I heard him on Art Bell's program last week and thought I would check him out.I had a hard time getting interested in the characters and then it got worse. I didn't care what happened to any of them really and ended up skimming through it just to see how it ended. Not my cup of tea.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: what climax? Review: Very strange book indeed. One of my favorite Koontz books was 'Ghost's' and I've been reading him over the years for light hearted topical suspense. This is what happened to me w/ this book... I got to the *cherished* climactic end -- and had little idea I was there! Reason? Uneven pacing, benign characters, and a goody-two shoes plot line that finally numbed me. I actually got to the end, saw 'author's note' and realized I had just cruised thru the last chapter. But truly, the last chapter, last paragraph could have been re-written half way through the darn book with out to much effort. Generic, oft-repeated lines of thought, and a lack of a closure or final "Oh -yeah.. ah-hah!" that we usually get. I like you Dean, but let's get back to basics!
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Am I missing something?? Review: This book was a major letdown. The characters are diverse to the point of being ridiculous, and equally unreal. The antagonist (Junior) was impish and his ultimate demise (really...i'm not giving anything away here...Koontz's entire antagonists line-up all end up on the losing end) was a colossal letdown. It's time Koontz stop churning out cookie cutter novels and take some time to write a decent book, like his book Lightening.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: a proof that changes can be a good thing Review: Quite different from Koontz's previous novels... in the good way!! I always loved the way Koontz cruises between a number of completely different stories only to tie them together at the end in a superb and mostly unexpected way. That always kept me on the edge and divided between the urge to read the next turn on story #1 (by jumping a few pages) and the growing curiosity to follow all the others equally captivating story lines. But this time he really did it: instead of leaving you curious about what will happen next, he just goes on and, right at the end of each chapter, tells you that the character you were getting to like so much will drop dead?!?!? How can a sane person put down the book now before finding out how in God's name that happened and what will come out of it?? Talk about anti-climax!! Absolutely captivating characters which reminded me of those in the very first Koontz's novel I read: Watchers (the one that got me hooked for good). I'm glad I got the hardcover 'cause this is a keeper.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Spellbinding! Review: "From the Corner of His Eye" by Dean Koontz is absolutely spellbindng. Good versus evil, hero versus villain. And there is more than one hero in this book! I was fascinated with the way Mr. Koontz allows us to peek into the mind of an evil, deranged killer, walk with him, see what he sees, feel what he feels, think what he thinks. Just perfect! I did not want this one to end!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A Shining Masterpiece! Review: This story is a slick cliffhanger that will keep you in suspense. Ultimately one of the best good versus evil thriller I have ever read.In a unique introduction Koontz weaves a great tale of how fate ties two families together to fight off the ruthless psycho-killer known as Junior Cain. A very exciting read that will keep you wanting more of the horror and semi-sci-fi action.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: this boring book Review: This was the most boring book i have ever read. i do not recomend it to anyone. The three different storines in one book about the same person is very stupid. I think dean koontz was on drugs or something when he wrote this book. i didnt even want to read the rest of it it was so boring. steven king is a much better writer if you want a good book to read pick up a steven king book!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: nancy's review on the koontz book from the corner of his eye Review: I thought that this was a pretty intresting book. The things that had happen you probably wouldn't of guessed would of happened. Like in the beginning of the book when junior killed his wife Naomi, no one ever exspected that. Then how Junior became this really awful person, we found out that he had a lot of bad passed and also a bad future. Vanadium was a good character to be used in this book, because you didn't know what he was going to do or when he was going to apear. Angel and Barty ended up being Junior's evil enemys because they sent him into a different world. Over all I thought this book was really good, and I would enjoy reading more of his books.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Reaffirms my appreciation for Dean Koontz Review: I've always enjoyed Koontz's characters. He knows each one so well. The characters are introduced, we get first impressions, form opinions, and then gradually become acquainted then familiar with them. And what an incredible ride to be carried along with Junior Cain, for half the book, seeing the world from his point of view, practically empathizing with the man. Gradually we become aware just how fractured this self improved man is. As new characters are developed we get to observe Cain from a new vantage point. I, for one, was glad that Junior's haunting was not supernatural. I much prefer believablity to a 'ghost' story. The fun was being lead to believe one thing, watching Junior develop (or come apart), and then learning the source of his distress. Barty's supernatural talents added a nice build up although in the end I completely lost interest in the whole quantum physics/parallel world angle. The gory hospital scenes in the first 100 pages were grueling and the impending meeting between Barty and Cain materialized into a coincidence (a non-event), but the fact is... I was so overwhelmed with the unfolding of the characters in this story that I can hardly give it anything but a perfect score. Length could have been trimmed a bit so let's go 9/10. I finished this book last week and today I am half way through my first James Patterson novel. I guess it isn't fair to Patterson. My mind is still so involved with the Junior Cain/Thomas Vanadium conflict, that I'm missing the 'Jack and Jill' adventure.
