Rating: Summary: Midwest Book Review - a spicy romp plus suspense!! Review: Move over Danielle Steele and Grace Metalious and make room for your new rival. I know mentioning Grace Metalious dates me, but she was after all the one time reigning queen of sizzling sex and quirky characters. And Grace has nothing on this author. Upscale East Bay Lambert sets the locale for this first in Ms. Murray's Lambert Series. This chic haven for the very rich offers everything that jaded appetites might want and more. Scandalous behavior is the norm, and intemperance in all activities is encouraged. Everything from drug and alcohol excesses to swinging or perverted lifestyles are overlooked at Lambert. Nouri Sommers is somewhat of a lamb amidst the pack of wealthy jackals who frequent Lambert. She has past loves but is now very married to the handsome and powerful Ethan, with just one little problem. The sexy Ethan isn't quite as sexy as he looks. At least, not where his young bride is concerned. Night after night she sits alone in their huge mansion, pouring her heart out in a journal to ease her loneliness and longing for her husband. Lonely bride + inattentive husband is bad enough, but add in two men who adore Nouri and the mix turns spicy. Clint Chamberlain is Ethan's lawyer, nursing a secret passion for Nouri. He's more than up to the task at hand, but will Nouri stray? And then there is Charles Mason, the private eye Nouri hires to track her errant hubby's activities. That Mason is her one-time lover only adds fuel to the already combustible cast of characters. And I haven't even mentioned Clint's mentally deranged wife, Becka, or Nouri's best friend, the deceitful Genna. Before the last page, new relationships will be established and some will end in murder. Nothing is really resolved for Nouri or her dashing suitors. You'll have to read book two in the Lambert series if you want answers. That's what I intend to do! Recommended for mature readers due to strong sexual content.
Rating: Summary: Playful and Fun! Review: I enjoyed this writer's short but playful and fun beginning book to this series. Will I reader the next in Ms. Murray's Lambert series? Why, yes. I will! Looking forward to it.
Rating: Summary: Wish there were more fantasy books like this series! Review: I read for fun, entertainment, and to escape the stress of the real world. And when I do get a few moments to myself to unwind, I, look for books in this genre. A great fantasy escape for me. In Thief of Hearts, by Victoria Murray, I was given the perfect blend of passion, romance, and suspense. I fell in love with Nouri and Clint. Just ordered the remaining books to this writer's Lambert series and can hardly wait to continue my next trip to her island paridise.
Rating: Summary: I was hooked from the very first page! Review: I was hooked on this soap opera from the very first page. This writer has a sizzling way of drawing the reader into her Lambert series from the on-start and keeping them entertained through the whole book. I can hardly wait for the second novel in this must read series.
Rating: Summary: Sizzling Romance Review: Ms. Murray has painted quite a story in this sizzling romance that grabbed my attention from the start. Her characters are colorful and interesting, and her novel thoughtful and well crafted. I found myself taken right into the world she created and couldn't put it down until I reached the very last page. I'm looking forward to reading more of her work just as soon as I take a cold shower...
Rating: Summary: As Addicting as a Soap Opera Review: An author friend recommended I read this author and that I begin with the first book in the series. I found "Thief of Hearts" to be about as addicting as a soap opera. It's easy to lose yourself in the fantasy world of Nouri Sommers and her somewhat exuberant lifestyle. A nice blend of sizzling romance and suspense. On to number 2 now!
Rating: Summary: "Great plot, steamy romance...what are you waiting for?" Review: I have had the delicious pleasure of reading Ms. Murray's LAMBERT series (all four books), and I thought it was just terrific! The plot is intriguing, the romance sizzles...so, what are you waiting for? Start reading the series today!
Rating: Summary: Potentially good Review: I like the author's style; a bawdy lady that is unafraid to tell an erotic tale, and even the concept of the novel was good---though not original--- but a professional edit is a must; just a simple spell check may have helped. The author gets happy with a phrase or an adjective and soon everyone is using it. The mistakes are intrusive and perpetual throughout the book and keeps you from getting into the flow, so this book that is barely larger than a novella becomes a chore to read. Miss Murray must focus on character development and dialogue, so that everyone does not respond in the same voice and interact and react identically. The story is set in the right place and all the characters are gathered for an epic adventure, but the thriller aspect was never realized. Perhaps if she takes one more stab at it once she develops her abilities, she may yet get it. . . this could've been a sensational book.
Rating: Summary: A Fun Story ! Review: I thought Thief of Hearts by Victoria Taylor Murray was a fun story. A story about a young woman that married the wrong man. She goes in search of answers to the many questions that are beginning to surface about her mysterious husband after his behavior suddenly begins to change towards her. I thought overall Ms. Murray did a nice job (as a firstimer) in making the reader feel as though they were part of her story as they read. I also thought she did an admirable job making the reader anxious to read the second part of this story. I'm ordering book 2 of her Lambert series now.
Rating: Summary: "An island paradise I'd love to visit" Review: "Thief of Hearts" by author Murray is an island paradise that I'd love to visit...that is if it were a real island resort. I thought this new writer did a great job in her first outing and I look forward to my next visit to her Lambert paraside with much eagerness.
