Summary: Had to get to the end - didn't want to put it down!
Review: Guilt is a well written thriller and grabs your attention and won't let go. From the beginning you can't wait to see what is going to happen next. It is impossible to put this book down. As each piece of the story unfolds, you feel yourself moving from feelings of sympathy for the main character to hatred. I would highly recommend this book. It was entertaining and quick to read.

Summary: Well-written, easy-reading mystery.
Review: I am not a fan of mysteries, but I picked up this book on vacation and was impressed by how well-written it is. Character and plot development were good, although it could have used a few twists and turns.I would let my teen-aged son read this.Fun--I'll read more by this author.

Summary: NO SLEEP UNTIL THE END!!!
Review: I AM USUALLY SO SUSPICIOUS ABOUT "PAGE TURNER" REVIEWS. A REVIEW ON THE BACK COVER OF "GUILT" WARNED ME THAT I SHOULD READ IT OVER A WEEKEND. OF COURSE I CHUCKLED AND WENT AHEAD. WELL, I STAYED UP ALL NIGHT...I WAS THE "PAGE TURNER" AND I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN. THE ENDING IS KILLER, A COMPLETE SURPRISE AND SO SATISFYING. MY HUSBAND AND SON ARE FIGHTING OVER WHO GETS IT NEXT. THE BEST BOOK I'VE READ THIS YEAR!!

Summary: good only to kill time on an airplane
Review: I bought this book to kill time on an airplane and it accomplished the task. It doesn't require much thought and it reads fast. As a courtroom drama, it is only fair. As a suspense novel, there is very little suspense. I felt like I was in the midst of a soap opera made up of very unbelievable characters. I will not read any more of this author's work unless I have need to kill time on another plane ride.

Summary: Loved it. Worth the time.
Review: I didn't have any idea of what to expect with this novel. It was laying around so I read it. I was blown away. I didn't care that it took almost 300 pages to find it's true course. I was hooked by the characters. I loved the fact that they made you wonder about Mark's innocence. Truly worth the time.

Summary: Extremely interesting gimmick
Review: I found the book interesting and a good read. I've been a Lescroart fan since "The 13th Juror," and truly feel like the San Francisco about which he writes actually exists.

But there's something more here, and if someone has brought it up already, then please forgive the redundancy.

In "Guilt," Lescroart has done something very clever. If you read the previous novel, "A Certain Justice," then you already know the identity of the killer in "Guilt." That's because most of "Guilt" takes place prior to "A Certain Justice."

Chronologically, "A Certain Justice" takes place within the pages of "Guilt," and the later novel gives a brief summary of the prior novel's events at the appropriate point.

It's an interesting approach. They're both terrific novels, and while I missed Dismas Hardy, it was good to spend time getting to know Glitsky. I highly recommend both books.

Summary: Fulfilling!
Review: I have never read any of John Lescroart's books before, and I was stunned when I read this one! I thought this would be another court room drama, but it actually turned out to be more. Lescroart does a wonderful job bringing up the issue of what you would do to get what you thought was the "perfect" mate. Could murder actually be something you would consider? Obviously the villain in this book did more than consider that option, he took it. He didn't feel there was any other way to get what he wanted.

On the other hand, Lescroart does such a great job of developing his characters, that I felt like I would know them if I ran into them on the street. While developing his characters so well, he shows how relationships are important in all of his characters' lives. The relationships he examines range from friends, to lovers, to parents and even siblings. As a matter of fact, the motive for the crime was relationship. The villain wanted a relationship with this beautiful, young women, and he thought murder was the only way he could have her.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants more than just another court room drama.

Summary: Plot was discussed in A Certain Justice!!!!!!!!!
Review: I have not read this book and don't know that I ever would since the entire story was discussed in A Certain Justice. What would be the point when I know how it turns out
