of some people I know. This novel seemed to me to be an exploration of spiritual values that may seem to be missing in todays society, but are there just below the surface.

Summary: I loved it!
Review: I'm a big Koontz fan, and this book is definitely right up there in my top 5 Koontz books. I enjoyed the characters who I felt were well written, deep people. The book reminded me greatly of the two Chris Snow books and maybe that's why I liked it so much. If you like Koontz, especially the Snow books, I say buy this one. You won't go wrong.

Summary: Too long, too mystical
Review: Starts out good, interesting characters, and starts to weave them together well. However, it gets slower, longer, and stretchs your credibility more and more. Needed editing badly. Disappointing.

Summary: Thoroughly Enjoyable
Review: I can't begin to say how much I enjoyed this novel but I will -- I truly enjoyed this novel and could not imagine putting it down until I finished it. I believe Mr. Koontz is back on track. From the Corner of His Eye reminds me of the old Koontz and he did an excellent job with it. Will there be a continuation? As always, waiting for the next release.

Summary: From the corner of his eye
Review: This is definitely not one of Koontz's better books. It is long and drawn out and is difficult to follow. He jumps back and forth from one character to the next. One of his characters in the book you don't even hear about until 25 chapters later after her birth. He should stick to what he does best; horror.

Definitely not his best work.
