Summary: This Year's MUST READ
Review: I don't rate many books Must Read, but this one nailed it. I have never seen a book that came across with such power. It was nearly impossible to remind myself that in many cases, I was not reading actual history, but historical fiction. The history and the fiction are intertwined so artfully I sometimes could not tell the difference. Don't pass this book up. The day after I finished it, I actually missed reading it!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Written by a keen observer of history
Review: I notice there is only one negative review of this book, by someone who didn't buy it but checked it out of a library. The funny thing is, this person apparently read it all the way through. I've sold over 20 titles in the last 6 years, but I've not done anything approaching the magnitude and importance of this novel. Mr. Ross has done a fine job and gives voice to many principles that many, many Americans think should be common-sensically understood by government agents, yet are utterly and completely ignored. Unintended Consequences is a seminal work.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: should be read by every history class in america!!
Review: This book will not be reviewed on Oprah because shows like hers are part of the problem.
I plan to give copies of this book to everyone I know so that they can possibly understand we're not the "gun nuts" or the "right wingers"(like it's a dirty word)that the media portrays us as!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Outstanding understanding of History and Constitution
Review: As a historian by training, I found Mr. Ross to have a very good understanding of the reasons for the Founding Fathers' words in the Constitution. These men were not all lawyers or even college educated. They were able to write and agree on a document that is understandable to anyone with a grasp of english. Mr. Ross wrote on the excess of power by the government with a primary view of the Second Admendment, but added other excesses into the mix. The view that the govenment is out of control is a shared view by many segments of society, each within their own limited field. All the "fictional comments" that Mr. Ross writes can be heard at different places and times within today's society. Reviewers have talked about UC with comparisons to "Common Sense" and "Uncle Tom's Cabin", they may be right. As a co-designer of a game called, "The Second American Revolution: Restoring the Constitution", I find the actions of the hero totally understandable. Our game takes a different path towards the same end, restoring our freedoms. As a gun owner and veteran, I can say in reply to the reviewer that could not understand how an educated man could take the lives of the agents, it was the action needed in the hero's mind. My guns have killed less people than a famous Senator's car (not counting line of duty). As a Jew, the story of the Warsaw Uprising was a warning to all of us that it could happen here under certain conditions. This book is a must read for not only the "Gun Culture" , Congress, or any one group. It is for all Americans, all men and women of this nation of the people. It should be sent to at least five friends that do not view the problem as that bad. It may alert them, especially if you include a copy of the Constitution with it. You may not agree with all aspects of Mr. Ross's style, but the content will open your eyes.

Summary: Save United States by reaching others.
Review: If you have a friend give them a copy of this book and encourage them to read it. If you have too many friends to give them all a copy then just pick a few and ask them to read it and pass it on to others. America has a chance to survive its Socialist Leaders if we read this book and get others to read it. Besides it is the most fun and exciting read you have had the last 10 to 20 years so it is painless

Summary: This book cost me a lot of sleep
Review: This book covered a lot of ground that I was already aware of, yet it pulled everything into a new perspective. Just an incredible story. Frightening in many ways, but this book could easily go down in history as a spark to a new revolution. I bought this book on the recomendation of a friend. I read it in two days, giving up all but a few hours sleep each night and counting it a fair swap. Since I finished it I have loaned it to two others who read it through then ordered their own copies. That means it's a keeper. A book you read not just once or twice, but many times over your life. Mine will take a place of honor on my shelves. One friend plans on buying several copies and sending them to his Senators and Representative. A prior commentor, the only negative one I read, stated that the book was anti semetic. By saying this he clearly proved he had not read the book at all. Read it yourself and see why I can say that.

Summary: If you read only one book this year, make it this one!
Review: This book is a must read for those who want the real story of the erosion of our Constitutional Rights! I give this book an 9 due to the frequent technical information, but it makes up for it in the history of the systematic chipping away of our Second Amendment Rights. While this book has a biased towards the pro-firearm movement, it shows how a democracy can take away all of our rights without creating an uprising which led to the formation of our country. This is a must read book for all those concerned with our individual rights and how they're being taken away. It also provides an accurate picture of most of our nation's law abiding firearm owners, not the crazies promoted by our media. Learn the truth about firearms, not the propaganda from the media. A little slow going in the beginning, but you won't be able to put it down! Maybe Oprah should take a look at this one.

Summary: Execllent Book for Gun Owners & Civil Rights Champions
Review: A "must read" for gun owners who have
strong beliefs about their Constitutional
Rights as addressed in the 2nd.
Amendment. All Federal Firearms
Licensees should read this book. There
are some very good and interesting factual
events included, but the dramatization,
while graphic, can get a little incredible for
readers not familiar with firearms capabil-
ities. The plot, however, is somewhat
along the lines of the book "Absolute
Power".

Unfortunately, this is another pubication
that, due to its limited distribution to the
general public, will not be read by those
who really need to see the other side of
the "Gun Control" and "Big Brother"
issues.

The high rating, therefore, is somewhat
biased coming from an individual who is
deeply involved in what the book
describes as the "gun culture".

Summary: Unintended Consequences is an important work of fiction.
Review: Its main quality is that it teaches history while telling a story. Readers of this type of fiction will find themselves going to the library to research the facts behind some of the sequences in the book (i.e. the Veterans Bonus March Massacre). The main character is somewhat unbelievable in his sudden transformation from average citizen to ruthless killer, hence the "9" rating. The story moves fast, belying the length of the book itself, and the technical information, as far as I have been able to disciver, is accurate. All in all, it's a must read for lovers of historical fiction, or "closet minutemen"

Summary: Excellent Xmas present!

The book is the most interesting depiction of
one possible future that I have ever read.
