Summary: Not the best CT I've read...
Review: This book was mediocre--not great, but not a terrible read either. I'm not sure if it's because I've read so many CT books that I'm "used" to her plots and character descriptions (making it sometimes easy to spot the "killer") or if this is just not one of her best works. I really wasn't impressed with her take on the "mentally challenged" character either. She seemed to make him too smart at times and then, as if catching herself, had him revert back to being a 7 year old.
If you can find this book used, I wouldn't NOT read it, but I certainly wouldn't buy it new. Better yet, get it from the library! Oh, and please, don't make this the first CT book you read.

Summary: Extremely poorly written
Review: This book was so annoying that after three separate attempts to read it, I threw it in the trash. I wouldn't even donate it to my library book sale because I can't subject anyone else to the horrible, awkward, childish writing of Carlene Thompson. No one in the world would ever talk like she writes. Horrible, awful, terrible book. The story line may have been good, but who could tell based on the terrible writing? I pity the reader who buys this utter garbage.

Summary: EXCELLENT BOOK
Review: This was the first book I have read by Ms. Thompson. Anyone who says this is a bad book needs their head examined. All I can say is go out and buy a copy now. Great book for suspense lovers.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Intro to Thompson doesn't fail
Review: Thompson did a fabulous job of outlining a complex plot and keeping the reader guessing "Who Done It" in this suspense novel about a girl who goes missing three years ago only to be found after a flood upends her body.
The book was fast-paced, witty and detailed accurately police procedures (a big plus in my eyes). My only regret is that the romance was buried within the plot and wasn't developed more. There was a budding sense of connection between Michael and Christine, but it wasn't brought to life, giving it tension and solid reality.
