Summary: Unbelievacle.
Review: I picked up UC for 2.00 at a used book store. I had no idea what I was buying into. I am not a member of the gun culture and have never owned a gun. However, this book has truly opened my eyes on political issues that I had mainly ignored as I believed they did not affect me. Boy was I wrong? A co-worker of mine is a 'Gun Nut' and I have passed the book on to him. Although I still have no intention of owning a gun, I believe that, at least in spirit (and on election day) I am on the fringe of the movement. A groupie you might say. Wonderful work for a first effort. I hope we see more like it. As an aside. I live about 40 min. from Athens, TN and had never heard of the events which took place there.

Summary: sensational
Review: this book ,brings to light what we of the "gun culture" have been enduring for years , that we are letting our rights and our freedoms become eroded by the very people we trust with our nations guidence and future, its time we woke up and smelt the coffee these people want our livelyhoods , our sport recreation and our lives thanks to "UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES" maybe we can rescue something from the ANTI's and make all of our nations safe again

Summary: Outstanding
Review: A Wake Up Call to the Gun Owner. One of the best books at showing why gun control will never work. An insight into the gun culture, especially poignant after recent revelations regarding the FBI and Waco. I plan on sending this book to my friends for christmas presents.

Summary: An Important Lesson in How Freedom is being taken.
Review: August 20, 1999.

I just finished Mr. Ross' book UC and have to say right away that it was one of the most educational docu-fictional books that I have ever read. How many of us can say we are "that frog slowly boiling in the pot", not realizing that our Freedoms are being chipped away little by little. If this book were allowed to be required reading in all high schools and colleges it would have a definite affect on this country. This book will never get the attention of a Stephen King or Tom Clancy novel even though it is written by a man from St. Louis who shows he has as much if not more writing ablility for his first novel! Mr. Ross, when you get tired of plinking, this country could still use your talent to bring more of these issues to the peoples attention with more great books like this one. Thanks!

Summary: The Best Book I have read in over 20 years
Review: John Ross's UC was an enlightening piece of work that corraborates much evidence the government would rather its citizens wouldn't know. Wake up America, this is not only an important book, but a call to arms. Act now before another Waco, or Ruby Ridge is allowed to happen right in front of our eyes. Vote. We must initiate the repeal of all of the unconstitutional gun laws that have been inacted against our freedoms.

Summary: Great book! Especially good for firearms enthusiasts.
Review: One characteristic of this book is that it takes a while to get to the more exciting parts. However, the early wind up is very interesting for people who have some technical or historical interests in firearms and the shooting sports. So, for the firearms enthusiast, the book is good all the way thru. For the average reader, the book has more of a build up.

The last third of the book is electrifying - I could not put it down and stayed up late nights.

Summary: The gun culture expressed such that liberals may understand
Review: I've given several copies of John's book, which he graciously autographed for each recipient. The response from each was such that we have all read it more than once. My nine year old son has his own autographed copy which he will read in a few years and pass on to his children. I only wish that the legislative and media talking heads were required to read this damn near biblical work as a condition of office or employment. I have spoken to both John and his wife, Caroline, on several ocassions(phone only) and found them to be real and solid Americans. If only I could say the same for our legislators.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: must read for every free american
Review: should be required reading for all law students and legislators. freedom is dear to us, don' let them gradually take it away.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: For Australians, the parrallels are disturbing
Review: This is no light-weight tome. I was surprised, however, how easy the book is to read. The day-by-day sequence allowed me to take digestible "bites" to get through this detailed "Docu-fiction". The author is to be congratulated..... and admired.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Personal Responsibility can be "Politically Correct"
Review: As a member of the "gun culture" and citizen of the USA, I couldn't help but like this work. It embraces the virtues of personal responsibility....I find this most welcome and refreshing. Ross' plot is thoughtful, entertaining, and often frightening. Its lessons are worth remembering, and its themes are worth sharing.
