Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: needs a showdown Review: Not a bad book, but it kind of lost me in the middle with the explanation of the quantum physics thing. I guess he did have to explain how they all got together. Also I would have liked to have had a longer confrontation at the end. You read the entire book expecting a big showdown and suddenly it's over. Still, I'd recommend it.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: And they all lived happily ever after... Review: I bought this book at the airport as I was flying out from Minneapolis to London, and I was glued to the book until I finished it. Unfortunately, the finish was what disappointed me about the book. I felt that Koontz decided he had written enough, so he tied up all the loose ends and just stopped writing. The quantum physics thing and what made those kids special was what I was the most interested in finding out about, but I felt it was never really brought to a satisfying completion. One thing I did enjoy was the contrast between the good and evil characters. They were so extreme as to be caricatures - but it's obvious it was on purpose. I really loved the characters I was supposed to love, and really hated the one I was supposed to hate. Overall, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it highly. The reason it only got four stars was because of the ending. Happy New Year, everyone!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Was It One Plot or Two? Review: I was engorssed in the book, until the main plot never evolved into a plot at all! It seems the author changed his mind midstream.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Good, not great, another psycho-killer book Review: I enjoyed this book but in six months I won't be able to remember anything about it. I am a big Koontz fan but this wasn't one of his better books. If you have never a Koontz novel read "Watchers". This book devotes a least 500 pages on the killer and his bizarre thoughts and actions. The good guys aren't that well developed (one major character doesn't show up until 3/4 finish) and the book kind of runs out of steam and ends.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Strange and Intriguing... Review: From the corner of his Eye was diffrent from all the other Dean Koontz novels I've read. This book did not deal strictly with death, murder, and mayhem. It also had a deeply rooted spirituality to it. Bartholomew (Barty) Lampion is diffrent from other children. He is reading at a 8th grade level at age 3, and also doing advanced math. However, young Barty is blinded when his eyes are removed to save him from a fast-spreading cancer. Junior Cain murders his young wife in cold blood. And kills again and again, searching for a mysterious Bartholomew, who he fears will destroy him. Celestina White is a young aspiring artist who adopts her younger sister's baby, Angel, who was brutally concieved in a rape, after her sister dies. Celestina doesn't know, however, that Angel will be the focus of a brutal manhunt... By someone who wants her dead. Joined by others who are as courageous and unique, these people will try and protect Barty and Angel from a ruthless killer... And discover the tremendous power that these two small children have inside.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Total disappointment Review: It's undeniably boring book. I usually don't read Koontz for exception of Watchers that I have read some time ago. There's a certain qualities you expect and don't expect from the book of this caliber. Indeed one can't anticipate it to be a classical kind of literature but rather good easy sort of reading that keeps your attention to the very end. Not so with this book. This book is BORING, characters are either sugary good, or bad evils. The story plot is slow if not to say the least. There's a praise that publishers sometimes put in the very beginning of the book. According to its (book) own praise from USA TODAY: "Koontz tries to create serious literature. He largely succeeds with From the corner of his eye". I mean, why would anyone tried to "create serious literature" if he was doing fine with easy good thriller , at least as I remember from funny but highly entertainable Watchers. The author isn't good with serious literature he's horrible with it
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Up All Night! Review: This is definitely the best Dean Koontz book I've read yet! I especially love the villian that Koontz chose for this book. You can laugh at him as well as dread whatever he's going to do next. The characters are all so well written that you feel like you've known them all your life. This is a very well written book that will keep you turning the page all night long!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Best! Review: As usual, Mr. Koontz doesn't disappoint, and has done a wonderful job with this one. Great character study, especially with the psychotic killer, Junior Cain. Mr. Koontz allows the reader to see into the mind of a deranged killer and takes you on a ride you'll never forget. Absolutely intriguing read!
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Much ado about nothing Review: If there was a compelling story here, I missed it. The quoted reviews must have been written by folks who didn't read this one. Were they serious?
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Stand in the Corner Review: I found this book to be very disappointing. The main antagonist was bizarre to say the least and his problems with every killing were comical and had no reason in the whole plot line. Then when the book is ended it's like he was tired of writing and decided ok i'm done. It's like a Stephen King ending a lot of pages with no great finish or any finish. I don't know what happened but this one sure missed it.
