Summary: A Cute Series That You'll Love....
Review: "Aunt Dimity's Death" is the start of a great series by Nancy Atherton. I LOVE this series. It is a blend of fairy tale and mystery and romance set against the background of english manors and mayhem.

If you are reluctant to try a series that has a "ghost" in it -try just this one book. It doesn't so much center around Aunt Dimity as it does the main character. And unbelievably, the reader will probably find himself wishing just a little bit that he too possessed such a journal. (I know that I sure wanted her rabbit!)

This is light reading, but VERY worthwhile. It transports one to a simpler place and time.

Summary: Judge this book by it's cover!
Review:

The story is a nicely balanced blend of three genres: mystery, romance, and ghost story. Those readers who are repelled or reluctant to read a "typical" romance, mystery or ghost tale should give this book a chance. The author has avoided syrupy sentimentality, the ghost is so tame, you can read this story out loud on Halloween night to a party of eight-year olds without raising anyone's heartbeat. The cover of this book shows a pink stuffed bunny and the spirit of stuffed rabbit accompanies you throughout the book. No matter what the circumstances, there is never any doubt that in the end everything will be put right; there is just enough of a "mystery" to keep your interest. However, the prose is graceful and pulls you along even as the plot unfolds exactly as expected. The characters are charming and I truely wished to be invited to tea at Aunt Dimity's cottage. The lawyers are so compassionate and quirkly charming that even I could not mind marrying one. The english countryside is described so gloriously that a sedate bibliophile is tempted to go take a walk preferably in an english garden. This is a book that I tuck by my bed to sooth myself to self to sleep. I look forward to reading the further adventures of Aunt Dimity and Lori.

P.S. As a lagniappe, there is a very nice cookie recipe included in the back. Bake the cookies, pour yourself a nice glass of milk and read. It doesn't get much better than this.

Summary: Aunt Dimity is gone....or is she?
Review: A stuffed bunny and a self-writing diary don't seem like the most likely helpers to solve a mystery, but Nancy Atherton uses both to great effect. Aunt Dimity is quite a lady, and her (living) helpers aren't bad either. I find myself caring about these people, and can't wait for the next installment.

Summary: You WILL enjoy this book -- even if against your will.
Review: Although a little put-off by the bunny and the ghost, I found the book enchanting, if only because the protagonist (OK woman sleuth) isn't beautiful, svelte and perfect. A wonderful, absorbing read. All I can add to the other reviews, is that you need to read it whilst sipping tea on a rainy, cold day.

Summary: Loved it
Review: Aunt Dimity was just what I needed--a gentle, upbeat cozy mystery with a little light romance thrown in for good measure. I plan to read the other Aunt Dimity books curled up beneath a blankie with a cup of hot tea and buttered brown toast, preferably on a rainy day. This book made me smile, and that's a good thing.

Summary: Wonderful Book!
Review: Aunt Dimity's Death is a wonderful book! My teacher, Miss O., had our class listen to an audiobook and write an online review. Well, I'm glad I picked this book because it was excellent! Lori, who is a main charactor, helps Aunt Dimity. At first, Lori thought that Aunt Dimity was a lady from childhood stories. Now she finds out that Dimity was a REAL person and Dimity is dead. The book is great. It is a little bit of romance and mystery mixed together. Lori also goes on all these adventures to help Dimity. You are going to have to find out how she helps her on your own! Read the book!!
